Snoop's Take

The BANVIE Universal Car Security Alarm with Keyless Entry System is designed to enhance vehicle safety with features like a 6-tone siren, shock sensor, and central locking automation. This system not only allows for keyless entry but also provides alarming protection for doors, hoods, and engines against unauthorized access. Consumer feedback highlights some challenges, particularly regarding installation compatibility with existing systems. As one user noted, "You have to add actuators into the door, and do some other work so it doesn't fight with the OEM security system." Many users expressed difficulties integrating this system into older vehicles, indicating that some may require additional technical knowledge or modifications for optimal functionality. Overall, while the BANVIE car security alarm offers valuable features for enhancing vehicle safety, potential buyers should be aware of the installation complexities. It may be recommended for those who are comfortable with DIY installations and modifications to their vehicle's security systems.

Insightful Chatter

Keyless entry? I have a N/A 1990 300zx manual, has anyone installed a keyless entry in one of these? A tutorial of some sort would be helpful.

My 90 had keyless installed before me. You have to add actuators into the door, and do some other work so it doesn't fight with the OEM security system.
Mine has keyless/aftermarket alarm installed (before I purchased), and although it seemed to work originally, it did start causing problems with the stock system.
None of my keyless entry stuff(two front doors and trunk) work on my Mazda when the engine is running.

Keyless Entry Solved One Problem… But Created Another! Last year, I installed new keyless entry locks at home, hoping my kiddos would stop losing their keys.
There are keyless locks that have a WiFi connection that goes to an app that lets you see its status and lock or unlock the door from the app.
I have a Schlage lock with an app. I use rechargeable batteries in it so when it indicates low battery I just swap them with freshly charged batteries and charge the old ones.
Rechargeable batteries are how I deal with this. I have some Eneloop rechargeable batteries and just swap in some freshly charged ones every time they get low.

The range is fantastic and it’s worked great for 3 years so far

Discussion about adding keyless entry to vehicles
trying to add keyless entry to a 2010 base model does anyone know if [this video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfNqIHxUhPU) is legit? If so, that would be amazing but im suspicious.
In my wife’s case her drivers side lock failed so she needed a new key. The only keys they had were the keyless entry keys so that is how she ended up with keyless entry.
I've done it on my 2008 base Fit. Bought a Ficbox off Amazon and found a YouTube video on how to install it.

Discussion about keyless entry systems and installation
compustar systems began to look very alluring as the OEM fob only has lock, unlock, and panic.
The Compustar and Viper systems nowdays are mostly remote start systems that have keyless entry options on them so it would require the whole installation which can be some what tricky.
Discussion about the installation of keyless entry systems
Nothing beats the convenience of being able to walk right up to any trunk or door with two handfuls of shopping and being able to just get in, without having to put your stuff down on a wet sidewalk and fumble around in your jeans for a key.

I really like keyless entry. I walk up to my car, pull on the door handle, and it opens.
Concerns about the effectiveness of car alarms
I thought I heard someone in the house. The first thing that came to mind was to open the Hue app and flash the lights on and off and try to convince the unknown person that my house was haunted.
