What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Handles slopes and uneven terrain well
does it really cut evenly or just miss a bunch of spots?
The mower GOES where I want it to, and it doesn’t get stuck on much of anything, which is such a relief.
My wife loves the mowed lawn, so that's proof enough, and I'm really pleased with it.
Luba 2 is definitely the best
Cuts evenly and does not miss spots
I agree with most of what you've said. Some things are ridiculous like being unable to name zones/ta
Motivates lawn care and reduces maintenance
You can set the height, set the schedule, and never think about your lawn again.
I have the 2 and am thoroughly impressed.
Great investment for lawn care
Some of the best $$$ I've ever spent
I'm just rolling around in all my extra cash money
Operates quietly and efficiently
Dont have to mow at all.
Cats enjoy sitting on the mower
The lawn guys are unhappy but the cats just love to sit on it.
Works well with limited understanding
Most issues come back to a misunderstanding of how the mower operates or what it’s limitations are.
Enjoys the product
Yes I love mine.
Impressive performance and effectiveness
I am going to a new Lymow One because it appears to have better cutting blades for my rather rough grass.
Improved obstacle detection features
Bit bummed that I bought my Luba 2 just at the end of last mowing season, should have waited :-)
Desire for software updates for previous models
I truly hope that mammotion continues to evolve the software on the previous models that the user community has repeatedly requested to improve our "customer experience".
Fully automated with no issues during initial use
Fully automated, zero issues.
Great after warranty replacement
Sorry your experience is bad. Mine is the opposite.
Operates effectively in high temperatures
Running 7 days a week in the scorching Tennessee heat of 90°F+, the Luba 2 takes 3-4 full days to mow my 2.4-acre yard.
This is a good review. I’m not really sure if 3-4 days to mow 2.5 acres really lives up to its claimed 2.5 area marketing material.
Solid core performance with room for software improvements
Nicely done. Kind of confirming that the core of the Luba is pretty sound with some software tweaking needed.
Capable of covering large areas efficiently
I suspect there are lots of people in the market for one who will read this and may not comment.
Camera technology enhances performance
Camera is making it so much better.
Luba 1 has proven reliability
Well I'm delighted with my Luba 1 I have to say and cables seem like a bonkers approach in the face of this modern tech
Improved customer support
While the customer support has been a serious issue, I can confidently say it has improved dramatically and I now have the part I needed.
Going on 5 months now, mowing 15k sq/ft 3x a week. Not a single issue. I couldn’t be happier!
Support responded that Monday to send them videos. Their support thru Amazon responded that Friday and said someone in support will contact me but my new adapter would get sent out.
Great performance without issues
No problems at all so far. Everything worked first time after setup and has been fine since then.
Effective mowing performance
I bought this and I will never go back to boundary wire again.
App functionality improving with updates
I've had a few weird glitches but nothing deal breaking.
Potential for great results with the mower
I see a lot of potential ...
Creative theft prevention solutions suggested
it fixes a problem haha
Definitely going to do something like that for mine.
Impressive performance reported by users
some of the issues get resolved over the next 6 months or so, similar to what happened with Luba 1.
Great performance and reliability
The Luba 5000 is incredible.
Advanced technology with smart features
I'm impressed with the technology involved.
Looking forward to watching this sucker do the dirty work.
Handles steep slopes and rough terrain well
The Luba is a bit touchy about being under thick trees and up close to buildings, but does its best to work its way through.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Prices are steep compared to budget options
their prices are a bit steep for me
High initial purchase price
My kids got a kick out of it.
Concerns about compatibility of upgrades with older models
I wonder if the camera on the current Luba 2 can be upgraded or if the firmware will be updated to support the features of the new Luba 2.
Problems with charging and functionality after a few months
It was doing fine, but I've had a few instances where it will not recharge to 100%. It’s also been having recurring 'failed' charges over the past month when returning between jobs.
When it works, it works great! Theoretically I like it more than my old dumb wired Husqvarna. But between the software deficiencies and not the hardware, it leaves a lot to be desired.
So.. yeah.. I’m pretty frustrated, too.
You will have a problem in the feature doing 'hose it down regularly'. Better use an air compressor to remove those stuck clippings.
Struggles with advertised mowing capacity
yeah, I'd be hard pressed to recommend the 10,000 to anyone.
I think what you are saying is 100% correct, mowing 10,000m2 is simply too much for the size of mower that the Luba is.
Customer service issues reported
I absolutely loved it at first and just everything crapped out after 2 months.
Software and firmware problems affect functionality
all of the new issues with Luba 2 are related to the firmware and app which Luba 1 was just updated to and now inherits the same issues.
Mowing capacity not meeting expectations
I have a lawn that is almost at the limit of the 3000's range. It does mow the entire area, however, it takes 24 hours!
Slow customer service issues
It maybe an overstatement but the moderator of this Reddit said “it is clear a lot users need support”
I've cancelled my order, they've just missed the latest delivery date months after I supposedly purc

Some users report significant issues
a lot of users need support.
Thanks for your insight
Delivery delays from Kickstarter campaign
Considering the things I mentioned before that seems weird.
High investment with associated risks
My one concern about this unit, and several mowers (like the Blade), is what happens if the app disappears.
Concerns about technology and pricing
I definitely want one just waiting on the technology to get better and the prices to go down.
Contradictory reviews about effectiveness
All reviews are contradictory.
Issues with app functionality and compatibility.
I love the LUBA, but I just spent $2500 on an old-gen mower last year, and the fact that there's no GPS tracking is a deal breaker for me.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on labor impacts of robotic mowers
A few years back, I hired my neighbors high school kid to mow my lawn.
Build a wall! Build a wall!.
It will allow courses to pump out 9 hole rounds off the back 9 first thing in the am which is a shit ton more revenue over the life of the mower.
Manual labor is obviously not for you, simple as that.
Potential impact on lawn care services
there will be a lawn service that can have a fleet of robot mowers that would allow them to be taking care of multiple properties simultaneously
Excitement for robotic lawn mowers
The idea of having a robot handle my lawn, while also sweeping up leaves and clippings, seemed like a dream come true.
I'm buying a house with a big yard and think one of these little wonders is in my future.
Discussion about lawn contests
The 2024 Lawn of the Year contest is here! You have until September 30th to submit your lawn for consideration.
Discussion on the efficiency of random vs. systematic mowing patterns
why do robot mowers use random patterns ?
Because everyone's yards are different - different garden shapes, hill gradients, tree placement, fencing, etc - and so being programmed with one specific set of instructions wouldn't work for everyone.
it feels a bit like the inspiration came from the bouncing dvd logo, and i guess that it's true that it will eventually get everything... but is there no better way for simple mowers to be slightly more efficient?
Being smarter for something like this is *extremely* hard. You can make it random with practically zero code.
User curiosity about design improvements for robotic mowers
Why doesn't someone come up with the idea of making the front and rear identical so the mower can mow in both directions?
Comparison to farming equipment using GPS
I mean farming harvestors etc all run on GPS, cant imagine a fairway mower being too much different.
Technical discussions about mower features
The blades on luba are not supposed to be fixed. They are supposed to wing.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Humorous takes on robotic mower usage
You strap a c4 to it and set it up that once its a mile away from home to detonate.
You sit on the porch with a shot gun drinking some beers. “Get off my lawn!!”
Are you fucking with me? I’m saying the thief didn’t take it a mile away because he lives nearby and it wouldn’t explode because it’s within a mile. Does this make sense?
How fast do you people think grass grows? I would set that fucker down, start it and go drink a glass of ice tea on the porch reveling in the fact that I don’t have to mow anymore.
Economic discussion on supply and demand in the industry
Demand still exceeds supply so….
Discussion on naming zones and tasks
I contacted customer service about naming my areas & was told that feature is planned but not rolled out yet.
Discussion on upcoming robotic mowers
So many new mowers 'coming soon' that I don't know which one to go with now.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison to other brands
My Stihl mulches leaves into oblivion and doesn’t have the silly razor blade leaves.
Great review and you covered everything I was looking for!
Challenges of perimeter wire installation
installing a perimeter wire was just too much trouble.
Discussion about new compact models being cheaper
More compact, lighter, more agile, cheaper!
Inquiry about battery replacements for older models
looks like this new Luba has replaceable batteries finally...
Suggestions for protecting the mower from elements
One cheap solution is buy a plastic tub (~$40) cut the side tie the flap up and make a garage for it.
Inquiry about GPS alternatives
Zou het aanraden? Of zijn er betere gps alternatieven?
Interest in product comparisons with LUBA
There is a Youtube vid of the RoboUP Rhino shown at CES 2024. The front wheels steer and they seem to be driven by independent drive axles instead of wheel hub motors.
I'm trying to get this one on loan to make videos with. I think it would be very interesting to compare it to LUBA.
Comparison of funding success between RoboUp and LUBA
Although their Kickstarter campaign was successful last year, it raised about 150,000 Euros, considerably less than the Luba campaign, which raised over 3,100,000 Euros.
Curiosity about RoboUp's customer service satisfaction
They were not successful as Luna at the first kickstarter, while the user's seems very satisfied with their customer service.
General excitement about robotic lawn mowers
I saw my first one as I left work on Friday and I said the same things.
Discussion about the need for parts and service
The minimum order size should be Two. One to mow and second for spare parts.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Skepticism about robotic mowers and their adoption
You jest, but it's only a matter of time maintenance worker unions start striking to boycott the robotic lawnmowers that are taking their jobs.
Concerns about theft and security features
How do you prevent these from being stolen?
They have alarms. Extremely loud ones that go off if they leave the perimeter you set.
The ones I've looked at a) don't even function without their charging base, and b) have a lift alarm that goes off if someone tries to pick it up.
They have cellular GPS in them and are useless without the base to charge or wires to keep it in your yard.
Concerns about GPS signal issues
I don't want my robot wandering off into the field or visiting my neighbors. lol
Signal issues in different regions
55 meters is no problem. Mine is mounted on a roof of a building and I can get 700 meters.
Issues with mower blades getting clogged
les lames ne tournent plus du à l'herbe qui ce coince au niveau des petites lames.
Concerns over the reliability of cable vs. camera-based systems
Also we have some island type obstacles/no go zones that we need set up, so also here it seems that navigation without cable will save us some time.
Skepticism about self-mapping capabilities of competitors
I watched a few installation videos on YouTube and there's plenty of human intervention needed.
Discussion on user experience and reliability
I have my 5000 since April and am very happy with it.
User experiences with early models
I thought about buying the 5000, but am waiting until next year to decide on a robot mower to see which one comes out ahead.
Discussion about theft prevention features
No wonder his grass always looks perfect.
they're completely useless without the base dock and the buried wire perimeter so they're not worth much to a thief.
Moving house.
Nothing but it’s just kinda stupid to steal.
User anticipation for a robotics software engineer position
Fingies crossed, send yo energy so I can get a cush dev job and play lots of golf.
User humor about the challenges of using robotic mowers.
The tedious part is putting it together on the computer 😂
