Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about dimensions and design
I’m not sure those dimensions look right. Probably should see it in person.
Yes, I was thinking about having the back wall be attached to the table top, but I'm thinking about just leaving it detached and setting it on top of the table when I want to play.
This is pretty cool. I was looking at doing something similar.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
User made a custom poker table
Found some plans online that were pretty easy to follow.
I used the exact same table felt.
The oak siding with the felt looks perfect the leg are cheap cedar.
You won't be able to sit close enough to the table to ante.
User discussion on poker chips alternatives
Would like people's opinion on that choice as well as better alternatives that won't break my real life bank?
It really doesn't matter which denominations are in the original set as long as you have enough.
The Apaches are nice, but the Eclipse chips you can get off Amazon are reasonably priced and you can get them in whatever amounts you want and any denomination and I think they're a bit less expensive than Apaches if you don't mind the more plain look of them.
Some day I'm going to treat myself to some Apache chips.
Discussion about poker chips alternatives
a good, functional compromise but in no way a real deluxe item.
They aren't great value for money, and they aren't great poker chips overall, either.
They do the job and are very affordable and you won't feel bad about their sunk cost if you ever decide to upgrade.
User discussion on poker mats
Neoprene Poker Mats on Amazon I’m looking for a basic neoprene gaming mat.
Great mat love playing on it. And it comes with a harness to keep it rolled and carry it around.
I like that you can get them custom sized to the exact dimensions of your table.
We love our big Viking mat, no regrets on buying it (custom cut for the dining table).

Discussion about poker table dynamics
Seeing this, and the “are poker players assholes” post back to back is quite surreal
Queue the rage. "Why would you call a raise pre flop with nine deuce?!?" Looks at my stack and says "oh I get it you're running great, up $1000 on a $1/$3 table!"
Seriously, the dealers will help newbies out? The first time I sidled up to a blackjack table in Reno, the dealer took my $5 before I even really had a chance to look at my cards and figure out what was going on.
Can confirm. Spent many nights at the Reno Cal Neva single-deck tables in my early 20’s and the dealer literally used to tell me when I should hit or stay so I’d tip her more.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about stakes and game dynamics
What stakes are you playing? We generally do .5/1 but play deepstack to feel like champions.
We play 1/1 usually.
It’s amazing dude!! Happy to join a game on weekends.
