Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on engine cooling and radiator operation
Nah, it's meant to deal with major temperature fluctuations because that's it's entire job; take hot coolant and use cold(er) air to cool said coolant to below normal operating temperature.
Correct, but this a gradual change over time. Hose water is no where near that temp, so introducing a really hot substance to a very cold fluid (in comparison) is basically having two thermal extremes meet. You know what happens when that happens, right?
It's true - if you've just allowed much of your fluid to boil out leaving a bare hot aluminum shell - and you pour cold water in - I could definitely see it cracking. A lot would depend on the temperature difference but it's a non 0 risk - old radiators crack all the time and develope thin spots from corrosion etc.
Discussion on radiator material preferences
I'm not sure if I want to drop the $ for a Mishimoto...What are your guys upgrades to your engine cooling system?
Plastic end tanks aren't an outlier, they're far and away the most common radiator you'll find on new cars for decades now.
No sense in paying a premium for something you're not going to notice an improvement in.
A radiator can’t work if it’s clogged with sediment or if another component is failing.
Discussion on heat transfer methods in space
Say I built a nuclear powered spaceship in my back garden, and could fly around Earth just fine.
All objects emit electromagnetic radiation, with the amount (and wavelength) depending on the temperature of the object.
Most of the heat produced by rockets is radiated from the nozzle of the rocket.
Temperature management is a crucial aspect of spacecraft design, both manned and robotic.

Discussion on suitable cases for thick radiators
I'm looking st my first build in a while, and managed to get an Alphacool kit that included a 280mm x 45mm thick radiator, which with 25mm fans makes a total thickness of 70mm.
The Fractal Meshify and Define series cases, Corsair 5000/7000D, Lian Li O11 flavor of your choice, and Phanteks Enthoo Pro 2/719 are all highly regarded cases that have the dimensions to fit thicc radiators and keep a premium cpu and gpu loop cool.
Champion! Thank you kindly, that gives me a lot to look into
Also helpful advice re the larger cases for the extra radiators that may be required

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison with other brands' pricing
Glad to hear a-premium is good, their turbos are ‘very affordable’.
High installation costs for air-to-water heat pump systems
This seems absurd to me.
Very hard to justify the cost premium over ductless mini splits.
Recommendation for checking alternative radiator suppliers
No. Go to radiatorbarn.com and price check there, I've always been happy with them, and they can do custom stuff as well.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Mixed opinions on brand quality and longevity
I know it’s not OEM but I’ve heard sum good things and seen good reviews.
A2W technology is considered cutting-edge and still maturing in the US
A2W is really bleeding edge in the US so you are going to pay a premium / take on a risk.
Concerns about handling hot radiators safely
Does he know what he’s doing? I’ve never pulled a cap off a hot radiator before but isn’t it dangerous?
That's not a good idea. An engine is meant to cool down slowly so parts don't warp or crack.
I cracked the head. That’s how I learned to replace the head on a car.
Before test.dricing the car examining the radiator cap for oil leakage into the coolant is good.
Mixed opinions on brand reliability and performance
I'll post an update after install and then after driving with it for a bit
Discussion on safety when handling radiator caps
Idiot Removing Radiator Cap When Engine is Still Hot
Well. If it wasn't for him being an idiot, I would've never seen what happens when you pull off the radiator cap too soon in that situation.
What I find most shocking is that the thing held the cooling system together to build up that much pressure.
my car is 47 years old and it has this feature.
Experiences with radiator pressure and overheating
It's like trying to open a shaked bottle of soda, you can even hear the pressure building up inside.
His car was probably overheating to due to all of that pressure.
That's most likely oil from a cracked engine or broken head gasket from the over heating.
You just have to do it slowly, and pause once the seal is broken to release the pressure before taking it off all the way.
Anecdotes about burns from radiator incidents
Some of the worst pain I ever felt.
Never do this people!
Sometimes dumbasses can learn.
General knowledge about radiator operation
I always thought there was an overflow hose near the cap that allows for outflow into a reservoir when the heated fluid expands.
On the good side, that radiator got all of it's rust flushed out... on the very bad side, all that rust means that the idiot is using tap water and not coolant
You see the rust in that fluid? What a mess. Dangerous as hell, steam burns are horrific.
Concerns about aftermarket radiator quality compared to OEM
No brand is mentioned on rockauto, and I worry that it may not be put together well enough.
If it fits and cools acceptably but is lower quality it's not going to last as long.
