It features extra wide slots, seven adjustable shade settings, and a removable crumb tray for easy cleaning, making it a practical addition to any kitchen. Consumer sentiment reveals a mix of satisfaction and concern regarding this toaster. Many users appreciate the wide slots, with one stating, "Makes the perfect toast," highlighting its ability to accommodate different bread types. Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Nostalgia around older GE toasters
Don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
Great nostalgia even better toaster.
Wow there is a blast from the past.
The toaster oven is superior to the toaster in every way.
Generational differences in toaster preferences
Right? My niece and nephew refused to use ours when they visited. Their parents said they only use a “real” toaster.
Mention of older GE toasters
Saw a g.e toaster from 1970 on here recently

Discussion on toaster longevity and value
So long as it doesn't break down within 2 years or is a pain to use, it works for me.
BIFL, <$25 on Amazon. Pick one.
Middle ground is where I found the most value in terms of products because even if it breaks you can replace it and it wont hit your wallet as much as an expensive item.

Discussion around warranty and brand reliability
Nothing fancy needed. I won't buy anything that doesn't have its warrenty honored over here.
Damned Austrailians
General chatter on toaster prices
They're like fifteen dollars.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Precautions for toaster safety
You don't really -need- to install a grounded cord. Just don't get in the habit of grabbing your kitchen sink and your toaster at the same time while the toaster is plugged in.
Discussion on safety of vintage toasters compared to modern models
Why is this vintage toaster unsafe? My dad, upon seeing the toaster, said it was very nice, but was unsafe to use because it was lacking some of the modern safety systems.
That toaster is fucking beautiful. Modern consumer electronics have to go through a lot of tests to be certified, like by UL Underwriters Laboratories.
My brand new toaster doesnt have 3 prongs. In fact, UL didnt require 3 prong outlets to be mandated until 1969, so most appliances would never have 3 prongs.
That metal case means it's class 2 (IIRC) so MUST have a valid earth connection. Easy test with a meter.
