Positive Feedback

It looks very similar to the Lanshan 2 but it weights about 500g more and I think it comes pre seam sealed.

Durable and puncture-resistant material
The material doesn't feel cheap even though it is one of the more inexpensive backpacking tents.
I know a lot of these backpacking kitties hang out on their person's shoulders/pack when not hiking, but that doesn't work very well with my cat.
Comfortable and breathable design
I have a cat backpack for my cat and shes perfectly okay in there.
Large capacity and multiple compartments
Would a cat realistically enjoy this?

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about features of different hiking packs
What does the community think about wither of these? We are flying blind but figured 65L was the right size for a 2 night hike and will enable him to carry a tent and sleeping bag (already purchased).
The Entrada isn’t really designed for hiking, it’s designed for travel overseas. It’s got unnecessary features and is quite heavy, and possibly not as comfortable for hiking.
If your kid's DoE walks are all on established tracks that's one thing... even then - go cheap/secondhand/durable is my advice, and yeah, 65L seems good.
Which Osprey pack would be your suggestion? The Macpac 60L is 40%off atm
Interest in non-company reviews
Late response but thank you for posting, been looking for review videos by someone who isn’t the company itself lol.
Hi Everyone! I was hoping to start taking my older cat out for picnics and walks this summer using a cat backpack! Before I purchased anything though, I was wondering if anyone has any particular brands/products that they had success with in the past.
I bought the L mesh with shade backpack and it is great so far with nice straps for chest and waist.

Does the carbon fiber frame and steel wire really help the carrier keep its shape?

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about cat-friendly hiking trips
I understand that I won’t be able find something that checks all of the boxes, but here is what I’m looking for in order of priority:
Coyotes, other wild cats, hawks, poisonous snakes, the list actually goes on, of the many reasons, I personally wouldn’t take the cats that I love on a one day hike, let alone, 2 days.
Discussion about various camping gear setups
This is my second summer with this gear from my backpacking setup.
Discussion about the suitability of backpacks for cats
It depends on the cat! But I recommend a backpack that uses mesh rather than plastic bubbles for better ventilation, like the PetAmi backpacks for example.
We have two cats who each have their own backpack with mesh sides and they LOVE them. Like, they nap in them, they love it when we take walks with them and they can just chill and watch the world go by, they feel totally safe.
I'm currently training my kitten to accept a cat backpack. I want to use it to carry her to the park for walks.
I have one for travel, I live in a very populated city and it’s hard to avoid walking into people in train stations (well it was) so he was safer from being jostled in the hard sided backpack.

Questions about comparison to other tents

Questions about upgrading gear before buying a new pack
You don’t need anything special for day hiking.
Recommendations for suitable backpacking trails
Just wanted advice on trails that are going to have good water access with the dry weather we’ve been having as well as plenty of primitive campsites.
It has some amazing scenery that will for sure stick in the little one's memory for life.
Questions about insulation needs for hammocks
Does it have some sort of built in insulation? Otherwise, you cannot leave your sleeping pad at home, because the air will suck just as much of your heat as the ground, especially if there is any wind.
Inquiry about underquilt setup for winter camping
Does anyone know how to put an underquilt on this lay flat hammock for winter camping?

Planning backpacking routes accommodating for pets
so much so that I’m just skipping Florida entirely.
Questions about comparison to other backpacks
As long as your cat isn't too much of a chonk this one works well.
Discussion on cleaning cat urine from backpacks
I feel I might end up ruining the bag but equally it's no longer usable as on the last trip I used it, the contents smelt like.. yup you've guessed it.. cat pee!
Took it to the dry cleaner (I had a crazy allergic reaction and didn't want to clean it myself), and boom, no smell.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about ultralight packs and their limitations
Am I better to get a light-ultralight overnight pack and use it as a day pack or just get one for day and one for overnight.
Ultralight packs tend to have lower (sometimes *much* lower) max weight carry capacity, because they are only built to carry an ultralight gearloadout.
You gotta have your gear dialed in though since its a frameless pack, it does not handle heavy carries good.
Discussion about the challenges and considerations of hiking with cats
Best cat backpack for hiking? Was wondering if anyone here had suggestions for a good cat backpack carrier for hiking? I’ve tried a couple, they tend to hurt my back and shoulders.
Your cat is not a toy to keep you company on a hike and unless you are 100% confident that stuffing them in a bag will make them safer and happier — and "they might like it" is not 100% — then I will argue until I'm blue in the face that you shouldn't do it, for the sake of the cat.
We take our cat loads of places. Hiking, friend's house, outdoor shops near us, wherever. We always use the same cat carrier, and we always bring items that our cat can use for security if she starts to feel overwhelmed (which usually only happens when rude folks come and invade her space without asking us first). The cat *loves* it.
Discussion about hiking with pets
Let's hope you don't run into the guy backpacking with his pigeon.
A guy who backpacks with a pigeon? Tell me more
He also had this big clear dome on top of his pack obviously for the cat but the cat had to be 30lbs.
