Snoop's Take

The Mini Pool Table by Hey! Play! is a compact 20-inch tabletop billiards game designed for casual play and beginners. It comes fully equipped with all necessary accessories, making it an ideal choice for family entertainment and learning the basics of pool. Consumer feedback highlights its affordability and portability, with users noting that "the play time and entertainment we are getting from this table is enormous." Many find it a great starting point for learning, stating, "Practicing on it yesterday helped me win a league game later that night." However, some users caution that it may not satisfy more serious players due to its MDF construction and limited durability. Overall, the Mini Pool Table is recommended for those seeking a fun and easy-to-transport game for lighthearted play but may not be the best fit for experienced players looking for a quality practice table.

Sounds like you're making excuses to justify a bad purchase tbh... everything he said is accurate about slate tables.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Affordable option for small spaces
the play time and entertainment we are getting from this table is enormous.
i like the idea but would not spend more then 300$ on it, imo.
Good for beginners and practice
Practicing on it yesterday helped me win a league game later that night.
For a low skill/beginner player this table was great.
Includes all necessary accessories
Whats the best pool app game? Looking for an alternative to 8ball pool to see whats out there.
Portable and easy to transport
The most frustrating thing about playing with rules like this is that some people will intentionally scratch to hinder the opponent in a situation where limiting placement of the ball would be advantageous, hoping to win off of the other person scratching on the 8 ball.
Fun toy for casual play
What do you all think of these smaller 4ft folding tables? For my house, it's the perfect size (not too big, not too small) and I can easily carry it to the garden when the weather's nice.
Congrats on the table man, really. If it fit well in your budget, fits your living space and you enjoy it, that's all that matters currently.
Good starting point for learning
It wasn’t perfect, and was slow as molasses, but helped immensely with my angles when I was just learning.
I got a 6 ft MDF table too and it plays fine and I’m learning a lot.
Portable and fits well in small spaces
having fun is the main thing about pool.
Good for kids and beginners
I don’t regret buying mine, for example. But I’m much happier now that I’ve got a slate table.
Affordable option for home entertainment
Wasn’t long before I ditched it and found myself a Gandy Big G for $500.

Not suitable for advanced players
Sounds like you're making excuses to justify a bad purchase tbh... everything he said is accurate about slate tables.
Yikes $600 for a table that can't be re-covered sounds awful since it's basically a disposable product.
Not suitable for serious players
My work has a similar table, and honestly it makes even your average bar table seem pro level.
It’s better than nothing bud.
Limited quality and durability concerns
just have fun and be happy that you got a pool table in your house.
It'll be plywood. Thin ply at that.
Mdf is kid toy tier tables. If you’re desperate it can work, but it doesn’t play the same nor will it have any longevity or resale value.
I have never played on an mdf table but a friend of me did a few days before he played on my slate table and he said that it's so much more fun on slate.
Tables are not suitable for practice or enjoyment
I bought a table long time ago that I thought would be a decent practice.
You will not get quality practice or enjoyment out of these tables, you say you want to practice then you need a quality table.
MDF construction is considered low quality
Do not buy anything that is MDF.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Debate on the value of different table materials
There are no "pros" to MDF other than lightweight and cheaper when new.
Discussion on material differences in tables
MDF seems to be much cheaper but I guess the table warping might be a big concern right??

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Request for trick shots demonstration
Trick shots next please? 🙂 the crazier the better but I'd like to see just how sharp/focused it's depth perception and "english" is when used.
Discussion on the social aspect of playing billiards
Oh how I miss playing Billiards!!
All the leagues dried up around me, plus I got tired of shooting in and on nasty bar tables lol
I find bar tables to be fun, but for a different game entirely. When I play in a pub, I throw strategy to the wind and just go for some awesome shots that would only even come up if you just weren't paying attention.
My family owns one, an old Zenith that still works but the table top has been worn down though time, so hitting the edges and getting your accurate shots is a pain in the butt.
Discussion about the fun of smaller tables
Hours of fun on both.
it’s an absolute blast.
It's a blast, I'm 5' 3" Tall and can real almost anywhere on the table so it's a bit of different feel.

Discussion on space and budget constraints
I recommend the table because I enjoy it. I look forward to playing on it. It has improved my game.
But in the meantime this suits my needs, I have fun, and it has improved my game.
Concerns about space and cue size requirements
Overall I believe it depends who is playing and what expectations you have from the table.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Comment on robotics and computer vision in billiards
That is a premium display of hobbies. Great use of robotics and computer vision, a passion of mine.
Nostalgia for online pool games
The upper view brings me back to the days of "yahoo pool"....fuck I'm old...
General nostalgia for pool games
My complete review of the $600 GoSports "portable" pool table
Discussion about alternatives to pool games
There’s nothing more realistic than making a 26 rail bank shot it 8-ball pool!
Try Pool Stars, it's pretty decent.
Not pool but Snooker Stars has the best physics of any billiard game I’ve ever played.

Discussion on house rules in billiards
The most frustrating thing about playing with rules like this is that some people will intentionally scratch to hinder the opponent in a situation where limiting placement of the ball would be advantageous
The funny thing is that ball-in-hand is a really fair way to punish scratching at with different severity at different skill levels.
General debate on pool rules and fairness
if the CB is frozen to the rail you can separate the CB a distance equal to the butt of your cue.
Pool is a hopeless case unless and until the World Pool Association rules are accepted universally.
