We managed to get the old displays down, and put the new ones up. We were unable to remove the carpet from the old shelves, as it was glued down, and we didnt have any solvents to use.

That looks like a dyneema/spectra sling for climbing. Very strong material.
It's ridiculously strong.
Durable and abrasion-resistant material
Climber here. That sling is a composite construction of dyneema and nylon. It has some of the best properties of both including a very high static strength and decent abrasion resistance.
Versatile for various outdoor applications
That little sling is not meant to be loaded full time, but rather it's supposed to take occasional dynamic loads of up to 6000 pounds and static loads of around 200-300 pounds.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Value of modern climbing gear features
That's my favorite feature!
That’s a fact lol. I can’t climb slab without my granite crampons (thank you my love mr. Caldwell)
Discussion about climbing gear strength and ratings
the nylon ropes lose about 10% of strength after fully submerged into the water for longer periods of time.
Great videos if you use any of that kind of gear.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion about the perception of climbing gear value
The author wishes "someone would have stopped us from climbing on that poly rope." And didn't buy a proper rope because "[it] was way outside our budget." Then "bought a real climbing rope the following week." So it wasn't outside his budget after all.
Is this the kind of sensationalist journalism we can expect from ClimbingMag moving forward?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about product quality in climbing gear
These ropes are not rated by the UIAA and are not suitable for the type of climbing depicted in the description/images.
Let's talk about buying your first rope- a buying guide.
Concerns about non-name brand gear quality
Thoughts on Amazon Budget gear? Just curious to hear your thoughts on all of the not name brand gear available on amazon.
Don't do it.
It's a newer brand but they do pretty much everything and it's becoming really popular especially for bolting crags.
Climbing Technology itself may sound dodgey, but is definitely on the same level of reliability and quality as BD, Petzl, etc.
Interest in gear testing and failure analysis
It's really interesting to see how the gear fails and exactly how crazy strong it is.
