Easy to use tire levers
Why do you want to open the motor and expose the coils and magnets?
I used this and it was a breeze. without a nightmare...
Opinions on laufenn tires? I've been in search of a new set of tires for my SUV recently, and I came across a set of Laufenn X FIT AT tires, any opinions or experiences? Would you recommend?
UPDATE: I did actually end up getting these tires and after a little more than a year I can say that they have performed extremely well, I’ve tested them in every weather condition except snow and have never had any issues, except that they can be loud at highway speeds.
Recommended for DIY tire changing
Wear eye protection and gloves too.
I'm really thankful I read reviews. I appreciate your input.
User-friendly design
Buy some tire irons and learn to do it yourself. It can be a total pain in the ass, especially when you're learning, but if you change tires often its worth it.

Not effective for certain tire types
Trust me, you need long, solid tire irons. They make ALL the difference.
Those blue ones will not work on a scooter tire, not nearly enough leverage.
Yes laufenns are solid. I run them in my crv and my peugeot 206 beater and they work well.
Dry traction is good, tread wear is good, but under wet conditions, they are quite poor, and I have to drive carefully every time when it rains.
Labor-intensive without specialized tools
You can do them yourself but it’s pretty labor intensive without the specialized tools.
Tools to remove the wheel. Sockets, wrench, etc.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Variations marketed for different uses
FYI, I see variations of this product as Instagram reels, and they always market it as a “sugar holder”
A lot of smoke shops will have them, vape stores, etc. that’s where I gotthis. I was in there for vape coils and saw this and thought how perfect it would be for this.
Laufenn is the budget sub-brand of Hankook, and is reportedly made in Indonesia.
yep made in the same plant in europe, skodas also use them as OEM and that's good enough assurance for me

Creative uses found by users
I found one renovating my house. Empty, so I cleaned it out and use it to carry coarse ground pepper wherever I go.
I was looking for a protein powder holder for my hydration mix, and all I got was stuff that was similar to this lol. I just want to be hydrated and not judged :(
Most people with actual experience recommend them. Most who say theyre poorly made never even seen them but have an opinion.
Thank you for the update!! Looking to get new tires for our Kia Niro, the recommended option on Discount Tire's website from Goodyear was $180 per tire, about $800 out the door for all 4! But the laufen recommendation a bit further down had good ratings and was only $90 per tire! I just wanted to find a real written review and this is exactly what I needed!
Discussion about tire changing techniques
You can reuse the stock tubes. If you choose to change the tires yourself, buy 2x extra tubes because you are very likely to pinch a tube when you are learning how to install them.
All Spoked wheels need tubes unless you modify them. The tubeless you are probably hearing about is the tube tech called 'tubliss' which uses a smaller high pressure tube to hold the tire to the rim, and then you add lower pressure to the inside of the tire itself for more traciton offroad.
If your new tire is directional make sure you put in on in the proper orientation. And then double check to be certain it's right.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Amazon search insights
What would the code words be for it on Amazon?
Amazon suggests coke vial with spoon 🥄 when you start typing and then when you hit search, it calls it kitchen ware 😂 Amazon knows what's up
Users recommend proper tools for tire changes
You're using crappy tools.
Taking it to an autoshop is fine, but they'll charge you way too much for the job (upwards of $200), so it's better to have it done yourself.
Users discuss pricing for tire mounting and balancing services
I keep getting high costs to mount tires.
$25 a tire, mounted and balanced, cash and carry.
It’s $35 per tire at discount tire.
Personally, I have a mobile mechanic do it. Costs me about 30$ more than a shop but I don’t have to leave my house and the guy does hood work.
Discussion on toolkit size for motorcycle ownership
Tools for my Royal Enfield Motorcycle
Considerably smaller toolkit than car ownership.
Yes..everything fits easily in two side panniers
Looks about like the toolkit for a Ural motorcycle. But you would also need a trailer and a couple boards to push it up on.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Experiences shared about changing different types of tires
Make sure tyre beads are loose all round and push beads into rim opposite to where you start to remove tyre.
If you are trying to do "routine" maintenance that they expect the consumer to do, such as changing a tire and the fasteners are not coming out with excessive force, then it's because they didn't want/need you to remove them to do the thing you are trying to do.
Users share challenges with changing tires
I almost had a mental breakdown.
Drop center the tire as much as possible to get a bight of the tube and pull hard.
5 months and 3k miles is still somewhat early but if possible I’d switch to something more reputable like Michelin.
