“I work quite long hours across multiple time zones sometimes, on very uncommon occasions I do shift work, I do have to travel for work time to time, I’m an in-shape muscular 33 year old 100kg 5”9 male who snores and has struggled with fatigue during the day for a long time. I train weights and would be considered a bodybuilder looks wise, so recovery is important to me. My work can also be quite stressful so stress management is important to me, something I believe good sleep plays a massive role in. I have weighed anywhere between 94-118kg in the last 4 years (thanks to Covid kilos). Snoring was markedly worse at heavier weights but I still would snore around lighter weights or if I would eat close to bed. At times I’ve generally felt like a mouth breather and found it difficult to breathe through my nose, with a ‘stuffy’ feeling. I’ve had a sleep study performed in the past with no real indication of anything more than very mild sleep apnea. I also struggle (well my partner does) with me talking in my sleep, and in the past sexsomnia.. I’ve been using the breathe right nasal strips bought off iHerb this last fortnight (saves a few dollars compared to buying from a pharmacy in Australia). I was skeptical but thought I’d give them a go. The first time as I put the strip on a couple hours pre bed I noticed an instant improvement in nasal breathing. Sleeping that night was one of the most restorative sleeps I’ve had in a long time. This has been the case with every night I’ve used the strips also. One noteworthy affect it seems to be having is I find I can get away with less sleep (maybe I’m getting better REM sleep?) my partner hasn’t complained about my snoring since. I’ve been going to bed anywhere between 830pm and 10pm depending on the day, my usual alarm wake up time is 3-4am on work days but I’m ready to get moving at about 4-5am now without an alarm. I’d love to just wear these things all the time during the day. When I wfh I wear them as long as I can, but I avoid going out in public wearing them - not that they look anything worse than a couple steri-strips. I would definitely recommend giving these a go for someone who isn’t getting anywhere with diagnosis and is someone who snores. Just make sure you give the nose skin a good wipe beforehand with something that cleans the oils off or just have a shower. 10/10 would recommend if you were struggling a bit like me (and for our partners sakes!).”➕
