I only had 2 bears coming to my bait both where anout the same size but one was chocolate and was nocturnal.
I think I had a 3 hour stalk in the spring which was pretty fun playing the wind as a big boar was following a sow in the rut.
I'm happy I got a rug definitely looks great in the bedroom got the skull in the living room.
I've gotten almost all of my bears by ground hunting with a bow, and usually I just lucked into it.

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about rotating dog toys and antlers to maintain interest
Question on the antlers becoming boring: would rotating between various antlers and horns throughout the week make them exciting again or once the dog had it one or twice, it's basically it?
You can rotate if you take one away while he’s still interested in it (instantly swap it out for a different one). I think once they’ve become bored of an item they might not find it interesting again later.
The overall lifespan of one antler really depends on the dog. I'm not gonna tell you it's not exciting, because ultimately you need to gauge your dogs reaction, but I will tell you they know when something's already been chewed.
Suggestions on mentally stimulating dog toys for bored dogs
nothing that's rewarding and super stimulating, as well as safe for dogs, usually doesn't last more than an hour
It takes a bit of work for my dog to get undone.
Only Kongs toy last for my rott.
Tips on enhancing dog toy engagement through preparation
My dog started to enjoy them much more even when not heated.
Strategies for using Kongs with dogs
My dog's favorite way of "eating" a Kong is to repeatedly pick it up, throw it to the floor and lick the drops of yogurt/peanut butter from the floor :/
My dog does this too, but I fill her Kongs with moistened kibble + canned food and then freeze solid.
I only seal the kong with peanut butter. So I fill the kong with whatever kibble, treats, fruits/veggies I'm using, and I put a smear of peanut butter over the big hole before freezing.

Discussion about training methods for hunting dogs
his recall is good, he’s got a natural way with birds, he’s smart as a whip and has an incredibly keen nose.
He also is able to track fairly naturally. He does these things already, when we walk in the bush.
Spending time together will be more value than any tip from reddit.
Does he point by scent or sight?
Discussion about dog training methods and challenges
Anyone use these for hunting?
I use steiners. 8x30’s. Bought them in 1988. Best binocs I’ve ever had.
Tips for training to be hunting dog? I would like her to find animal belonging such as hair ,poop, tracks, squirrels, pigs(manbearpig🤞).
I trained my Australian shepherd to track and retrieve. Retrieving was easy enough, I just played fetch with a dead squirrel and then before long after I shoot he would run and get the squirrel or rabbit for me.
Discussion about the care and treatment of hunting dogs
Maybe more of a beagle and a former medical lab dog?
Not all hunters take good care of their dogs
Inquiry about the scent of artificial antlers.
Are the artificial ones scented?
Discussion on the effectiveness of force-free training methods
Some problems I have found with the organized force-free resources are that they are quite limited in scope in regards to intermediate to advanced retrieving techniques, such as the case with Dogsnet and Jo Laurens’ book “Force-Free Gundog Training,” or they recommend purchasing additional resources for each individual skill.
99% of the time, I use a beep. I have trained my dog to look at me when I use the beep for a command.
If people are adverse to using an e-collar for ethical reasons or what have you, why are they taking part in an activity where we kill animals for sport?
Most FT stock are selected based on an ability to take a harsh correction and bounce back.
Recommendations for dog training and exercise to manage behavior
I recommend a crate and more training and exercise. That’s just too young for some dogs to be left alone.
Im blessed with a gentle scavenger mostly. But I also make sure to twist some areas and make the creases real tight, fold some corners so there's small pockets, and I use small kibble, or break apart treats into tiny pieces.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about changing dog traits
Are you able to replace a dogs skill if it’s unwanted? I have a hound with the pointer trait on it but I want to replace it with a retriever.
I tried to see the traits on maxed pointer retriever bit can't access the second job in any way.
I love my bloodhound but I would like to get another of the dog packs as I’ve been trying to hunt small game more.
Pointers always track animals. Bloodhounds always track blood. Retrievers always retrieve. That can't be changed.
Discussion about dog behavior and training challenges
Any other hunting dogs in here?
She’s hunting for pepperoni on the other side of the restaurant door.
Krikey, Dash is a full on beast. I feel like he’s judging me while also knowing if I say the correct command he would do what ever without hesitation.
Dash is good as long as he doesn't jump up on things he lets out a big Yelp when he jumps on his place he's 8 years old.

Hunting hounds are often pretty banged up (mine is missing part of his ear too, and had a broken tail which is still crooked).

Discussion about dog toy safety and supervision
Luckily he passed all of the string and it didn't get intwined inside of him, but I was worried nonetheless.
If I'm leaving the house for a while or i need them occupied I'll give them a kong filled with peanut butter and frozen green beans.
I can’t give my dog any plush toys because then he destroys the pillows but might just be my dumbass dog.
I'd rather not do that though, my pup has a thing for towels lol.
