my hair is completely different. Of course, my bank balance doesn't like it.

Pleasant scent
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
Effective for taming frizz
Obsessed with this stuff.
In the summer it helps with the humidity and my hair is slightly less frizzy.
I've heard all of the GVP products are just as good as the originals.
Effective for dry curls with heat treatment
This stuff is one of my absolute favorite products. It works WONDERS on my dry curls.
CG friendly formulation
I knew it was CG friendly but wasn't sure if it would do what I wanted.

Conditioner can clog pores and cause body breakouts.
Struggles with fine hair and greasiness
And it's changed my life. My hair lasts 6-7 days before it feels and looks oily.
Perceived as inferior to premium brands
Dove bond strength apparently really is good at hair repair.
Can cause scalp irritation
I have problems with shedding, my hair is fine and thinning (I’m 54 and I’ve been in menopause for 8 years) and tends to knot easily.
Generic version caused undesirable color results
I still wouldn’t recommend the stuff, it has a really horrible gold tone despite being half 9V.
I was so pissed off you wouldn't believe.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on effective leave-in conditioners
I’ve noticed the conditioner that comes with box hair dyes always leaves my hair incredibly shiny, soft, and smooth.
Gives it that same slip, I looooove it.
Discussion on generic hair care products at Sally Beauty
Y’ALL. My hair is shinier, more moisturized, feels thicker, and is even getting its natural texture back.
link to the shampoo?
Yeah there’s a generic Paul Mitchell brand I love from there too.
it does great things for my hair.
Discussion on the nature of GVP products
it’s essentially brand name product that couldn’t be sold (due to approaching expiration date, bad batch and when I say bad I mean like one ingredient is barely off, etc) and so these brands will sell these batches off to Sally’s for rebottling.
Discussion on the effectiveness of heating and cooling in generic air conditioners
The price is fantastic, and they do both heat and cool at 12v.
I'm curious what real world performance looks like.
Recommendations for products suitable for specific hair types
It’s my holy grail product for my limp Nordic hair.
It isn't flat anymore! Well, most days.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on liquid vs cream conditioners
Also try a liquid conditioner! It’s life changing for fine haired girlies.
Liquid conditioner? I thought unless you're using a bar or something it's always liquid?
Liquid conditioner is water based with a water like consistency so to not weigh down fine hair.
Liquid conditioners are used in place of cream conditioners.
Discussion on using with heat for better results
What do you mean you use it with heat? How?

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Mention of effective sulfate shampoos
Elvive Dream Lengths has done absolute wonders for my hair and is so affordable.
Switched to sulphate shampoo and my hair looks ten times better and sheds WAY less.
That was the ONLY shampoo that actually worked for my hair.
Try Pur’ador - you’ll find it at TJ Maxx or Marshall’s and Amazon, they have an anti-thinning collection.
Mention of hair types and issues
These have been gamechangers for me since I'm a child of the 70s, and I remember when drugstore haircare was absolute garbage.
Hyaluron is just a hair care line, it's not chemo.
It may smell good, but there’s something in these products that even bother my partner who can use 12 in 1 products with no problem.
Thank you for the warning!💛
Long hair growth experiences with affordable products
my hair takes about three years to go from chin length to top of butt.
Discussion on hair care affordability and budget options
I have been buying higher-end hair products since I graduated from college about 10 years ago. However, I have kids now and will never be able to afford nice things again.
If you’re into thick and rich conditioners, the Cantu hydrating conditioner is the bomb.
They sometimes have nicer then drug store brands, like Joico, at a more reasonable price.
Discussion on premium vs generic hair products
I'm fed up with my hair being a frizzy mess no matter what I do or what I use.
people have it in their heads that expensive=better but thats necessarily the case.
There are lots of premium products that are bullshit.
Discussion on affordability of professional hair products
Are drug store shampoos/conditioners THAT bad? She didn’t even ask which product I was using.
If they are truly educated, geek out about the science of hair, & are a worthwhile human being, they should be able to help you navigate any price point you're at.
Debate on effectiveness of drug store vs professional products
There are great stand out products in both the drug store and professional world.
Hairstylist experiences with recommending products
I tell my clients I use cheaper alternatives in my every day life all the time.
That being said, they sure do make fantastic products.
Discussion on pricing and value of generic products
This generic tea tree oil shampoo has a truly generic story. No text content
I can't tell the difference from the $50 Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo I'm used to buying. This shit is so inexpensive and feels so good on my scalp.
Experiences with switching from high-end to drugstore products
The money I’ve spent on high end haircare is beyond & now I’m on the drugstore train!
I can't believe that for 35 years I bought entirely into the idea that everything from the drugstore would dry my hair, strip color, &/or leave a film on it.... until trying Hyaluron.
Inquiry about CG approved products
I'm going to Sally's Beauty Supply tomorrow (and my husband-to-be is coming with me, isn't he sweet!)
The GVP Conditioning Balm is a must have. Wonderful for deep conditioning- and it's CG approved!
I'm for sure getting the conditioning balm!
Advice on watching for sales at Sally's
I really liked it. Still, I'd recommend anyone looking for a good deep conditioner try this out.
Thanking friends for gifts and sharing experiences
Omg this was way too aesthetically pleasing to look at, 🥹😍
Discussion on affordability of salon vs drugstore products
It’s super snobby.
General discussion on hair washing techniques
As someone with thick curly hair, I use liberal amounts of conditioner everywhere and only shampoo once or twice a month.
What in your opinion is the right cut?
Blunt cuts make my hair seem thicker.
Experiences with fine hair and oily skin
It really helps to know what kinds of looks your hair can and can't do.
I can now go up to 4 days without washing my hair before it actually starts to look and feel disgusting.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on hair care brands and personal experiences
What is your favourite Shampoo/Conditioner? I’m just wondering what haircare brands people are using
I know you mentioned L'oreal, however their Elvive Hyaluron Shampoo & Conditioner are sorcery. I'd s

General chatter on effective hair products
I wish someone had told me before I wasted so much money on trying to make the products work for me.
don't do this.
Discussion on hair product effectiveness
holy shit, if I can save one person from this, I hope anybody considering toning their blonde with this steers clear and spreads the word.
I know you don’t like it, but this color looks so beautiful on you.
Just out of curiosity, when you processed it, did you happen to use any heat at all?
I use their 9v and 9p mixed and always get an icy, pearlescent blonde.
Discussion on drugstore vs salon brands effectiveness
the answer is usually Fructis or Tresemme or something like that.
turns out Herbal Essences was where it’s at for me.
the majority of the salon brands I found terrible and therefore definitely not worth the cost.
Concerns about reactions to hair products
that specific one smells like burning hair to me.
General commentary on the generic product experience
let me tell you this: its definitely soap.
I think their best product is the Generic® Excuse.
Discussion on the quality of generic vs name brand products

I leave out anything I consider fair game for them, such as toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, conditioner and fully expect for it to be used.
Toothpaste is a no for me.
Discussion on various guitar brands and their utility in production
Amps aren’t for brand clout. They do what I need in production settings.
