Snoop's Take

The K2 Raider Inline Skates are designed for young skaters, offering a comfortable and adjustable fit for feet sizes 4-8. With features like a Stability Plus Cuff and a vibration-absorbing F.B.I. frame, these skates ensure stability and support for both beginners and growing kids. Consumer feedback highlights the affordability and accessibility of the K2 Raider skates, with many users stating, "They are cheap, widely available, comfortable, and have assisted tens of thousands of people get into rollerblading." Many parents appreciate their adjustability, making them suitable for growing kids, while others mention their lightweight design. However, some critiques point out perceived quality issues, such as flimsy construction and sizing confusion, which can be a concern for potential buyers. Overall, while the K2 Raider Inline Skates are recommended for beginners and kids due to their affordable price and adjustable features, potential buyers should consider user feedback on quality and fit when making a purchasing decision.

My K2 VO2 S 90 Inline Skates Review.

The Marlee and Raider are what my kids used and think they are good beginner skates compared to Bladerunners
Speed lacing system is advantageous
I would tend towards the K2, because of the speed lacing system.
Fits unique foot shapes well
theyre the only ones that fit my idiot shaped feet
Lightweight and comfortable
I know I liked em (and always wanted a pair) back in the day cause they were so light.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Perceived as low quality with gimmicky features
K2 skates feel like wearing a sock with DOOP skates.
Flimsy construction compared to other brands
It feels like very flimsy cheap plastic, and the 2 mounting points for the blades don't feel sturdy at all.
Perceived low quality compared to rivals
I dont like the super soft boot though and the wheels dont seem to great
Quality seemed a little higher overall with RB microblade, so I'd recommend it.
Perceived low durability
Had a pair of K2s when I first got back into rollerblading 2 years ago and they lasted me about 2 months before they started making a creaking noise
Sizing confusion
Really confused with the sizing.
Too roomy width-wise
I didn’t keep them because despite being the right length, they were too roomy width wise and also around my feet, as I have low volume feet.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Niche market for inline skates
Inline skates: where to go? I had taken my kids to Skates on Haight, but they did not survive COVID shutdowns.
Nostalgia for K2's revolutionary past
They looked incredible. They were revolutionary for their time and hold up pretty well- a pair of 1996 fatties would still work perfectly well for lots of modern tricks.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
K2's market dominance limits choices for beginners
K2 still makes comfy fitness skates which are very good for anyone new to the sport.
Comparison of K2 to other brands like Powerslide and Rollerblade
Poweslide and rollerblade are skate specific brands. K2 is an extreme sports brand.
User transitioning from old K2 skates to new model
My First Time on 100 mm Wheels. Review on K2 Inline Skates Trio LT 100 2024 Model while Skating.
Looking at new skates after my old K2 EXO's finally cracked (plastic got old, I guess).
Discussion on comparing K2 with other brands
Any rollerblade with an 80mm wheel will be a good start for a beginner.
they are comfortable, have good support to turn well, and are a great cruising skate for working out.
Community guidelines reminder
Reminder: r/rollerblading is a community for bladers of all skill levels, disciplines, and backgrounds.
Recommendation to check various manufacturers for fitting options
Perhaps check on different manufacturer's websites for information and email them.
Comparison to other brands for better options
I'd suggest bigger wheels. You didn't say anything about tricks so bigger wheels roll better.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
K2's history of inconsistency in producing skates
Are these why k2 stopped making aggressive skates ?almost stopped skating again for another 20 years , wtf k2 ?
K2 has gone through several cycles of producing a line of skates, sponsoring a team and events, then suddenly dropping everything and seeming to pull out of the sport.
I miss my old K2 Backyard Bob. Changeable H block and grind plates.
Nostalgia for past K2 skate models
Good lord i remember my first pair of skates k2 fattys
K55 were the best looking skate
anybody remember the easter egg on the early non ufs k2 fattys?
Concerns about durability of kids skates for adults
I am a complete beginner.
They should run true-to-size and be of more-or-less medium/average width.
Concerns about stability for beginners
so I’d say that if you are only desiring to coast along safe avenues forwards or backwards that the models you are looking at should satisfy and be very comfortable.
My concern is the time I will be able to give to getting better and how unstable I might be at the beginning.
Irrational hatred towards competing brands
i have an irrational hatred towards powerslide, and i don’t discuss matters with people who have an irrational hatred towards k2.
