Snoop's Take

The Okian Panini Press Grill and Sandwich Maker is a multifunctional kitchen appliance designed to create delicious paninis and grilled foods with ease. Featuring a unique 180-degree open design, it allows users to switch from a sandwich press to a flat grilling surface, accommodating various cooking needs. Consumer sentiment has highlighted some concerns about the grill's versatility. One user noted, "Cast iron skillet + foil brick is all you ever need to make a great pressed sandwich," suggesting that this panini press may not meet the expectations of those looking for a more versatile grilling solution. Despite its compact size and ease of use, some feedback indicates that users might prefer traditional methods for certain cooking tasks. While the Okian Panini Press Grill offers convenience and a space-saving design, it may not fully satisfy those seeking a multi-functional grill with greater versatility. Based on the feedback, potential buyers should consider their specific needs before purchasing this product in its category.

Recommendations for making better sandwiches
While sandwich shop owners are here, I have some universal recommendations so your sandwiches don't suck as much.
Good quality plates.
Any Suggestions for a sandwich maker that isn't pizza or grilled cheese? All I've been eating are pizza toasties and yes those are end slices.
You could probably make french toast with it as well.
Discussion about the preference for non-non-stick options
Finally learnt to make sourdough - now want to make paninis/toasties for my toddler and husband.
Have you thought about just getting a press that you can use with your existing steel or cast iron pans?
Using a pan. I usually use a dry stainless steel pan for toasties.
Did you find any OP? Husband really wants one in machine form!

Discussion about alternative methods for making pressed sandwiches
I hate the idea of spending crazy amounts of energy heating up the entire oven and the brick just to make a grilled cheese.
glass/metal bowl with water in it, in a panini maker with flat griddle (or propped up so its flat), use the griddle as a burner on a stovetop
there [is](https://youtu.be/HFDJDmgIZ3k?si=DmKcG_K_mMiCc8rv) a way to do this with a waffle maker though, so I think the real issue was execution lmao
Just use a frying pan so much better than pissing about with extra electrical clutter.

the foreman wins simply because it can cook pretty much anything I throw at it.
You can cook ANYTHING on a George Foreman.
I will do it and post pics.
Discussion about preferences between sandwich makers and panini presses
I am thinking of investing in either a sandwich maker or panini press. I cook mostly vegetarian at home, and I don't cook a lot - maybe once or twice a week, and I cook a large quantity that will last me 3-4 dinners.
The family and I use the panini press at least twice a week. In addition to wonderful sandwiches (even basic grilled cheese that the kid can make!) we like to do quesadillas.
Absolutely a panini press. You can cook things other than sandwiches on a panini press (i'm sure you could do the same with the former, but it would be odd).

Nostalgic memories of using sandwich makers
Recommendations on what to prepare with my Hamilton Beach Sandwich Maker I am about to have another baby, and according to my friend this sanwich maker will help with preparation of breakfast.
Ooo my family had one of these when I was growing up. Cheese sandwich (idk if it counts as a grilled cheese) but it always a favorite especially if the cheese oozed a little bit off the side of the bread and developed a nice crisp.
Wow. You just took me down memory lane!! Put mayo on the outside of the bread and it adds an extra crispy touch.
