Snoop's Take

The Joolz AER+ Carrycot for Newborns is a versatile and lightweight cot designed for easy transport and comfort during strolls with your baby. Ideal for infants up to 20lbs, the carrycot features a convenient one-hand fold mechanism and a breathable mattress, making it perfect for on-the-go parents. Consumer feedback highlights its comfortable sleeping option for newborns, with many stating, "the bassinet attachment was the only place she would sleep as a newborn," while others appreciate its compact design and lightweight nature for daily activities. However, some users have expressed concerns regarding its suitability for overnight sleeping and compatibility with car seats. Despite these drawbacks, the overall sentiment leans toward positivity, with many recommending the carrycot for parents looking for a high-quality, portable solution for their newborn's travel needs. Given the strengths noted by users, the Joolz AER+ Carrycot is highly recommended for its category, particularly for those who value convenience and comfort.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Carrycot provides a comfortable sleeping option for newborns
We used the carrycot daily until she was 5ish months - she would only sleep whilst I was walking.
I would recommend buying the carrycot as they are amazing for you to get a break IF baby will go in it.
the bassinet attachment was the only place she would sleep as a newborn.
We used our bassinet a lot.
Compact design is easy to use for daily activities
the Joolz Aer which seems very easy to use but with carry cot on, it is very very low, would require bending a lot.
wondering if for stability we should do a non-compact for that 0-6 stage.
we got the Joolz Aer+ with the bassinet attachment for every day use.
Lightweight and easy to carry
I'm done with that guy.
My wife is adamant about this.
Seems like a lot of extra $$$ for something you only use for a few months.
Convenient one-hand fold feature
Folds up small in about two seconds using one hand.
It’s super light and well made.
I have the aer and love the fold.
Lightweight and portable
The Yoyo is a freaking tank while also being incredibly light and portable.
Lightweight design for comfort in warmer weather
I am looking for a stroller that is lightweight so that baby can be more comfortable and cool in the warmer weather.
Convenient for frequent use with an infant bassinet
an infant bassinet is worth it.
Good suspension for a smooth ride
It has good suspension and a good sized basket.
Great option for walks and travel
Stroller would be used mainly for walks around the neighborhood, short errands, and travel.
Yes, definitely. Love ours.
If the sidewalks aren’t uneven then this could work great!
Impressive performance on various terrains
I tried a Joolz aer on holiday and was really impressed. It did really well on a variety of terrains with a much-too-big 4 year old.
High-quality bassinet with a large sun hood
The bassinet feels really nice quality (big hood to keep out the sun too).
Convenient for on-the-go parents
I almost didn't get one but i did last-minute and i'm glad i did.

Where it needs some work!

Carrycot is not suitable for overnight sleeping
Does anyone know if the Joolz Aer carrycot rated for overnight sleeping?
The cot is not suitable for overnight sleeping, because European safety standards state to never leave your baby unattended in the stroller.
Essentially it is the height from mattress to the top of the cot that is too short.
Not rated for newborns without additional support
I wouldn’t risk it. It’s not rated for newborns and it doesn’t parent face so you can’t keep an eye on them.
Not compatible with car seats
other than that it seems like a great option.
Handlebar comfort issues reported
Tried it out though and didn't get on with how the handle bar felt.
Not necessary for all parents
You don’t need it. It’s nice to have, especially in the first month.
If that's feasible for you I would say no, you don't need a bassinet.
