This tripod accommodates a wide range of devices, including DSLRs and smartphones, making it ideal for travel and everyday use. Overall, the JOILCAN Mini Tripod is recommended for those seeking portability and solid performance in a compact package. The feedback reveals a mix of positive and negative sentiments among users. Many appreciate the tripod's ability to handle heavy cameras while remaining lightweight, with quotes like "solid enough to hold your heaviest body and lens" being common. it really is so sturdy. I also use it with my wildlife lens (200-600 sigma) and feel very confident with it even at that heavy set up.

Positive Feedback

I mean the tripod literally flexes under weight. It's not as stable or rigid as a $600 tripod should be.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Sturdy and reliable for heavy cameras
it really is so sturdy. I also use it with my wildlife lens (200-600 sigma) and feel very confident with it even at that heavy set up.
Price sucks but it is solid.
its super neat. Its able to hold my Canon 80D with 100-400mm lens plus 2x telephoto adapter with no issues.
Lightweight and portable for travel
I am looking for a travel tripod that is very very lightweight (less than 1kg), folds really small (12-13 inches). I would love to not buy the ball head separately.
It is lightweight and comes with a bag to carry it. I haven't found an affordable option that's better than this myself.
I seem to keep going back and forward between the couple that Ulanzi offer... Open to any and all suggestions!
I like the mini evo because of the digital and print options but I am not sure about the quality of the digital pictures.
Solid enough to support heavy camera bodies
Solid enough to hold your heaviest body and lens. Beyond that it's all extras.
Lightweight and compact for portability
I’d love something that’s lightweight and compact for portability.
Adjustable height for versatile shooting
I really like the Benros, but there are lots of options out there.
I'm genuinely curious as to what I'm missing.
Versatile shooting angles with 3-way pan head
both my partner and I really liked how versatile this pillow is thanks to its reversible design, and how well it supports the head!
Lightweight and easy to carry for travel
Pick any two out of three.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Can flex under heavy lateral loads
I mean the tripod literally flexes under weight. It's not as stable or rigid as a $600 tripod should be.
But for $600, I still would have wanted more rigidity for tough environments.
Higher price compared to alternatives
Shame it's at least twice the price of anything comparable.
Some tripods can sag under heavy weight
High-end tripods are a scam and it's a hill I am willing to die on.
Stability issues under heavy weight
I used to be scared to have my tripod setup all the way for fear that the slightest breeze might send the whole 1800 camera setup tumbling over!

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Preference for pan/tilt tripods over ball-head ones
I hate it. Far prefer my 40 year old pan/tilt tripod.
Varied opinions on leg lock types
I absolutely hate with all my heart hate the clip type leg locks and am trying to find a lead on what to look for and this is it!
Comments about tripod features and user preferences
I could not be happier with it.
I love everything about it.

Comparison of different tripod brands and models
could also recommend the ulanzi F38 or treeroot tripod.
a tiny 12-13mm leg section tripod is generally not acceptable to me unless using compact cameras like the Canon G7 or an iPhone.
Discussion on the necessity of high-end tripods
Now I have a Peak Design Travel tripod. It’s a bit heavier but very compact which is important for carrying within a bag such as a backpack.
Might be more expensive by 50$ but it's absolutely lightweight.
Finding the perfect travel tripod is challenging.
Tripods seem simple enough, but finding the perfect one is really hard.
Comparison of tripod brands and functionalities.
the plate clipping mechanism is the best I have used.
I settled on the 3 Legged Things Punks Brian, and love it.
3 legged thing punks are dope for the price.
I think they were on the pricier side.
Comments about pricing and value perception
Well worth the price.
Curiosity about tripod features for specific uses
I'm curious how well it takes panoramas.
Discussion on tripod comparison and recommendations
Whichever the choice, keep in mind that tripods are one of the tools where often you get what you pay for.
long-time IBIS enjoyer haha
I recommend it. After much research I went with Ulanzi over the PD because of Ulanzi's ability to shoot vertically much easier.
Discussion about the differences between low-end and high-end tripods
The difference between a $30 tripod and a good $150 tripod is night and day.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about tripod weight and stability trade-offs
Gitzp or RRS are the best. Pricey but the most stable.
Can anyone recommend a tripod that isn't too pricey (ideally under $100, if possible) that will properly grip my R7?
Are there any good fluid head tripods that you guys use and it fits in a pelican/backpack?
I would like to invest in a good one as I will be using it a lot.
Discussion on tripod design and stability concerns
it's cool to see someone giving solving that a go.
If I was spending in that price range, I'd get a small Gitzo or rather get a 250-300 $/Euro Tripod.
it looks great, but that's just too much sacrificed functionality for a pretty marginal reduction in size.
they have definitely transitioned from a value brand to a premium brand.
