What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Affordable price point
you get what you pay for.
I’ve had ones where they rust or discolor/peel.
So would you recommend one to someone who is kind of on the fence about one?
Extra cooking surface area for multiple foods
Mostly would use for ground beef and chicken, sausage stuff, sandwiches, tortilla kebabs maybe potato recipes too also would be cool if it would work with dough recipes too sort of replace deep frying even tho the result would be different.
I like having the extra surface area when I make pancakes. Plus I'm on gas but I find electric just does better at pancakes for me.
Heats quickly and evenly
the spaces between the 'bars' don't contact the cooking surface well (if at all) so cooking takes longer than on a flat grill.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Perceived as a gimmick and takes up space
An electric grill is not something I would ever waste my money on.
Why not just get an electric griddle for a lot less?

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about grilling options for healthy eating
Grilled stuff in general feels like a healthier option I could explore maybe, but I'm not sure I'd be able to bring it to completion as I am far from a good cook.
How about something like a George Foreman Grill? It even comes with a recipe book.
The grill they are offering is pretty expensive but if they go this cheap maybe I'll just do that and keep the air fryer.
Discussion on alternatives to electric grills
Get a Ninja, ditch your oven and stovetop altogether.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
General discussion about Korean BBQ grilling
Both have great non-stick coatings that last a long time and feature oil drainage, making them ideal for portable gas grills.
Discussion about Korean BBQ grilling techniques
I just came back from a Korean BBQ all you can eat experience and the grills they used were more like this style, where there was a flame under this stainless steel 'grill'.
One of the big issues with Korean BBQ is the marinade. A lot of liquid comes out while cooking.
You do see KBBQs that use a more traditional style of grill as well, which is a grate over charcoal.
So could one simply pour out any liquid into a nearby receptacle in little bits as one 'grills'?

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion about cleaning challenges with combined grill and hot pot units.
Cleaning those are a nightmareand if you don't want to do the other, you mess it up and have to clean both
Discussion about care for grill pans
how you care for them is really important. don't put them in the dishwasher!
Challenges with grease tray cleaning
The grease tray for that was very difficult to wash and it ended up building up a lot of grease and rust.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about electric smokers as an alternative cooking method.
Those things are fucking awesome, and apartment friendly because they use an electric heating element to get the wood chips to smoke.
Does an electric smoker work just as well and taste as good?
the way you adjust the temperature is by adjusting the smoke output whereas an electric smoker rises to the proper temperature on its own and the smoke is consistent regardless.
Just want something that heats the water… not picky.
Discussion about electric grills lacking a drain function for fatty meats.
Also afaik there are no electric KBBQ grills that have a drain function which can be very useful if you are cooking super fatty meat.
General discussion about electric kettles
Best affordable electric kettles with temperature control? I’m looking for a kettle with temperature control that’s around $30 dollars or less.
If you can expand your budget to a little over $50, I found a decent Cosori brand electric kettle off Amazon that would probably fit your qualifications for temperature control.
Discussion on limitations of electric griddles' heating capabilities
Why do electric griddles always have non-stick cooking surfaces? Even Blackstone's electric model is non-stick.
My uneducated guess was always electric griddles don't reach the temps has models do?
If you’ve ever left cast iron on an electric hot plate, you know exactly how much heat electric elements can create.
The power units on the electric griddles are much smaller, and they can get quite hot.
