What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Durable and effective design
Why not save the arm fatigue if possible so you are as still as can be when the shot comes
I don’t imagine having a gun on me and a bow seems pretty feasible to craft or even take with me as the gun laws here are strict.
Helps alleviate arm fatigue while hunting
They can be useful but not if you're not trained.
Comfortable and hands-free transport
Won't help you much, short of a perfect shot, against a gun or even a person ambushing you hand to hand.
There are no mountains in Missouri but I use a bow sling from Primos.
Comfortable and effective design
That is the sling I was looking at. The shoulder strap looked more comfortable for an all-day event.
Effective for hands-free transport
Have you considered a bow sling?
Just have to mess around with it a bit and find ways to attach the riser to existing loops on the pack with the straps or some bungees.
Quick access to the bow
I like the idea that it’s quick access and you don’t have to remove your pack to get the bow.
Works well and provides protection for the strings
Works really well.
Works great and provides protection for the strings.
Versatile use as a back sling
Works splendidly! I sometimes use it as a back sling too.
Good idea for stalking
I thought it was quite a good idea if you were stalking.
Highly recommended for long-distance travel
The primos sling is the sling to get if you want to travel long distances without a quick shot available.
Great overall quality
Primos bow sling is great.
Works well in conjunction with a backpack
Looking for a recommendation for a backpack with compound bow carrying abilities.
I use a primos bow sling, works good in conjunction to or without a backpack.
Easy to attach and carry
It attaches quickly and simply, and is easy to carry the bow.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Old design not favored by some users
Fairly old design, but it does good work for what it was designed for.
Making a decent bow is highly skilled - one side of the bow needs to be strong in compression and the other strong in expansion.
Doesn't work as well with parallel limb bows
they don't work as well as with older ones.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Alternative bow carrying methods discussed
I have a really long main stabilizer, so I just put my bow in my shoulders with my neck between the main stab and a hand draped over the end of the stabilizer.
I just use paracord braided into a flat woven pattern (three strands with figure-8 loops around them) with two loops at each end that hook over the Mathews SCS points.
Discussion on bow carrying methods
Newbie question: how do you carry your bow while hunting?
I also have a bow sling I have used before. It def helps but just have to watch out if you’re in thick stuff not to bump it too much.
In my opinion you’ve got to commit to hiking or hunting. You’re not going to do either well if you’re trying to do both the entire time.
Have your bow in hand when ready. It's like with a firearm, don't unsling it AFTER the rabbit runs.
Discussion on alternative bow carrying methods
I run a Stone Glacier but similarly don't have a sling/ bucket. I just strap two of the straps to the riser, one typically is at a point that keeps it from sliding up/down (sometimes I will wrap the strap once around the riser), and the other just keeps it from flopping around.

Are there bow carry backpacks? Looking for a backpack that also hold my compound bow while i go out hunting.
I bought a Horn Hunter pack in 2014 to elk hunt. Good for transit, but if the hunting was looking promising the bow was in my hand.
User experiences with attaching bows to packs
Idk what it's called, but it's a hook on the belt of the pack that you can basically rest the bow on while you hike.
Discussion on shoulder slings for compound bows
Anyone have any experience with shoulder slings for compound bows?

Warm gloves and Warm socks are 2 other things that are real nice to have.
