opinions on quivers I am a field archer and I currently use a Hip quiver but I am thinking of purchasing a cylindrical back quiver from my local archery shop however before my purchase I was hoping I could receive some comparisons between the two types and personal opinions of the types

Positive Feedback

Back quivers aren't for everyone, they can be awkward, you can't see what you're grabbing, they require a decent range of motion, you need to be mindful of what's above you, and it's harder to get it to sit right. For all of this, the arrows are kept far out of the way of ground level objects and they have a lot of storage capacity. The people I know who use a back quiver do it primarily for aesthetic reasons, but honestly, that's more than enough reason to use one if you want to.

“Back quivers aren't very functional. It's mostly movie propaganda that makes it look cool. An argument can be made that if you're doing a long journey, it's favorable so it doesn't fall out, but if that's a concern, then you sacrifice it's inconveniences for the security it provides. But since you probably won't be trekking cross country with a quiver, any other quiver will be better. Back quivers make it hard to get to the arrows. They move around so it's difficult to reach. You can't see them to grab, You make wide gestures to pull them out which will likely be noticed by game. It rattles and makes noise. It's just not very good. Hip quivers have easy access and is likely what you're looking to get as a newbie looking at target archery”➕
