Snoop's Take

The RoneKit Induction Cooktop is a portable electric stove designed for efficient cooking in compact spaces such as apartments, RVs, and during camping trips. With 1800W of power and a range of features including 8 preset functions and a digital control panel, it offers a modern alternative to traditional gas cooking. Consumer sentiment around the RoneKit cooktop highlights its compact and portable design, with users praising its efficiency and performance. One user noted, "It served us well through an entire summer and Fall as the ONLY source of cooking," showcasing its practicality. However, some have expressed concerns about cookware compatibility, stating that "the converter disk simply didn't work well enough to transfer heat to the pan." Overall, the RoneKit Induction Cooktop is recommended for those seeking a reliable and efficient portable cooking solution, though potential buyers should ensure their cookware is compatible to maximize its performance.

Home gas range vs countertop induction wok burner I've seen a lot of comparisons of commercial level gas vs induction woks, and of course nothing will compare to a real restaurant wok burner but I'm curious if anyone has any experience with home countertop induction wok burners in comparison with a standard home gas range + flat bottomed wok.

Positive Feedback

It'll basically make your stove act like a regular electric stove - any pans that don't flat bottoms won't have great contact, it'll dump heat into the kitchen like regular electric, and the disk stays hot after you turn off power like a regular electric burner.

Compact and portable design

We need to replace our gas cooktop and are deciding between gas and induction. We want to buy a portable one and not too expensive($200ish) one to give it a try before going all in on induction cooktop.
I'm looking for a 2 "burner" induction stovetop, preferably a 240V one because of the higher cooking capacity, like this one: [Avantco ID18DB Drop-In / Countertop Double Induction Range / Cooker - 208-240V, 3100W (webstaurantstore.com)](https://www.webstaurantstore.com/avantco-d18db-drop-in-double-induction-range-cooker-208-240v-3100w/177ID18DB.html) or a 120V similar to this one: [https://www.amazon.com/True-Induction-Portable-Counter-Cooktop/dp/B019KZXVHE](https://www.amazon.com/True-Induction-Portable-Counter-Cooktop/dp/B019KZXVHE) Any experience with these stove tops or similar models? My concern is they have relatively low # of reviews.
It served us well through an entire summer and Fall as the ONLY source of cooking. I specifically looked for one with knobs on the front so as not to take away from the surface real estate.
Highly efficient power transfer
Your stove system in total will be worse than an electric coil stove which thoroughly defeats the benefits of induction systems.

Ineffectiveness of converter disks
It'll basically make your stove act like a regular electric stove - any pans that don't flat bottoms won't have great contact, it'll dump heat into the kitchen like regular electric, and the disk stays hot after you turn off power like a regular electric burner.
I found the converter disk simply didn't work well enough to transfer heat to the pan; instead, the induction unit overheated on its maiden voyage of boiling water for pasta (as in shut down, error message overheated -- I had to wait for it to cool to be able to reset the whole thing).
Limited cookware compatibility
Must good, solid pans have a metal disk in it anyway because that has benefits for all stoves.
My girlfriend was devastated by the news and instead of re-selling it she kept it "for one day".

Discussion about the best brands for induction burners
Interested in what this community thinks is the best brand when it comes to an induction burner?
I use a NuWave and have for years.
I have an Avantco that's pretty good.
If you are going to buy a new induction cooktop, may I suggest you to buy one powered by inverter (variable frequency control).
Discussion on different brands and features of induction cooktops
I'd go for the single burner for reasons given above

Discussion about using woks on induction cooktops
I understand that an outdoor burner is probably the best option, but is it a pointless task to maybe use a flat-bottomed wok on induction cooktop?
You can get a flat bottomed wok blazing hot on induction with no problem, but you aren’t going to get heat on the sides, which is a challenge.
I feel like people talking about electric resistance burners are not really answering the right question.

Lack of owner reviews for induction cooktops
I’ve actually noticed the most unevenness on my smallest pan (a 2 qt saucepan), because the base is so small that only a couple coils turn on.
Discussion about cleaning challenges with traditional ranges
I have to clean my range all the time. Spices, spills, overboils, etc.
But isn't it easier to clean a smooth counter than range with a million little crevices?
My next cooktop will be induction one with touch control.
Don't get me wrong - I don't want to go back to a standard electric range any time soon. But good lord, do I hate how much cleaning this thing requires.
Discussion about wattage of induction cooktops
It's all about the wattage. A 1800w one won't be great, but you can find ones that are 3500w for not much more.
Discussion on induction cooktop wattage limits
The countertop ones in US top out at 1,800W, which is less than you would get on a built-in connected to a heavier duty circuit.
Induction tops are *INSANELY* powerful. You’ll scorch a bunch of food at first and may even warp a pan or two.
