Snoop's Take

The Master Lock 90DSPT Gun Trigger Lock with Key is designed to provide secure storage for firearms by fitting various handguns, rifles, and shotguns. While it aims to meet safety requirements, consumer feedback reveals significant concerns about its effectiveness, with many users stating, "Locks may not effectively secure firearms." Feedback indicates that the lock's security features are lacking, with multiple users noting it is easy to pick and may not provide adequate protection. Comments such as, "It really seems like a product designed to technically meet a requirement," highlight skepticism regarding its reliability. Overall, the product's perceived low quality and high vulnerability to picking have led to doubts about its value in the market. Considering the overwhelming negative feedback regarding its security features and overall effectiveness, this product may not be recommended for those seeking a reliable firearm locking solution.

Trigger locks may not effectively secure firearms
My creek bed looks just like that. I'm in Michigan 007
Locks are easy to pick due to poor quality
They’re not very fun though.
Much easier than drilling the lock.
get a professional to open it since you would have no idea whats in it and u prob dont want to chance that
Low quality lock that is easy to pick
I wasn’t able to find any other videos or posts online about unlocking this particular model this way and am beginning to think I might have gotten a defective lock.
Locks are easy to pick
Probably only 1% of locks are actually worth anything and will slow them down to about a minute to pick them
What locks should I use on my gun case when traveling with a firearm? Should I use a tsa lock or just a regular master lock?
Use your own quality locks. You might get called back to open your luggage.
Once you get a feel for the feedback on the pins you’ll find that a lot of Master Locks at the white to yellow belt level can seemingly be opened by farting in their general direction.
Locks may not effectively secure firearms
DO NOT use TSA locks on a gun case. It is illegal.
I thought firearms were specifically *not* supposed to be secured with TSA locks?
Locks are not rekeyable
Keep in mind these locks go for about $10 new.
No federal law on locking up firearms
There’s a force against gun safety in this country and nothing will get better if you keep ignoring it
Product designed to meet minimal requirements
It really seems like a product designed to *technically* meet a requirement.
Lock is ineffective compared to alternatives
Sure...a wire / bolt cutter will make short use of it but you need another tool to open it.
Lock is overpriced
1.49 would be too much money for this "lock".
Locks can be easily picked
Most inexpensive key locks can be picked by a skilled locksmith.
Nothing is ever going to be 100% secure if given enough time.
If you’ve got a little kid in the house, this device would be way, *way* better than nothing.

Discussion on firearm safety and accessibility
Most firearm owners in the U.S. keep at least one firearm unlocked — with some viewing gun locks as an unnecessary obstacle to quick access in an emergency
I keep them all unlocked and accessible, like a spy, every drawer, under every table, on my ankle, up my asshole, under side of my dog, in a fake loaf of bread. Every where loaded
I don't really think you can make a case for a blanket assessment of whether it's acceptable to keep a firearm unlocked or not, given that each living situation is nuanced.
Is it really such a bother to take 5 seconds with a combination trigger lock? I keep a firearm at home and I would never leave it in my house unlocked (As a Canadian I’m required by law to but I would anyways).
Discussion on the necessity of trigger locks
I think half of people will throw them away, the other half will use them on most guns other than their EDC or home defense firearm.
