Snoop's Take

The Litheli 40V (2 x 20V) 16" Electric Lawn Mower is designed for efficient and hassle-free lawn care. This cordless, walk-behind mower offers a lightweight solution with a powerful performance, perfect for maintaining small to medium-sized lawns. Consumer feedback highlights the mower's easy startup and maneuverability, with many users noting, "It fires up first time every time" and praising its lightweight design, making it accessible for various users. However, there are concerns regarding battery performance, particularly with the included 4.0Ah batteries, as some users report insufficient runtime, stating, "100% battery at start. Dead after 23 minutes." Overall, while the Litheli Electric Lawn Mower has many strengths, such as quiet operation and easy handling, potential buyers should be aware of the battery limitations. Based on user sentiment, it is recommended for those with smaller lawns who prioritize ease of use over extended runtime.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy startup process
It fires up first time every time.
No need gas runs if case you forget.
I don’t really wanna do all that every time I mow so has anybody had an experience with the electrical mowers?
Keeps shutting off while using it.
Reliable starting performance
Less noise, less hassle, starts every time.
Lightweight and easy to maneuver
My kids can easily mow with it.
Lighter to push also.
This will be year 3 for me with my EGO.
It’s a safety issue, like an automatic shut off. Both the bag and chute clos a circuit that allows
Quiet operation
Quiet, easy, powerful, no gas. Can mow my entire yard more than once on a single charge.
Good performance with larger batteries
You need to grab 8ah packs, 4ah's don't make sense with this tool.
Yeah I have a pair coming, idk why they give you 2x 4ah included
This is the only answer OP needs. Lawn equipment is very power hungry, 4ah batteries are insufficient for the task.
I got some knockoff 9AH ones, I can do my whole lawn several times unless it's covered in leaves.
Satisfactory results on larger lawns
every time I use them they last a shorter and shorter period of time.
Easy to use after initial setup
Sorry to hear you had issues. I got this and it was fine for last summer.
Good performance for smaller lawns
A great little mower of regularly cut grass.
Reliable performance with safety features
It’s got a safety feature in there for sure.
Less noise compared to gas mowers
I can do my 1/4ac lot almost twice on a charge at cut height 3. It’s awesome, so quiet compared to the gas mowers I can hear 8 houses away.
Sufficient runtime for small to medium lawns
We noticed that we could do front and back yard with one battery charge.
Good performance for small to medium lawns
I have a gas mower that I haven’t done a single fucking thing to other than put gas in it for about 10 years.
Satisfactory battery performance for small lawns
battery generally lasts full lawn, just got the leaf blower this year so have a backup (bigger) battery as well now.
Good performance for various lawn conditions
this mower performs great
My only regret is not doing it sooner.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Less effective at mulching compared to gas mowers
it is not as good at mulching
it just doesn’t seem to suction them up as well as the gas did
Electric mowers do not have the balls to do it. At least the ones I’ve tried.
Battery issues and long charging times
Batteries die and are expensive to replace.
I bought one of Ryobi’s multi chargers and some spares to help get around the issue, but that’s a bigger up front cost.
Replacement batteries will cost more than half the price of a brand new mower.
Insufficient runtime with 4.0Ah batteries
100% battery at start. Dead after 23 minutes.
It was definitely a mistake for Makita to package the kit with 4.0 batteries… a stab at making it look like a good deal, I’d assume pressure from the big box vendors to hit certain price points.
Batteries heat up during use
When I use undersized batteries in a demanding tool. It heats up the battery.
Batteries are hot to touch after removing them. Not unbearable but seems like it may be too hot.
Insufficient battery runtime after charging
Just got the 20v 10ah x 2, DCMWP233U2 mower, batteries claim 1.25 hrs, only last 15 minutes after charging all night.
It worked great for about a year, then would kill both 10amp batteries in about five minutes.
Frequent failures and reliability issues
First 20” mower I got from them just stopped working.
the compact size is perfect for our yard due the number of gardens growing, but it is a poor choice as far as reliability.
My last gas mower lasted a decade without trouble.
Battery overheats during use
battery over heat
Your money is best spent on a good snowblower. Don't cheap out on one.
Frequent shutdowns due to safety features
if the bag contacts lose contact mine will shut off.
Issues with bag contact leading to shutdowns
You definitely can, but then it might need the chute lid down or something?
Motor overheating due to low height setting on tall grass
Well for starters it looks like you're trying to mow really tall grass at the lowest height setting so you're probably overheating the motor.
Y’all’s grass is too tall for that little electric mower
This^^ grass is waaay to long to cut it in one pass.
Insufficient runtime for larger lawns
I bought the Ryobi 21" self propelled and have 1/4 acre of St Augustine. Took 3 full charges to mow and the batteries are $180 each.
Common battery runtime and charging issues
Battery Mowers -- What's the deal? I have a .4 acre lawn and I've been looking to buy a battery powered push mower for some time now.
Battery runtime issues in certain conditions
Battery lasts through the whole yard unless the grass is really thick/tall/wet.
Common battery issues reported
Seeing this issue seems to transcend brand based on reviews.
Frequent shutdowns during use
You can’t run it without the bag?

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
General discussion about transition to electric mowers
I’m noticing a lot of my neighbors are using electric lawn mowers now.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison with other brands
Both of these have been great mowers.
Challenges faced with lawn mowing due to grass conditions
How low are you cutting your zoysia? I cut my pretty low. 1.25-1.5” and the ego mower stalls out ALL the time in the peak of summer.
My averaged cut height is 2”. And when the lawn peaks in the heat of the summer I’m mowing twice weekly.
Electric mower storage logistics
I really got the hang of it.
General thoughts on mower battery compatibility
Yeah a battery that works for a glue gun AND a lawnmower feels like a stretch.
Discussion on battery compatibility and performance
Meh I get about 40 out of my 18v 4ah mower
Yeah it depends on the conditions and what you are cutting
Concerns about the best brand for reliable mowers
Would a honda be best? Saw one that was in the 550 range? How about Craftsman?
General discussion about battery maintenance and performance
I wonder how much of it is due to people not using the giant 10ah batteries for anything besides the mower, so they sit unused all year and aren't maintained well.
User experiences vary significantly with different brands
EGO is pretty much the best brand when it comes to electric garden tools.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about battery longevity and maintenance
Buy way more battery than you need. Running lithium batteries full to completely dead is awful for them, long term.
It makes me cringe when company like ryobi still sell 18v lawn mower.
A spare battery costs as much as a new gas-powered device.
My Kobalt 80V batteries have now mowed my lawn for 9 years.
Discussion about potential damage from hitting objects
Kid ran over a stick with my mower. How bad is it?
if it still cuts evenly then theres no problem. check the oil level.
It was a truly big chunk of stick. When you push it it is more dramatic, it almost stalls.
sheared flywheel keyway. This machine was flat out tortured - so why torture us.
User experiences vary significantly
Not a brand I've heard of before. Inexpensive and thinking I may give it a try.
I’ve been using it for 30 years with 30 minutes of maintenance.
Concerns about battery performance in different applications
Yeah I really wish they did 2x18v... I don’t really know how that’s going to work for a Home Depot, but yeah I really can’t imagine a situation where the mower would be a good fit besides an abnormally small lawn.
