Really cool planting. Is this a no-filter tank, or is it internal and well hidden?
My fish was swimming in spicy water for 2 days.

For me, my air pumps just blend in with all the other humming… none of them are super loud.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Preference for other brands over Amazon options
Spend the extra $10 on an eheim.
the only one I’ve had experience with and would recommend is Hygger.
You can get 'python' style water changers from Amazon that work really well, for me at least.
the python is worth the premium - the hose it comes with is higher quality.
Lack of familiarity with the brand
It seems to be a German brand.
Research on aquarium biocycle and maintenance
Honestly this is the research most people don't think to do!

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Preference for quiet air pumps over noisy alternatives
How do people with sponge filters tolerate the hum of the air pump?
I'm using a Top Fin air pump that's dead quiet, or at least it's no louder than my Fluval canister pump.
the 80 gph one is very quiet, the 75 and below are loud.
Seems like it would cost less to get a 5 or 10 gallon tank than it would to get a new filter.
Concerns about humidity levels for reptiles
It looks very nice, but wont this make the enclosure too humid for your gecko?
Concerns about the impact of food on aquarium conditions
You need a good nitrate/nitrite/ammonia balance, which is created by bacteria that take time to colonize.
Now, if it was in there rotting and decaying for 2 weeks, I'd be concerned.
General fish care and tank dynamics discussion
Good job saving me several minutes of googling.
Glad OPs fishy will be fine.
