Snoop's Take

The COSTWAY 35" Electric Griddle Teppanyaki Grill is designed for those who enjoy cooking large meals for family and friends. Featuring a generous cooking surface and powerful heating capabilities, it allows you to prepare a variety of dishes effortlessly. Consumers appreciate the spacious cooking area, with one user stating, "I bought an electric grill so I can finally grill!" The grill's effective heat retention and user-friendly temperature controls have also received praise, as many users reported achieving great cooking results with minimal hassle. However, some feedback has highlighted issues with poor heating performance and high power draw, leading to concerns about electrical compatibility. Overall, while the COSTWAY Electric Griddle has significant strengths in cooking capacity and ease of use, potential buyers should consider the reported electrical issues before making a purchase. It is recommended for those who prioritize cooking space and versatility, but with caution regarding the power requirements.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Generous cooking surface for large meals
look past that they're using a shopify website (imagine if Macys was on shopify? lol)
Letter of Demand following bad online review of restaurant Pekin Duck & Grill by The Qing
It might work! I got this same one a few months ago, and it fits perfectly over two of my electric stove coils.
Bought an electric grill so I can finally grill. First real meal prep since COVID.
Effective heat retention and rapid heating
Heated up almost instantly, had good heat retention even off the eye.
my food stays out of the grease. That's the side I use for things like bacon and burgers, now.
OH MY GOD, that is souch better than I thought it would be... Damn, I may need to buy one of these ASAP
extremely pleased with the results. That's my first brisket by the way, and normally the first brisket on a new smoker goes wrong somehow.
User-friendly temperature control
I cook with them and I am happy of the result. First time I get decent crepes!
I've cooked BBQ with family using our pits/recipes/techniques, I've worked in BBQ restaurants prepping and smoking, and I still maintain that I can get equivalent results with an electric smoker with far less hassle and more consistency.
Easy food removal and cleaning due to non-stick surface
It's a purchase you wouldn't regret.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Poor heating performance and recovery time
Anyone else use this shit? He couldn't get past blowing all the electrical breakers trying to plug it in.
I'd have very low expectations. slow, uneven heating. poor recovery time.
They draw a ton of power and will blow a lot of breakers if you don’t have an electrician install it.
My guess is that thing makes it max 6 months and I don’t think it’s going to spend those 6 doing a good job.
High power draw leading to electrical issues
1800 watts is the max for 15 amps. But some 1800watt items draw a bit more than that at startup and require a 20 amp breaker.
You're also only supposed to use 80% of the max for continuous load.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about cooking techniques for specific meats
Links to best way to cook A5 I was just gifted this and although I'm supremely confident with your standard ribeye and strip, I really need some guidance on this.
snip a small bit of the fat off the fat cap, throw the small bit of fat into a hot pan. Let it render until the bottom pan is covered.
I don’t salt it before cooking, won’t really penetrate the fat - apply a coarse salt right before serving.
Salting in advance isn't for penetrating the fat. It draws out and reabsorbs the steak juice through osmosis and diffusion, brining it in the process.
Advice on cooking techniques for hibachi chicken
I find sometimes the chicken is a bit dried out after cooking.
Use thigh, Chuck it in some leftover ogorki (cucumber, pickles whatever you call it) juice for 24 hrs first.

Discussion around electrical requirements and safety
The Equation is Power=Voltage*Current
Your standard North American wall voltage is usually between 115 and 120 depending on your supplier and total wire distance from the transformer.
Discussion around cooking techniques and experiences
I'm really thankful I read reviews. I appreciate your input.
Might work. I use mine over two burners on my gas range. It's great for breakfast, as long as you're only cooking a few strips of bacon, or have a good spy of paper towels to sop up the extra grease.
what electric grill did you buy?
I personally have a Masterbuilt, hard to find a copy of mine since it's been several years but this is a good looking model that should do the job well and not totally break the bank.
Discussion about cooking techniques and experiences
All of us need a magical chef like this on Teppanyaki Grill
I had to stare at this INTENSELY to see how he did it. Great job!
Very good distracting skills 👏
I had to play it back like 8 times to figure it out the first 7 I was still in shock
Curiosity about tastiest meals and cooking experiences
I’m curious to know about what your favorite meal is and if it is easy to make.
I went all out and made like a $150 gumbo a couple of years ago, it took too way too long, cost way too much, and was way too god damned delicious.
It might have been the fear that I was about to eat my last meal ever that made it so delicious.
Discussion about starting with small grills without breaking the bank
Looking forward to trying some prime rib, brisket, steaks, pulled pork, ribs and just about anything else.
The family wanted ribs but I was already smoking the brisket so this thing could be awesome in situations like this.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Humorous comparison to pets assisting with tasks
This is like when my dog tries to help me with gardening. It doesn't help, but the enthusiasm is there and I like it.
Whenever a cat gets in the way of a task, we all exclaim "she's helping!!"
Discussion about lack of reviews for Costway products
Doesn't seem to be much around for reviews or info.
