Newb question: Meat! vs LEM grinders Hey all, I'm finally looking to start processing my own deer this year.
For what it's worth I've never even heard of Meat! but my LEM grinder is super high quality and I feel like it's worth every penny I paid for it.
I bought the LEM #8 and never had any regret. It’s built like a tank, works perfectly and is a pleasure to operate.
Efficient performance for heavy use
Only issue I have had is the throat size is kinda small so you end up cutting a lot of small pieces.

they make it hard to want to shop elsewhere.
I got the#12 meat! Grinder with 20% off... Paid like $360 for that thing.
Plus Meat has had things Out Of Stock way too long.

if I ever had to stop it with meat in it, I’d have to take it apart as it didn’t have the power to start up again.

I really don't think you need to spend top dollar on a grinder.

We use very hot water with high-end detergents and sanitizers. They are clean enough to eat off of when we're done.
There are also extremely stringent QA testing standards for meatpacking facilities in the US.
The chemicals they use for cleaning leave everything spotless. I work where they make ballpark hotdogs and I would eat anything we make.
Most likely this machine gets disassembled after every run, those needles have to be checked frequently to make sure that they are all accounted for and undamaged.

If you have a stand mixer i heard the grinder attachment for that is really good for home use.
I used the kitchen aid grinder, it's worthless.

Fat seems to get wrapped around that and it comes out gray.
Your meat you are grinding is acting as a lubricant so you get that darker tint.
That grey is from the fat acting as a lubricant.
I always throw away that bit when I clean it.

I honestly don't think it's worth buying an electric stuffer for small batches, they're expensive and unless you really can't handle turning a crank while holding the casing with your other hand, manual stuffers are fine.
