What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Effective for cardio and muscular endurance
My experience with the ropes is my arms feel more toned and it’s almost like the stair master but for your arms.
I've used them before at my gym to add some variety into my workout and I have to say, the rope will kick your ass, but it is a lot of fun.
Provides a visual representation of workout progress
The best part is the visual representation of your work.
Durable construction with double-layer protection
Going to start studying for my personal training cert next month and I've had the privilege to learn from two experienced exercise physiologists.
I love a 6mm pvc rope.
If they want you to choose a size, choose 8-ft. and tie knots in it if you feel like it’s too long.
Can someone recommend me one or a few options?
Convenient setup for quick training sessions
It gives great feedback, more than a typical 5 or 6mm PVC rope, spins well, and keeps a nice arc, but doesn't feel like a "weighted" rope.
Thanks for this.
Effective for improving strength with good form
Suck at battle ropes I really suck and feel weak when it comes to the battle ropes.
Battle ropes is one of those badass-looking exercise that is much harder than it looks.
Improves workout endurance over time
I don't feel like dying anymore!!! Thanks to all your suggestions hohoho
I used to hate them because they were really hard; now I think of them as challenging *because* they are really hard.
Helpful techniques for managing long sets
So that helped me on longer sets to break it up into smaller pieces.
Excellent for conditioning
Battle Ropes? My gym recently got battle ropes and I was wondering what they're useful for, and if they are useful, how I can incorporate them into my workout (WS4SB3)
Excellent for conditioning. Especially useful if your legs or lower back might not be 100% from squatting or deadlifting.
conditioning tool. I use them 2 times a week on my conditioning days, 40 seconds on 20 seconds off for 5 rounds.
I use them as conditioning and rehab for my shoulders. Front waves side waves and double fronts for as long as I can for as many rounds as I can handle. Nice alternative to accessory work if my shoulders are feeling shot

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Requires maximum intensity for effectiveness
I have now found the workout plan I'll be using for my late start on a New Year's resolution.
Always challenging and exhausting
there are certain sets that you just need to embrace the pain and roll forward with the attitude that *if it hurts it works*
I find them exhausting and frustrating. I usually try to go hard for 10 or 15 seconds, then take 5 (or so) seconds to rest and repeat.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Users struggle with handling battle ropes effectively.
How to improve on battle ropes? Hey everyone! I’ve been doing F45 for almost a year now and I’m loving it! But I find the battle ropes nearly impossible to handle!! I always give up after like 10 secs! Is there any tips on how to improve? TIA
stay in a low squatted position and then if you're slamming both ropes at once use your whole body to slam both ropes by raising your arms as you raise up from your squat and lowering them to slam both ropes into the ground as you're lowering back into the squat. If you're swinging each rope separately (making alternating waves) stay low and initiate the motion of the arm from your lat/scapula, so you're not just using only your arms to do the battle ropes. You can switch between the two types of rope slams to give a set of muscles a rest.
Move further back to reduce the slack.
I always powerd through and gassed myself by going too fast. When I slowed down and took my time, I was able to last the whole set. Probably not ideal, but it’s a way I can work on my endurance!
