Many users have praised its effectiveness, stating, "We have eczema in our family and this has been great to avoid aggravating it," showcasing its gentle nature for both babies and adults. Also agree on the entire family switching, bc leftover detergent from a previous wash can cause irritation if baby is particularly sensitive.

Positive Feedback

It also makes no sense why a baby detergent would have such intense fragrance? Babies don't smell bad.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Gentle on sensitive skin
Also agree on the entire family switching, bc leftover detergent from a previous wash can cause irritation if baby is particularly sensitive.
I have super sensitive skin so I’ve used this for 15+ years and we just wash baby’s stuff with ours.
Yeah we just started using this one for everyone because one of my twins started having a reaction to something.
I just hate how my clothes smell lol.
Highly recommended for babies
My brother and I have always been allergic to Tide, never a problem with All!
Highly recommended by dermatologists
I believe it's recommended by the National Eczema Association as well as the Canadian one!
Works fine for sensitive skin
Works fine, no issues at all!
Never caused any issues for our son.
We’ve always used our regular free and clear detergent.
I switched from dreft pretty early on and it didn’t have any effect on my LO.
Effective for all family laundry
I just use it on all laundry so I don’t have to worry about keeping things separate.
When I run out I’ll just use ours and hopefully save some money :)
It’s great to not have to sort clothes for different detergents or have to switch up what we were already using.
I just used free&clear rather than Dreft or another baby specific one.
Good cleaning power with less detergent
It honesty is a really good detergent, and I rarely have to use stain remover in addition.
You usually only need about a tablespoon of detergent per load.
Long-lasting formula
It cleaned well.
Recommended for babies
Baby skin is a bit more sensitive (sometimes) but the key here is you have to wash everything with baby detergent otherwise it still has regular detergent residue.
Effective cleaning power with less detergent
Yep. We switched to All from Tide because it goes on bogo a lot at Publix so it ends up being like… 1/5 of the price of Tide.
No harsh fragrances
the smell of Dreft detergent definitely a huge deterrent.
Effective for baby's sensitive skin
I use all free and clear and it’s been the best thing for my baby’s skin.
No need for separate baby detergent
You do not need separate detergent unless you’re washing your clothes in really scented stuff.
No, Dreft is a scam.
Effective for sensitive skin
Nope. Don't waste the money.
This works for everybody!
No issues
it’s fine 🤷🏼‍♀️ if her skin seemed irritated I would change it but it doesn’t!
Fragrance-free option is appreciated
We used this and still do too.
Preference for fragrance-free products
I prefer a fragrance free product myself.
Now when I smell regular detergent it’s wayyyy too strong for me.
No irritation reported
Never irritated my skin.
I've had no issues with them.
Effective for fragrance allergies
I’m really struggling to find a laundry detergent that is “fragrance free” and NOT unscented or some free and clear scented product.
Gentle and suitable for babies
We have used All Free and Clear for years and it's done well for us when we have babies, and now for our kids.
Free and clear is cheaper than dreft and is actually free of scents so more gentle.
Safe for sensitive skin
should I be using something else? What happens if I use our regular detergent for LO’s things?
if baby had sensitive skin then I'd use something baby specific, but it hasn't been an issue.
So far, no reaction, however I do not use dryer sheets on baby items.
Good for all family laundry
We were using Tide but the Target brand Up and Up works the same and costs a few bucks less.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Fragrance can cause irritation
It also makes no sense why a baby detergent would have such intense fragrance? Babies don't smell bad.
Fragrance-free does not feel as clean
Things just don’t smell clean to me with fragrance free, and they don’t stay “fresh” as long.
"Fragrance free" does not mean *smell free*.
Fragrance-free may not feel as clean
Yes it can fuck with a lot of fabrics.
Baby detergent is a scam, but it smells good.
Why are so many baby things scented?
Detergent leaves residue on clothes
I just cant get the detergent rinsed out of my clothes.
All is a joke. It’s like washing your clothes with some chemical that does nothing and won’t rinse out!
Ineffective compared to other brands
Free and clear just means the formulation avoids certain chemicals (eg fragrance).
Perceived need for separate baby laundry
Is baby detergent really necessary?
Skepticism about necessity of baby detergent
Honestly baby detergent feels like a marketing ploy to prey on anxious parents.
Unscented option may not feel as clean
I feel like the clothes could be cleaner.
my kids’ clothes are still really dirty and smelly after washing.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on the effectiveness of hypoallergenic brands
The ones marketed for babies are so ridiculously priced and are the exact same thing as any of the detergents labeled as free & gentle.
It's just a marketing tactic.
Discussion on differences between free and clear detergents
Free and clear just means no fragrance and no dye in the detergent.
Discussion about product consistency
it flowed straight out like water, smelled of nothing bc it’s unscented.
we had a problem with people buying/stealing those big jugs, emptying them at home, refilling them with water, and returning them.
Preference for unscented and undyed detergents
I hate smelly clothes.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about using detergent for various laundry types
I’m assuming that I won’t be using my Tide with Bleach on baby clothes.
I found them because I was looking for an unscented detergent that promises to work in cold water.
Discussion about using less detergent
you only need a tablespoon or two, NOT half a cap or whatever it says on the bottle.
Discussion on using dryer sheets and fabric softeners
Baby has not had any skin problems using those two things in addition to Dreft detergent.
Never really felt like I needed them.
Discussion on alternatives for fragrance-free detergents
https://www.armandhammer.com/en/laundry/liquid-laundry-detergent/liquid-laundry-detergent/sensitive-
charlie’s soap! i live and die by it :)
Tide has an unscented version of their hygienic clean heavy duty laundry detergent, it's really good.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Preference for using same detergent for all family members
Most detergent that is marketed towards babies is just your average fragrance free detergent, but repackaged and marked up in price.
I also don't think it's any different from Free & Clear.
I figured that I wasn't washing all my clothes, blankets, towels, etc in special laundry detergent, and the baby would be spending lots of time snuggled up with those.
Preference for washing all clothes together
I've been doing that for the past 3 months but I'm so tempted to wash her stuff with our stuff with the tide pods ... Lol I'm tired 🥴
free and clear, nothing fancy
I used a big jug of Dreft and once that ran out we switched to washing with our free & clear detergent 🤷🏼‍♀️
I still keep her clothes separate because folding and putting away is the bane of my existence.
Consideration of switching detergents
Thinking of switching to powder detergent -- Nellies laundry soda.
Discussion about alternatives to detergent scents
I can’t relate to the scent free “smell” but have you ever considered using a drop or two or essential oil instead of scented products?
Perception of baby-specific detergent pricing
Not just for babies, and works great.
Discussion on necessity of baby detergent
Is baby detergent really necessary? Is it that different than regular laundry detergent?
Preference for using the same detergent for all family members
We did the preliminary laundry in baby detergent but realized he didn’t have any reactions to our clothes or other things not washed special so we made the change.
We use Tide Free and Clear for the whole family (baby is 4.5 mos) and have had zero issues!
More than anything...I don’t want to have to keep 2 types of detergent and run 2 types of loads...
Discussion about necessity of baby detergent
Do we REALLY need baby detergent?
Varied opinions on using regular detergent
I just use unscented and uncolored detergent for everyones clothes.
Preference for alternative brands
You can use about half of the recommended amount, it works great and lasts forever.
One jug lasts me a year or more.
Recommendations for alternative brands
I have had good luck with the up and up target brand free and clear.
Tide Free and Gentle liquid rinses out really easily.
Discussion on the necessity of baby-specific detergent
Best detergent for babies that isn't just "formulated for babies" like deft brand.
Frankly, the fact that scented laundry products exist at all is baffling to me.
Discussion on necessity of baby laundry detergent
Is the special, baby laundry detergent necessary?
Mention of other preferred brands
I like the Attitude baby laundry detergent, it’s unscented and Canadian!
Attitude or Nellie's Laundry Soda are my go-to's.
I use Nellie’s laundry soda for all the laundry including baby ones and it's on sale right now at Costco.
Discussion on effectiveness of using less detergent
Biggest thing you can do to save money is stop using so much detergent.
Preference for buying whatever brand is on sale
Just buy whatever is on sale and use less than recommended.
Discussion on necessity of separate baby detergent
Baby will be exposed to regular detergent through your clothing and blankets, so it doesn't make sense to use separate soaps.
Discussion about alternatives to common laundry detergents
White Vinegar! It cleans and softens and won’t leave a scent.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about baby-specific detergents
All is actually the brand! I wanted to use the powder but our laundry room is too humid and it got clumpy.
Concerns about using scented products for babies
That fragrance free smell just doesn't have the same clean feeling as an actual scent if you know what I mean.
Concerns about using too much detergent
evaluate how much detergent you use- a lot of people use too much.
Concerns about fragrance in baby laundry detergents
Finding detergent shouldn’t be this hard lol.
Anything that says Free & Clear, mostly I use kirkland from Costco.
We use Tide free and clear with no issues!
Suggestions for improving detergent performance
I'm a huge Biz fan because of the enzymes.
Walmart usually has it in the laundry aisle next to Oxiclean.
Concerns about laundry detergent being mostly water
Plus, we have soft water, but I do tend to doubt my laundry purchases (is it really mostly water?)
