Snoop's Take

Bounty Select-A-Size Paper Towels come in a pack of 2 triple rolls (equivalent to 6 regular rolls) and are designed to let you choose the perfect sheet size for every mess. They work to balance cost-effectiveness with performance, offering high absorbency so you use less, though some users note the sheets feel thinner than before. Community feedback is a mixed bag: while many applaud that "they don’t tear and are absorbent," others are quick to lambaste the product for its shrinkflation, with one user exclaiming, "I used the first one and said to my husband ‘what the fuck is this’". Critics focus on the roll design and inconsistencies in thickness, arguing that decreased durability undermines the overall value. Several voices also point to confusing packaging that muddles the brand’s promise. In conclusion, despite its strong absorbency and the convenience of select-a-size usage, the ongoing debate around quality degradation makes Bounty Select-A-Size Paper Towels a decent option if you prioritize cost savings and flexibility, but a cautious buy for those sensitive to changes in durability and sheet heft.

they seem thinner than target brand although are several dollars cheaper on a foot basis.

Positive Feedback

I used the first one and said to my husband “what the fuck is this”. It is noticeably thinner and not what you would expect of a Bounty paper towel.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
High absorbency and quality performance
they seem thinner than target brand although are several dollars cheaper on a foot basis.
BJ's has Bounty, which work pretty well for things I would use a paper towel on.
I can live with the difference for the savings.
I feel the quality has changed over the last few years so I am back to Charmin and Bounty these days.
Perforated half sheets extend roll life
I like them mainly because they're usually perforated in half sheets which means a roll lasts a loong time.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Thinner paper towels (shrinkflation issues)
I used the first one and said to my husband “what the fuck is this”. It is noticeably thinner and not what you would expect of a Bounty paper towel.
I wouldn't hold a grocery store or producer responsible for my 10kg bag of flour fluctuating 100-200g in moisture content over the course of a week.
you’d need an average weight using a few hundred samples from different lots to actually assess this with something like paper products.
Poor roll design and winding causing short rolls and unraveling
Bounty Paper towels are too “short” in the holder now.
And let this be the last time you ever buy them again.
Hadn’t used them in forever and thought hmm did these get shorter ???
Ya I’m definitely not getting bounty rolls then.
Thinner paper towels and quality degradation (shrinkflation issues)
I've noticed the texture/feel/design has changed as well and not for the better.
Seems like each sheet is not only thinner, they rolled it less tightly to make it seem like the same quality as previous batches?
I actually preferred the Costco brand.
Confusing packaging leads to receiving non‑Bounty product
Check the package. Toward the bottom it’ll say something like “compare to Bounty” or “compare to Sparkle”.
That "compare to Sparkle" is worse than dollar store paper towel.
It's says 'Compare to Bounty' on the package.
Reduced durability and quality degradation compared to earlier versions
Imagine my dismay when I recently tried a Bounty towel this year. It was like wetting a cheap paper luncheon napkin.
They're banking on you staying loyal to a brand that used to be good.
For those of you who still buy paper towels and toilet paper what brand do you still find is good en
Whatever they did post covid made them so rough and thin, I won't purchase them again until they go back to the original 'formula'.
High cost relative to value
Nearly $40 for 12 rolls of paper towels!
Unprotected rolls due to reduced packaging
I hated when they switched to no separate wrapping.
But then I lost like 9 unused rolls when a jug of water in the garage broke nearby.
I can't imagine how a business would cope with unwrapped rolls - where do you store paper towels without protection?

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Vintage Bounty collection and brand nostalgia
My collection of vintage Bounty Paper Towels.
I've liked Bounty since I was a baby.
Bounty hunter was right there.
this is probably the oddest collection i’ve seen.
Regional variations in product appearance
Don’t recall ever seeing the dimpled style as a KS item.
Regional thing maybe?

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Exploring cost‑saving alternatives using napkins and rags
Surprisingly, the paper napkins have a similar absorption/durability as the paper towels and we're really happy using the napkins for much less money.
We reserve paper towels for cleanup that we want to just throw away: usually grease, oil, bodily fluids (we have little kids) and similar.
We avoid all the consumable paper products (cost/waste).
If you go cloth, don't go white.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Shrinkflation observed in other products
That is some serious shrinkflation!
Brand comparisons and product variant opinions
I buy the ones that say compare to Bounty and I think they are just as good
Ultra yes, Classic no.
Observations on market shrinkflation and supplier variability
the 'sheets per roll' is constantly changing. I...guess that's okay then? Odd.
Cost-saving alternatives for cleaning
Bad rags and bleach are your friend.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Switching to cloth alternatives reduces paper towel consumption
It's amazing in rice.
If you want them you have to go get them.
Try Swedish dish cloths- cheap on Amazon and a mix between a towel and a sponge.
For our family of five with pets I bet I don’t buy more than 3 Costco packs a year.
