Snoop's Take

The Logitech Wave Keys Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard is designed to deliver natural typing comfort and efficient multi-device connectivity. It offers an ergonomic, compact design complete with a cushioned palm rest and versatile operation options via Bluetooth and the Logi Bolt Receiver. User feedback reflects a polarized sentiment: many users rave about the comfort, with one noting, 'The comfort makes up for it in spades though,' while others criticize issues such as cramped key spacing, sticky keys, and concerns over layout shifts. Several reviews highlight that although the overall experience is comfortable, aspects like the wrist rest staining easily and the lack of low-profile mechanical switches cause frustration. The consensus is that ergonomic benefits come at a cost in design precision, sparking heated debate among users. In summary, the Logitech Wave Keys is recommended for those prioritizing ergonomic comfort and multi-device capability, even as potential buyers should be aware of design quirks that could affect long-term use. Expert analysis concludes that for users with specific ergonomic needs, this keyboard stands strong in its category despite some functional drawbacks.

The comfort makes up for it in spades though.

Positive Feedback

I’d like the K860 ergonomic / split keyboard with proper low profile mechanical switches too.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Ergonomic comfort

I don’t think can go back to a straight keyboard after this.

Desire for low-profile mechanical switches
I’d like the K860 ergonomic / split keyboard with proper low profile mechanical switches too.
Wrist rest cleanliness issues
I’ve seen reviews saying the wrist rest part stains easily.
Wireless connectivity issues
I really really like the keyboard layout and how the mouse feels in my hand (ergonomic shape and velvety finish), so I'm not looking forward to getting used to a different set.
Cramped key spacing and sticky keys
the keys are too close together and the most used keys (A-S-RTN-SPC) start sticking within a few few days of hard use.
Uncomfortable key layout with shifted key positions
I am forever hitting caps lock with my pinkie as well which is very frustrating.
The layout seems cramped, key positions are shifted around, and I prefer a proper 'inverted T' for my cursor keys.
I feel like the arrow keys are way too far inward and would cramp my right hand to reach.
Scarce replacement parts availability
It is a shame that Logitech stopped producing these.
Keys may malfunction when exposed to debris or liquid
funny enough could probably still work if you make sure no debris/liquid is on the travel for the keys LOL

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Ergonomic benefit for RSI relief
If you have RSI like I had, it is a lifesaver.
Yeah, I’ve been experiencing some significant wrist/hand/arm pain for the first time in my life, and I know I need to take action.
Plus the keyboard is amazing for Vim/Neovim.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Confusing wireless receiver compatibility and removal of Unifying support
It seems that once these devices are connected to a unifying dongle, they may not reconnect to their original ones.
The combo compatible with unifying receiver has a unifying logo on the device.
Perceived overpricing and mediocre quality
fairly mediocre and significantly overpriced compared to those made by enthusiast companies like Keychron or Akko.
Get something better, Logitech isn't that great.
Difficulty obtaining replacement keys and parts
I can't fucking stand the new updated models they released that moved away from what was so simple and great about it.
The Stream is often freaking cheap on sale, so just try one.
I'm in the same boat... and currently typing this on a MX Mechanical and it's so loud.
I wonder if it's new old stock or if Logitech is actually still making them.
Comparisons with alternative ergonomic keyboards
they feel really tall and clunky.
Adjustment period needed for new ergonomic keyboards
The first switch is the hardest. It’s normal and will take some time to adjust but probably only a week or two since the overall layout is the same.
Switching keyboards will always come with some adjustment time.
Health diagnosis and ergonomic advice before buying keyboards
I figured getting a more ergonomic keyboard is the way to go.
Genuinely the best answer, while a keyboard might help alleviate some of the pains you really want to understand the root cause and get a proper diagnosis.
Treating wrist pain should look at why it’s there and what’s causing it.
Controversial quality and pricing of Logitech keyboards
Every single Reddit conversation is “hey I know you want that keyboard, but you should spend $500 instead”
I think it's a very good keyboard if you prefer lower-profile keys.
logitech products have had a lot of QC issues.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Non‐standard key layout and poor keycap design on MX Mechanical keyboards
Firstly, the keyboard itself is very very good, connectivity and battery life are both brilliant.
I genuinely can't understand why Logitech did this. it makes no sense.
Keycaps durability, wear, and replacement issues on MX Mechanical keyboards
the lifespan of this board is very limited if you care about how your keycaps look.
My spacebar is starting to show its wear already (after only a couple months) and it annoys me lol.
Old thread I know, but there is a 3d printable solution [here](https://www.printables.com/model/7406
I really hate the keycaps, 3 years of it being my daily driver, I don't see any fading.
Durability concerns with various Logitech keyboards over time
Not as strong as I thought. I have been using my keyboard really carefully, and over the last few days, I've noticed cracks on one corner of my keyboard.
I hate to keep on changing keyboards every now and then and I was actually looking forward to this to be durable.
But for what we paid we expected much more.
I never did anything wrong with them, thats why i switched to Corsair at least for Keyboards.
Lack of wired mode and misleading connectivity claims on MX Keys
Any statements to the contrary are incorrect.
The packaging is misleading on supported connectivity.
Not sure if I'll return it though as it's a good fit for me, unlike most other keyboards I've seen.
anything that cannot use wired mode is waste of money, waste of time.
Ghosting issues in Logitech keyboards
the ghosting issues it has just makes it unusable for me.
Keycaps durability and wear issues
Definitely not. All keycaps in Logitech keyboards will deteriorate after time, that's enough to not consider their products.
The latter is up for a replacement, because of a broken keycap and frequent double tapping on several keys.
Durability concerns with recent Logitech keyboards
Logitech used to be good, but latest few generation of their product dipped in quality, longevity.
User dissatisfaction with MX Keys as a successor
Logitech are out of their minds to discontinue the K740: they accidentally'd the perfect keyboard.
You can use a MX Keys wrist-pad; all other are too thick.
Probably great if you *only* game on it, but I'm pretty sure most reviewers were testing the typing with the TKL model which doesn't have the G keys.
To my surprise Logifail stopped making it entirely and gives us shitty MX Keys as a successor.
Lack of innovation and quality improvements in Logitech keyboards
all these companies (with the exception of Logitech) have stepped their game up significantly over the past couple years.
Mixed durability experiences with Logitech keyboards
Ngl, I had a “cheap” membrane keyboard from Logitech, it lasted 7 years of daily use and abuse, it was great for me.
Preference for enthusiast alternatives over Logitech keyboards
Logitech/Corsair/Razer/Etc are good for those who aren't into enthusiast keyboards.
It's like sex for my wrists.
it sucks the same way my secondhand toyota sucks compared to a new BMW M5?
It's just about what you're looking for in a keyboard.
LED failures in Logitech keyboards
What a shame, because I've got the same kb and I really love it despite the cheap keycaps.
It is a shame because it is a great keyboard.
This would normally be covered by warranty so I'm sorry that you experienced that.
This keyboard´s leds is a shit, my experience: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJAL5Lsp7fI](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJAL5Lsp7fI)
General dissatisfaction with Logitech gaming keyboards
my experience on logitech products past 2 years have made me hate the company.
Indeed.... but that's a problem for logitech and they discontinued G710 and G710+.
Durability legacy of older Logitech keyboards
11 years and still going strong - Logitech Wave K350 wireless keyboard
Considering how old this is, it is actually cleaner than I expected...
I still have the MX5000 combo that I bought around 2005, and it still works perfectly.
Non‑mechanical switch concerns in Logitech ergonomic keyboards
I personally think vim only benefits from ergonomic keyboards.
Durability anecdote comparing with Logitech G915
My logitech g915 survived quite a few falls.
