Snoop's Take

The Thrustmaster F1 Racing Wheel is a high-quality racing wheel compatible with various gaming platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Designed as a collector's item, it features a detachable Ferrari 150th Italia racing wheel replica, providing a robust and realistic racing experience. Consumer feedback highlights the Thrustmaster F1 Racing Wheel as a good entry-level option, with many users noting that "it's a fine entry level wheel." The force feedback has been praised for its superiority over Logitech wheels, and the overall build quality is noted as durable and reliable. However, some users have reported issues with the pedals and insufficient force feedback during drifting, indicating mixed sentiments regarding its performance in specific scenarios. Overall, the Thrustmaster F1 Racing Wheel is recommended for those entering the world of racing simulation, as it offers a solid balance of features, performance, and value for money in its category.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Good entry-level racing wheel
Some say it's not bad for the price while others say it's junk.
It's a fine entry level wheel.
And just for a little flair, here’s a scape of my most recent build 👍🏻
Better force feedback than Logitech wheels
For Racing this wheel is perfect, it only lacks speed when drifting as the wheel doesn't rotate as fast as the t300, but it definitely has way better force feedback than the Logitech ones
T300 offers superior features compared to Logitech
I'm interested in the T300RS GT and the G923, and everything I've seen says the G923 is better, but (from experience) I can't get over the Logitech shifter and would MUCH rather have the TH8A.
The T300 decimates the Logitech offering. You get so much more with the T300, belt drive, almost double the tq, swappable wheels, the TM ecosystem.
T300 wheelbase + any add on wheel rim by TM + T-LCM pedals is a great starter pack.
Whatever you've been seeing or reading, is absolute lies. Trueforce is a gimmick that only a few titles support, so far, and even then, does not beat out the old T300 and most certainly does not make the G923 "x10 better" than any of the older models.
Fixing connection issues through button adjustments
Can't find any info on this, would appreciate some advice. Thanks.
Suddenly it worked and the PC recognised it as "Thrustmaster T150 Racing Wheel"
Had the same problem, and switching to PS4 and back to PS3, then unplugging and replugging the USB fixed it. Thanks!
Durable and reliable over time
TH8A for 5+ years, working like a tank
No problems with my t300 after I think almost 4 years.
T500RS offers superior precision and stability
T500RS does not have this problem at all. I can let go of the wheel and it'll stay centered.
the force feedback is properly strong, i have a pretty solid desk and this thing makes the entire thing rattle up and down.
Decent adjustable brake pedal
The pedal set is decent imo adjustable spring for the brake pedal, but you may upgrade quickly just throwing that out there
Good upgrade potential within TM ecosystem
Go with a used Thrustmaster T300. Don’t waste money on a lower wheel in the TM ecosystem and definitely don’t go with the clunky, loud Logitech offerings.
Durable performance over time
I have no competing benchmarks but have zero issues with it after ~1700hrs
I have no competing benchmarks but have zero issues with it after ~1700hrs
Well built and durable
so well built and immediately hit a few laps on GT7 and was able to get better times on the time trails.
I love it myself.
Absolutely love mine.
Good feedback from small and light design
Even on my T818 i can feel a diference in the ffb.
Open Wheel is better for feel and comfort
Definitely the open wheel and remove the children’s stickers
Open wheel. Source- I have the Ferrari one
Better ecosystem with T300
Seriously just save up for T300 and skip Logitech, G29/92 are loud plastic toys with shitty ffb.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Insufficient force feedback for drifting
the FFB just isn't enough
the TMX has alot of internal resistance when turning the wheel quickly
Pedals are of low quality
It ok for short money, the pedals suck, if you can afford TLCM's get them too.
Feedback fade on T300RS is bothersome
What is the best OVERALL Thrustmaster wheel base? Share your thoughts with me please folks.
I wouldn’t upgrade to another TM wheelbase to be honest.
Cost not worth the performance jump to TS-PC Racer
which for the price, isn't worth it.
Problems with clamps and mounting
Otherwise the wheel has been running perfect, both on Xbox and PC.
Force feedback issues during races
Does your force feed back ever just suddenly stop working? Mine does it at least once a race and it’s really annoying.
Weird. I have the Thrustmaster T150 (basically the same wheel, but for playstation) and never experienced that issue.
Mine gets numb after like 20 laps. I figured out it was probably my wheel overheating or it was just that my tires were worn out.
Loud paddle shifters
same bro, i have the same trouble with the paddle shifters
Not worth the price compared to higher models
It’s not worth it, you’re better off saving a little more and getting a thrustmaster t598 bro.
Pedals are not world class
The pedals aren’t world class, but for the money I think it’s a good first setup to see how much more you like the wheel experience compared to controller.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Importance of a solid rig for better force feedback
Seriously concentrate on getting the solid rig now (presuming it’s a cost issue rather than a living with a rig issue) because by mounting your current wheel base to something rock solid you can actually turn the FFB down and have nore feedback compared with on a desk or whatever.
Discussion about the enjoyment of race starts
race starts are actually really fun once you got the hang of it

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Modding options discussed for improvement
I've heard of the metal bearing mod, would that fix this specific issue?
It made it a little smoother, however its only incrementally better.
Various adapters suggested for Logitech wheels on Xbox Series X
There is the "drivehub" that should work, or a Gimx adapter works as well.
Collective Minds DriveHub
a little late like but did u end up getting a converter?
Discussion about DIY modifications and upgrades
This whole thing cost less than 100€ (tools not included) and runs with SIMHUB (beautiful peace of software).
Respect 🫡
My rig is just the wheel clamped to a table, and csl elite lc pedals raised on a box for a more comfortable seating position lol
Mega job man! Are you uploading a tutorial somewhere? I'm planning to do a tutorial for a button box
Discussion about using gloves to prevent marks
Yes I'm using gloves for now.
Use of gloves to prevent residue from the Open Wheel
I own a set of go-karting gloves to combat that issue

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Price perception varies among users
More affordable? honestly 400 bucks in a wheel seems like a lot to me.
Considerations for upgrading to other brands like Moza or Fanatec
After that it’s more worth to invest or upgrade in brands such as Moza and Fantec
Budget considerations for upgrading wheels
Depends on your budget.
Discussion about adapter compatibility for Thrustmaster wheels
I was wondering if there's any chance I can make it work on Series X with a converter/adapter without having to buy the G920/923 version.
G29 should be supported according to their product page.
Discussion about entry-level racing wheels
I'm enjoying this enough that I'm considering a racing wheel.
If you can find a cheap one, it's a good buy.
I'd hate for $50 to be the difference between turning you off sim racing entirely and igniting a lifelong passion.
If you have to have force feedback the T150 is $200 new.
Debate on the value of the T500RS compared to G27
Is the thrustmaster worth double the price? Will they both work on the PS4 as well?
Its the real deal, dont know how I coped without it all these years. I dont know abour the thrustmaster, from what I hear the shifter is better, but for twice the price the g27 ticks all the right boxes.
Ugh, the predicament of getting a wheel... Been pondering this question since GT6 came out. I curren
Discussion on PS3 wheels compatibility with PS4
I do believe all ps3 periphials will work with ps4
Comparison to other racing wheels like G29 and T300
Worth what price? It's a good starter wheel, though the T300 is better.
Discussion about the value of the Ferrari wheel versus the Open Wheel
The Ferrari wheel looks like it's made of higher quality material, but the TM open wheel looks more comfortable to hold.
the feel is sooo much better than either of these.
Can you adjust break bias on the fly with the Open Wheel?
Discussion on budget-friendly starter wheels
Outdated tech but ok for a start and very cost-effective.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Preference for Logitech G923 over Thrustmaster
Best Wheel for Xbox and Racing Games ? I want to buy a Wheel for F1 and Forza, what can you Prefer ?
Logitech G923, best option imo if it's your first wheel. I have the G29, which is the same wheel but for PS, and it's really good
>p
Depends on ur budget, best bang 4 ur buck is the G923, good Force Feedback, great material quality, but it can be a bit notchy when rotating the wheel because it uses a gear motor and it’s a bit loud in some instances, so if noise would be an issue maybe take a look at Thrustmaster T248.
