What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Durable and long-lasting
they've lasted several years now with no visible clouding or any issues whatsoever.
IMO, TYC is one of the better aftermarket brands for headlight/taillight assemblies.
Fog lights enhance road visibility in poor weather
Fog lights are really only useful when visibility is under 100 feet, and they only help when they illuminate the area immediately around the car (not way in front).
TYC provides OEM quality lights
Lot of insurance companies will want TYC. They make the closest thing to OEM quality.
I work at a body shop and I use TYC when I can. They are the best aftermarket HL supplier.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Fit may require adjustments
Unless you're getting a true OEM light you may be adjusting clips out anyways to ensure a tight fit.
Fog lights often cannot be used independently
if you can activate them independently they are pretty useful, however most (none?) are setup that way from the factory.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Mention of specific TYC part numbers
Wow, sounds dead simple. I guess it's finally time to replace the passenger side fog light on my 2011.
Good thing I did because one of the screws on the original unit is stuck. Probably could have gotten it out, but if I chewed it up I would have been .. screwed.

Discussion about mod customizations
Custom signal lights I had those integrated signal & brake but i think this look better... any thoughts?
What mod is this? How bright is it in daylight?
Is there a link to this mod? Also interested
Discussion about DIY light setups
Diy turn signals beta turn signals This is what I came up with as an easy low profile light setupsetup when I was getting bikes plated.
Nice! Great to know!.
I’ve got a 22 500 RRS I’ve been wanting to swap the turn signals out on.
excellent - bookmarking this.
Discussion about alternatives and customizations
Link is a bit long, and I hope it works for those interested.
Most of the aftermarket tail light assembly's on Amazon do not show a shot of the internals of the assembly, or indicate that they do not come with the clips.
Discussion on replacing fog lights
I am not car inclined but my 2015 honda fit passenger foglight needs replaced due to the glass being shattered.
Bumper removal ain't difficult. It's easier to borrow a friend to help popping tabs to get it off and then have them help you align it getting it back on, but you could solo it, just take your time.
Just gently work around the trim till the tabs release. Then unscrew the fog light as shown in the video.
Discussion about DIY replacement options
Would that be advisable? Is replacement the only option, does anyone know?
Just let your lights dry up then seal it with silicone? It’ll save you hundreds and you still have your OEM headlights.

Comparison with other aftermarket options
Anybody have experience with these? I’m also open to aftermarket suggestions, I’ll just need two if I go that route.
Look much better than the older style lenses.
Mention of alternatives from other brands
Noted, got a set of Depos in the cart now. Thanks!
Advice on removing trim pieces
I have personally done this replacement on my 2015 GK5 a few times.
Discussion on state laws regarding fog light usage
IIRC some US state laws prohibit driving with just the fog lights on
There’s a lot of cities here where running fog lights in addition to regular headlights are illegal.
Variability in fog light functionality across different car models
It entirely depends on the car. My Fords can do parking and fogs, my Miata requires headlights.
Comparison of TYC with other brands
Best quality replacement headlight manufacturer?
Discussion about OEM vs aftermarket preferences
I have an ‘02 Tahoe as well. I’m a fan of OEM parts but the headlights in that post are pretty close to OEM.
General discussion about headlight replacements
Thanks in advance.
I ordered a pair off of RockAuto, still holding up.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on customization challenges
Custom headlights Just a warning to anyone in North America thinking about attempting to crack open their headlights to customize them, from what I can tell EU headlights (which is where all the videos of the process were filmed) were sealed with either a different material altogether, or used FAR less permaseal than NA headlights.
Mention of potential recalls for Prius headlights
There was a recall on Prius headlights of that era.
Discussion about car brake issues
Brakes made a 'pop' when I tried to stop at a read light.
Slamming on the brakes will cause the nose of your car to dive and the struts to compress hard, the struts and strut mounts can create a loud pop.
All kinds of things could be related from suspension issues to even a brake pad being thrown.
Upvoted for spelling brakes the right way,2 times!
Mention of potential issues with bulbs and housing
they dim over time. Switch to LED's but whatever you do dont buy bulbs from auxbeam.
