Snoop's Take

The Three Triping Spotting Scope for Bird Watching offers a remarkable 25-75x85 magnification, making it ideal for bird watching, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures. With features such as an 85mm objective lens that enhances low-light viewing and a dual focus system, this spotting scope is designed for optimal clarity and detail in various environments. Consumers have highlighted the scope's "great optical performance for clarity" and noted its effectiveness for distant observation, stating, "they are great for waterfowl and shorebirds." Many users recommend investing in a high-quality tripod for stability, as the scope performs best when paired with the right accessories. Despite some critiques regarding higher zoom levels and the need for a stable setup, the overall sentiment is positive with users appreciating the detailed viewing experience it offers, especially in bright conditions. Based on the feedback, the Three Triping Spotting Scope is highly recommended for those seeking a reliable and quality spotting scope for bird watching and outdoor activities. Its strengths in optical performance and user-friendly accessories make it a competitive choice in its category.

Positive Feedback

Don’t get any of those bottom end Canadian tire/Walmart/amazon brands.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Great optical performance for clarity
My problem is that I'm not sure the best way to carry it.
Over shoulder mostly. Make sure you get a lightweight carbon-fiber tri.
If, by chance, you happened to summit Emory around 4:10pm that day, I got a picture of you through my spotting scope.
Lightweight options recommended for carrying
Thanks for the input! I definitely need to put in the time/money to get one of the carbon fiber tripods haha
Backpack with the tripod strapped to the bottom of the bag. More often than not it stays in the trunk unless I know I'm going somewhere with high visibility.
Spotting scopes are critical for hunting and range
Spotting scopes are so critical and underrated.
Good optical quality is essential for spotting scopes
Anything cheaper is going to be disappointing
High magnification for detailed viewing
we can see individual trees up to 17 miles or more away, though the image quality isn’t as good as with the Zeiss binocs
Best budget spotting scope for around 200-400$ ? Hello! I am interested in getting a high zoom spotting scope for far distance birdwatching and sea birds.
Complete accessories for convenience
The scope worked great but we ended up getting a taller tripod for it.
Effective for distant observation
Even then, there’s never a guarantee that there’ll be a time where it’s “worth it” to bust it out and set it up.
They are great for waterfowl and shorebirds, or for monitoring fixed points like raptor nests.
Good optical performance for high magnification
I imagine the moon will look nice but will I be able to make out rings of Saturn with 20-60x mag and a 50-90mm objective?
I can pull out the rings of Saturn and moons on Jupiter.
I was able to just barely pick out the rings of Saturn and a hint of Jupiter's cloud bands, tiny though they were.
Large objective lens provides bright images
At 20-60x magnification, you can barely make out details on planets.
High quality optics provide incredible detail
the quality was incredible.
I wouldn't waste money on anything less than a $800 scope.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Low-end spotting scopes have poor focus and build quality
Don’t get any of those bottom end Canadian tire/Walmart/amazon brands.
Struggles with optical clarity at higher zoom levels
Personally I’d save up and try to get a used razor
Need for a stable tripod for effective use
they are more or less useless without a good tripod with locking gimbals so figure that into your plans.
High cost compared to cameras
There's a ton of secondhand stuff available on FB Marketplace near me, but I've made myself dizzy with zoom numbers and lens sizes.
Recommendation against cheap scopes due to poor optical quality
the bigger and more expensive the glass, the more you’ll be able to see and the easier it will be to use.
Not suitable for wildlife at short distances
the scope you're looking at doesn't seem well suited for wildlife at long distances, and you don't really need a scope for an animal 100 yards away.

Spotting scopes considered luxury items
it would be nice to have something a little bit nicer with maybe a ranging reticle that won't completely break the bank
Good glass is good glass, and it’s a huge part of the price of optics/binos/spotting scopes/etc., and there’s no real easy way around it.

Different carrying methods discussed
For long distances get a soft case for it.
I use a soft case for it with an overshoulder strap.
The scope and tripod rest on my dominant shoulder, balancing with the scope over my back and the tripod directly infront of me.
Recommendations for budget optics
while hoping we can find them like I found my $600 Viper PST G2.... lol
Skip right over the cheap garbage.
sometimes having fuzzy 60x is nicer than crystal clear 20x.
Debate on upgrading to better scopes
If you're shooting paper, skip the upgrade until you can buy something worthwhile, and buy a stack of shoot-n-see or similar targets in the meantime.
I have been using an Athlon Talos. It’s about 200 dollars. It does have some limitations.
Buy once cry once, plus the other range we can go to once we are comfortable at 500 goes out to 1300.
Suggestions for finding good deals on used optics
Lots of those spotters got lifetime transferable warranties so previous abuse is less of an issue.
