Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about the dpad's functionality.
How's the dpad? Looking for one where you can't press diagonals easily/accidentally when pressing one direction
it gonna be a perfect controller if 8bitdo will add ability to map back buttons to keyboard keys on PC
My current favorite by far. Has the features I want and nothing else for a super cheap price. I use this over my FlyDigi Apex 4 and Vader 4. I prefer the extra bumper buttons. I love the new switches for the bumpers, extra bumpers, and dpad. The membrane face buttons feel super snappy and easy to press with no wobble or give to them. The 1000Hz is a nice bonus.
No true deadzone setting? I want zero dead zones built in
General discussion on the pros and cons of various controllers
PS5 controller is the hands down best controller out there.
I now use 8bitdo which is less expensive and has a 1 year warranty.
I truly enjoy my discontinued steam controller for everything except fighting games aaaaand shadow of the tomb raider.

Shit, I'm here before the review and w2c. It looks legit, love this colorway.

User is exploring various controllers for gaming.
From the responsiveness of the thumbsticks to the tactile feel of the triggers, I can't say enough good things about it.
Finally Enough Bits *Transparency note: This controller was purchased with donations from my Ko-fi.
Very good Review JohnnyPunch, iam at the time to get a new controller and it’s between this one and
Especially games that immerse/please graphically and is fairly well optimised.
Discussion about buying fake vs real controllers
Assuming you don't put it through any sort of hell, it will last you at least ten times longer than a knock-off.
Even though they appeared to be made by Sony, they were in fact knock-offs and basically unuseable.
It's like $10 (CAD) or something and if you bring it to them within a year and say "thumbstick drift" you get a new one.
Gamestop will pay you for your busted controllers. I don't remember how much, but anything is better than just throwing it out.
User consensus is Xbox controller is best for PC due to native support
What controller should i buy to play exclusively on PC? Title says it all.
Xbox controllers have better support than PS controllers.
Debate on the necessity of a wireless USB adapter
The wireless usb adapter is a must-have if you want to use audio via the controller headphone jack.
I paid $5 for mine (from a sale on bapcsales) like 5 years ago and it does the job perfectly.
Users seeking guidance on controller setup
So to reiterate, you have to load into RetroArch, switch the PS4 controller to Xbox 360 mode (green light), load the PS1 title in RetroArch, hit the PS button, go to Options -> scroll down to Pad Type 1 -> change it to "dualshock". The PS1 game will recognize the game as using a dualshock controller and you're set.
Set your 8Bitdo to 360 mode (Select+Up) and Retroarch should do most of the work for you.
I'm hanging on your question because I also want to know; I want to play ape escape there; but I haven't been able to properly configure the control
i switched to a retroboot only setup, and retroarch has not needed any controller mapping at all, using several different controllers.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about issues with Bluetooth connectivity on Windows
Only use an Xbox controller with Bluetooth on Windows if you think having your controller randomly losing connection mid-game a few times an hour is fun.
Firmware update fixed the Xbox Series controller connection issues for me.
It's just so variable with Windows.
I've used bluetooth on my Xbox controller for years and never have it drop connection.
Preference for wired connections over wireless for reliability
no need to fiddle with bluetooth or wireless adapters.
because it's rechargeable and can connect over BT.
