Snoop's Take

The SIMOE 36 Inch Electric Griddle Teppanyaki Grill is a versatile cooking appliance designed for both indoor and outdoor use. With its nonstick surface and adjustable temperature settings, it allows users to prepare a wide variety of dishes quickly and efficiently. Consumer feedback highlights the grill's ability to open up new cooking possibilities, with one user stating, "What I really like about the griddle is that it opened up a ton of other types of food I can cook outside." Many appreciate its quick cooking time and non-stick surface, making cleanup a breeze. However, some users have noted that it may not reach the high temperatures needed for perfectly searing steaks, with comments like, "Electric countertop grills don't get nearly hot enough." Overall, the SIMOE Electric Griddle is recommended for those looking for an efficient and versatile cooking solution, despite its limitations in achieving high sear temperatures.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Versatile cooking options
It’s a different kind of cooking. What I really like about the griddle is that it opened up a ton of other types of food I can cook outside, and it does it very quickly and efficiently.
I use my 36” year round outdoors in the open. Minimum 3 days per week. Every kind of dish from burgers/dogs, ribeye steaks, fried rice dishes, steak sandwiches, quesadillas, breaded chicken, wings, tacos, panini sandwiches salmon, shrimp, stir fry, grilled cheese sandwiches, eggs, omelettes, bacon, breakfast sandwiches, etc.
I'm hoping for somewhere that's good value and quite entertaining as I want to bring my young kids too.
Quick cooking time
The flavor and texture on a perfectly done smash burger is just next level, imo.
Easy to achieve a good cooking crust
I always get the best “crust” on the bottom from that initial press.
Versatile for different cooking styles
The Teppanyaki is better for stir-fry, fried rice, searing steaks, etc, while the grill burner will work more like a typical gas grill where the juices and fats drip down below and the iron griddle leaves grill marks on the meat, which is great for grilling sausages, veggies, and lean meats.
Quick heating and cooking
The grill burner can get really hot, BTUs haven’t been a problem with anything I’ve made for it.
Non-stick surface for easy cleaning
It really is non stick and it has the most amazing slick sheen on it now.

Doesn't reach high enough temperatures for searing steaks
Searing steak on a Teppanyaki Grill Anyone ever used a Teppanyaki Grill to sear steaks after sous vide?
Electric countertop grills don't get nearly hot enough, and you want super high heat delivered quickly, since your steaks are already perfectly cooked inside.
Like others have said, the teppanyaki electric grill probably won't get hot enough.

Game-changing cooking tips shared
really is a game changer getting that good crust I was looking for.
Interest in hibachi grilling techniques and flavors
Why does food from a hibachi grill taste so unique? Seriously, what's the secret?
He loved to say "more butter, more happy." Shit cracked me up, but dammit if he wasn't right.
Last time I went to a hibachi grill my wife and I were in awe at the huge chunk of butter added to the grill.
Interest in teppanyaki cooking and recipes
I'll probably look into some Japanese cuisine that is usually done on such a grill, like okonomiyaki and such.
I cook way too many cheese steaks and smashed burgers on it, along with dozens of other things lol.
Smashed burger are something I already love to do right now, particularly since it's hard to get a good medium burger in Germany.
Discussion on cooking techniques and experiences

Discussion on types of recipes suitable for teppanyaki grill
what is it best used for and what sort of recipes will work best for it?
certainly an onion volcano.

Secrets of hibachi fried rice preparation
How can I clone that fried rice they do in Japanese Hibachi restaurants? This seems to be the biggest secret in food.
Most of the secret is old rice (short grain rice - I strongly doubt his restaurant would have made jasmine rice specifically for fried rice), obscene amounts of butter, and soy sauce.
The tons of butter is definitely correct. A good friend of mine is a former Teppanyaki chef and the restaurant he worked for put two sticks of butter for around 10 cups of rice.
You need high-heat and heavy metal. You're not going to get great results in a skimpy skillet or paper thin wok set over a home range.

Concerns about cooking techniques
I've seen the videos on the Oklahoma onion burgers and they look amazing? (I LOVE onions.)
Comparison of cooking styles between burners
the Teppanyaki looks better for that just because it seems like a much smaller footprint.
I own Grill burner and absolutely love it, it's great for korean BBQ and I used it almost for each trip.
Interest in marinades and recipes for teppanyaki cooking
Most recipes I’m finding it just sesame oil and soy sauce in everything but curious if anyone has any marinades or recipes they’ve tried?
And for a simple homemade one I use for a marinade ..... 1/4 cup soy sauce, 3 tbsp brown sugar, 1 clove garlic minced, 1 tsp grated ginger, 1 tbsp water

Griddles are gaining popularity
While I like cooking on it, I don't love it yet.
Interest in local Teppanyaki restaurants
Anyone know of any good locally run Teppanyaki places in Plano/Frisco area for a reasonable price?
Why can’t I find a GOOD hibachi/teppanyaki (cook infront of you) place ? I recently moved here from Detroit where I felt like there was a hibachi/Teppanyaki place on every single street corner.
Tsukasa of Tokyo in Vernon Hills is very good.
Interest in teppanyaki dining experiences
Thinking of bringing my 4yo son to try teppanyaki for the first time.
if he ends up not liking teppanyaki, your loss less than 10 bucks
I miss hilltop teppanyaki
Heniu Teppanyaki @ Food Republic (313@Somerset)
Concerns about oil spatter management
while yes, it is a reasonably large cooking area... I would wonder about oil spatter around it.
Challenges in recreating teppanyaki flavors
Any attempts I've made at re-creating it, though, always seem to fall flat.
Most teppanyaki grills range in temperatures from 550-750 degrees, depending on use of gas or electric grills.
