Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about alignment tools and their effectiveness
this Gyraline may be a good solution.
I'd just get an angle finder app and a tape or one of the $50 setups that's worked for decades off amazon/ebay instead.
Does the $159 software tell you all car specs? Can you do all cars and trucks up to 2024?
I was hoping you nice people might help me alleviate my concerns.
Discussion on the ease of removing wheels and setting chain tension.
Taking wheels off is simple and easy; installing the rear tire requires properly aligning the rear wheel and also setting the proper chain tension which can take a while.
Discussion about necessary tools for tire changing
I far as I can tell I'll be fine with the prying irons for the tire itself, a socket wrench to get it all off, and a stand or something to hold the bike up.
Being able to change a tire is a must have skill of you're planning any long trips on the KLR, and isnt a hard skill.
Don't underestimate breaking the bead. Certain tires can be a bear.
If your new tire is directional make sure you put in on in the proper orientation.
Discussion about the necessity of alignment when changing tires
I'm getting my tires changed soon and I'm not too mechanically knowledgeable.
Tires/wheels should be balanced when installed.

Insight on alternative bike options for recumbent-curious cyclists
Many people go right for the trike when they are looking at recumbents for the first time, and it's a big shame because we are slowly losing many amazing recumbent bike manufacturers to the trike popularity.

Discussion on necessity of frequent alignments
Honda dealer insisted on all wheel alignment on my car (costed 190$) but was before measurement really bad that needed urgent fix?
Alignment with every oil change???? That’s like going to the dentist everytime you take a shit!
The correct translation of "you should do an alignment with every oil change" is "my boat payments are killing me".
$200 at Firestone for lifetime alignment. I get mine done every 6,000 miles.
Discussion about wheel balancing and its necessity
Good value wheel balancer? I just picked up a Rabaconda tire changer for myself and I'm researching tire balancers.
Jesus Christ on a stick, you guys aren’t balancing your wheels?
I leave the weights on from whoever balanced it years ago. Been doing this since I started riding and I have never felt any vibrations.
It works absolutely fine and I can’t see any reason to upgrade.
Mention of different tire mounting prices and options.
So should I just find a stand and pull them off myself?
Should just pull the rim off.
Discussion on the necessity of frequent alignments
Forgot the pinch bolt on the front fork after getting new tires, that caused the bike to pull.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about steering issues and alignment problems in general.
I’ve went to like 3 different mechanics and still can’t find my my steering wheel is shaking, vibrating and hard to steer, I can also feel vibrations in the floorboard.
Those alignment numbers are atrocious, did they give you another alignment sheet? That may be the “before” page.
An alignment will not cause shaking. If you have a bent tie rod then other parts such as the wheel or hub are likely bent, which would cause shaking.
Discussion about potential causes of vibrations, including alignment and bearings.
Vibrations on handle bars I just bought a gsxr 750 2011 with 20k miles on it.
Bearings could be a factor or an alignment.
Inline 4cyl bikes will always feel more buzzy in the handlebars at certain rpm compared with parallel twin engines.
Discussion about manual tire changing techniques and frustrations
Ask me anything about manual tire change using zip tie method.
On an easy scale of 1 to the standard: “I’m going to fucking frisbee this whole wheel off a fucking cliff as soon as I find one” how would you rate it?
Will just use zip ties and floppier tires from now on. Dealers are a joke.
This post doesn't cover the balancing procedure. There's hundreds of good vids on YT explaining all the details.
General skepticism about the need for balancing
Pff wheel balancing, service manuals, torque wrenches. That stuff is for snowflakes.
I don't even bother balancing my wheels
You guys balance your wheels?
Discussion about rear camber adjustment limitations
I just want to be sure I’m not slowly destroying my front suspension.
if in factory condition the rear camber cannot be adjusted without camber arms.
Basically what will happen is you’ll still have negative camber however it’ll be even side to side.
Discussion about alignment issues in general.
The belt easily moves at the back end, but it seems stuck in the top left corner at the front.
I was able to get it to mostly align itself after some truly serious adjustments with the tension bolts, but I couldn’t get it to stay aligned consistently for more than a couple minutes at a time.
Discussion on treadmill belt tension and alignment issues.
It was centered when I was working on calibration, where there is no user walking on the treadmill.
they mentioned that the belt should be able to lift around 2 inches, if less than that considered too tight?
2 3/4” to 3” is standard for most treadmills.
everytime before i use the treadmill, i will let the machine itself to do the calibration thing, and ya it always able to get back to center.
Discussion on trustworthiness of alignment notches
Rear wheel alignment I've got about 800 miles on my 2023 650 and as I was checking chain slack yesterday, I noticed that my rear wheel seem to be out of alignment by almost a half a notch.
I had the same thing happen on my 2023, notches weren't identical so I aligned it with the notches. Rode for a couple days but stuck in the back of my mind was how much I can trust it, so I bought the motion pro tool.
Concerns about alignment affecting performance
I follow the notches the best I can and I also use a motion pro alignment tool.
Discussion about steering issues and alignment problems in general
worn tie rod is usually the cause of "side to side" play.
Looks like the other tire is moving too.
Bike pulls/leans to the right I wrecked my bike last year.
Crowning of the road for water drainage will make your bike want to go to the outside edge the way water would.
Discussion about the distinction between trike types (tadpoles vs deltas)
Most of the 'negatives' expressed about trikes are about 'tadpoles' - not 'deltas'.

Swingarm marks are plenty accurate for tire alignment.
