Snoop's Take

The Rolipo Handheld Steamer for Clothes is a powerful 1200W garment steamer designed to quickly remove wrinkles from clothing, making it ideal for home, office, and travel use. With a large 360ml water tank and continuous steam feature, it allows for efficient and effective steaming without the hassle of bulky irons. Consumer feedback highlights the steamer's effectiveness, particularly for vertical steaming, with one user noting, "I usually steam clothing while it’s hanging vertically, then allow it to dry like that." Many users appreciate its lightweight and portable design, making it easy to transport, as one stated, "I took it when I went to Cambodia and have zero regrets." However, some concerns were raised about its limitations for larger steaming tasks and occasional steam output issues due to clogged tubing. Overall, the Rolipo Handheld Steamer is recommended for those seeking a convenient and efficient solution for wrinkle removal, especially for smaller items or quick touch-ups.

I usually steam clothing while it’s hanging vertically, then allow it to dry like that with gravity smoothing it out a bit.

The hand held steamers are such a pain if you’re doing more than a couple items.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Effective for vertical steaming
I usually steam clothing while it’s hanging vertically, then allow it to dry like that with gravity smoothing it out a bit.
I only hand steam! I found this works better for me than ironing.
Lightweight and portable design
I’m not keen to go with Phillips. These brands look a bit better than the Tefal or cheaper options.
I plan on saving space by stuffing my undies in the core part of it. I took it when I went to Cambodia and have zero regrets. It's light weight.
Quick and easy to use
As a normal person, I much prefer the handheld steamer because it’s quick and easy to put together, swipes swipe Bam Bam and you’re done and it uses regular water.
If you’re streaming more than a few things a week it’s absolutely worth it. I use to dread steaming clothes because it took forever and it felt like my arm was going to fall off plus it would get clogged constantly.
Improves steam output with vinegar cleaning
No steam coming out of garment steamer
I’d suggest only using distilled water in steamers and steam irons.
Effective for quick wrinkle removal
Using my clothing steamer on my hair works wonders, is it going to ruin my hair long term?
My hair likes travel steamer too! Just be careful, very careful.
It shouldn't be damaging if you are keeping a safe distance and also watching out not to burn your skin.

Not suitable for large steaming tasks
The hand held steamers are such a pain if you’re doing more than a couple items.
Clogged tubing affects steam output
Opened it up and the tubings are definitely clogged.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
General discussion about various brands of handheld steamers
It’s compact and does the job - school uniforms, tops, linen pants or dresses.
Haven’t tried anything else but it does a great job and only $50 on Amazon.
Discussion about the effectiveness of various steamers compared to irons
So, can anyone that has experience with steaming recommend a garment steamer (likely a specific model and not too costly) they have good experience with?
My two cents.
100% agree with this.
As someone who has done a lot of ironing now and for many years, this is the best advice.

Using steamers for various fabric types
I want to use it to “iron” my finished pattern but do I hold it directly up to the cloth?
Discussion about using compact travel steamers
Does anyone have one and love it? Ditched it after the first trip?
Discussion about using steamers for hair
I'd be afraid to try it. But, hey... if it works for you and it's not doing damage over time, go for it.
I haven’t noticed anything so far.

Discussion about handheld steamers for delicate fabrics
I don't quite have the nack of it for things like linen that are crease-central, but it's been a game changer for delicate silk garments.
Preference for standing steamers for larger tasks
I've switched to a standing steamer since a while, and I dont think I can ever go back to traditional ironing or steaming.
Discussion on the necessity of distilled water
It never occurred to me that I should be using distilled water! Lucky I haven't ruined any clothes so far...
Personal experiences with water usage in steamers
I'm lazy AF, so tap it is. So far so good 🤷‍♀️
Discussion on using distilled water for steamers
Thanks, will try that in the future.
Experience with different cleaning methods
Followed the steps from the YT link below. Managed to poke the hole that connects to the valve of the water reservoir.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about handheld hair steamers
Why aren't there more handheld hair steamers in the market? Curious about this...
Use a face steamer, they’re pretty inexpensive.
I have the same question. Everybody's talking about alternatives, but my thing is why aren't companies specifically making handheld hair steamers considering how much money pattern is making?
Just use a clothes steamer. They’re cheap and do the same thing
Concerns about using tap water leading to rust issues
the electronics have been eaten by rust and salt buildup
Tap water works fine in a steamer but distilled will be easier with the maintenance as less grainy bits will build up
Effectiveness of steamers for killing bugs
theh don't seem to move if poked. I used my kitchen thermometer to test the heat of my steamer and it seems to vary from 112 to 140 degrees.
I would imagine a clothes steamer would only be effective for a few millimeters... You should be able to kill anyone the surface, but if they're deep inside the box spring or bedframe, you wont kill em.
Yeah, I wouldn't expect my little hand held steamer to reach deep inside the box spring, just hoping I killed the ones I can see trapped on the surface.
Discussion about using tap water leading to scale build-up
You can attempt to remove as much scale as possible by adding vinegar to dissolve the scale (let sit for a few minutes) and try to rinse out as much as possible.
Concerns about motor performance and maintenance
Funny that you bring this up. I just got done working on 2 of mine.
