in my opinion best bang for buck is the acon air 16 with the 8inch springs and it can be upgraded to an Olympic mat from max air later on making it a very easy way to make large progression

Positive Feedback

Definitely make sure it has a net, its a god send for adventurous toddlers with no sense of danger.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Safety features are prioritized

Could someone point me in the right direction?
Anyone have any experience with outdoor trampolines who can shed some light? Should add we also have a very adventurous 15 month old so definitely at some point both kids will be bouncing on it at the same time.
no one's been hurt in it yet! For that reason, if go as big as your garden can fit it (you need room around it for safety.
Durable and long-lasting construction
I’d let my own kids go on a big yard trampoline but having one in the house to get their bouncies out is way more useful, and I don’t want them bashing their heads on my tile floor! They are great for sensory seekers.
I’ve had one for many years, with a variety of users on it, and it has held up phenomenally.
My brothers and I worked a rectangular trampoline hard for 15 years. You'll see a tear around the edges before it completely gives on you.
Better bounce and weight capacity
Choose a rectangular trampoline (like the Acon Air 16) for gymnastics progression, space efficiency, and safer trick practice with rules, or stick with a round one if preserving group games and gentler bouncing for younger kids is your priority.
Safety features are emphasized and important
I understand the risks and insurance implications from other parents and prior posts, so let's not go into that here as I know it's controversial.
There's nothing wrong with *minimizing* risk on a risky activity.
Higher weight capacity is beneficial
Besides the net, only difference is hers has a capacity of 600 (I believe) pounds and is 11x14 rectangle, ours is 250 pound limit, and 10 foot diameter (round).
Easy assembly process highlighted
We have had 2 trampolines and the inside one lasted far longer than the outside one.

Risk of injury for children
Definitely make sure it has a net, its a god send for adventurous toddlers with no sense of danger.
Get a new trampoline. Just Got my kids a new 14 foot round one for $200.
Trampolines increase liability and insurance costs
Our 4 year old is a high energy little boy who loves tumbling, jumping etc and we thought it would be a good outlet for him.
I personally will not get a large trampoline, ever. It increases your liability on your homeowners insurance, as well as the premium.
Trampolines considered unsafe for young children
Ours won't be using a trampoline for some years.
My mom was an ER nurse for a decade or so. She has sworn my whole life that she would never let us get a trampoline.
Many, many doctors and safety organizations recommend that kids should *never* use trampolines outside of accredited gymnastics programs.
Personal experiences with injuries related to trampolines
Someone had to get stitches because the dog scared her and she hit her head on a spring.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion of trampoline brands and quality comparisons.
Fun, exercise, and flips are the main reasons I want a trampoline, and while I'm not doing anything professionally I'm casually training in parkour recently.
There is much better out there, but not cheap.
I found this Octagon trampoline (which seems like an awesome middle ground between circle and rectangle) by "All American Trampolines".
if you’re In the us go for alleyoop hands down in all departments, if not go for Acon or skybound, feel free to ask questions I can answer probably any of them.
Preference for rectangular trampolines for gymnastics
The round format seems to work well for that.
If they want to gymnastics, go with the largest rectangular one you can fit in your yard.
Preference for larger trampolines for safety
Depending on the space you have in your garden, I'd probably say the 8ft.
Discussion on trampoline size and safety features
Circle area increases with dramatically with increasing radius: a 6ft trampoline has 28ft^2 jumpable area, whilst an 8ft trampoline has 50ft^2

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Preference for rectangular trampolines for tricks
I recommend a rectangle if you're planning on doing any tricks. Worth the cost premium.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Good trampolines are expensive
Good trampolines are expensive
Quality trampolines under $500 are hard to find
Under $500, especially considering recent inflation, is just not a quality tramp.
Caution about replacement parts fitting
A smaller bed stretches the springs more. This will give a harder ride, but a slightly better bounce.
The trampoline Matt itself is fine, that fit just right.
Get longer springs and a smaller mat. This will give you more bounce, but also a higher hazard of going into the springs.
Concerns about winter maintenance for trampolines
Would the snow and cold ruin them if left outside? For the love of pete don't tell me I have to disassemble it and reassemble it in the spring?!?
You're right it's a PITA.
Good for the trampoline? Probably not. Safe? probably not. Fun suiting up and jumping from the trampoline to a big pile of snow you just shoveled next to it? Absolutely! lol.
Over a couple winters it saves you the headache of a ripped surface or rusted out springs.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Higher-end trampolines are preferred by enthusiasts.
We have trouble suggesting trampolines under $1000 because people who are into it use higher end trampolines.
Concerns about the accuracy of weight limits on trampolines
Many of them have 1200 or 1500 lb weight limits but if you look at similar size trampolines from reputable companies they have weight limits that are much less.
Amazon is a great place to buy knockoffs and garbage.
No problem for a tramp rated at 1200 lbs.
Replacement parts like nets and pads often wear out
Mine was only $40 to replace, so it shouldn't be that expensive.
Trampoline stakes recommended for safety against wind
These have saved us during countless windstorms and prevent your glorified sail from breaking fences, windows, etc.
Discussion on trampoline performance and safety
Performance-wise, my experience with rectangles are better for the height capabilities but far less durable than the circle one my family had as the round one lasted 11 years and the rectangle lasted only 2.
