What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
All stainless steel construction enhances safety and durability.
Most of the ones recommended have aluminum shafts or plastic parts that are in contact with food.
Powerful motor blends foods quickly
a) the blade guard didn't fit in a wide-mouth Ball jar and b) last week it completely fell apart on me after only three years.
Much better than my old cheap one.
All-Clad products are dependable and durable.
These damn All Clad tanks.
All-Clad stainless steel offers excellent cooking performance.
Few things sear better or cleaner.
An all clad stainless pan is a must have in a kitchen.
Dishwasher safe construction
Lol I wash alllll my stainless steel All Clads in the dishwasher.
Honestly nothing should happen. The stainless is dishwasher safe.
All-Clad products hold up well over time.
Wtf. I can’t think of another pan that holds up as well as all-clad.
Bar Keeper's Friend effectively restores the appearance of stainless steel.
About an hour of scrubbing with Bar Keeper’s Friend and they look pretty great, looking forward to many years with these pans!
BKF is so good on stainless!
Detachable shaft for easy cleaning
2-Minute Mayo: Beaker for All-Clad Immersion Blender
What did work (and worked perfectly) was a standard aluminum 1/2 quart measuring cup you find at restaurant supply stores.
Versatile container options enhance usability
That looks like a perfect container. The All‑Clad is annoyingly wide I find.
I used a [wide-mouth 16 oz canning jar](http://www.acehardware.com/product/?productId=4418857). It worked perfectly.

Where it needs some work!

Can scratch the bottom of pots
Immersion blender scratching sauce pan I recently got the All Clad immersion blender as a gift and after the first use I noticed some small scratching on my 4qt D3 saucepan.
Hand blenders are not suitable for ice crushing.
A hand blender that handles ice cubes, I want a frozen daiquiri
Hand blenders do not work with ice at all. That’s just not what they’re designed for.
Potential for sharp edges after dishwasher use
The cookware became dangerous to use and I had to warn visiting family to protect themselves from getting cut.
you run the risk of corroding the aluminium layer(s), creating sharp jagged edges that can cut you.
Concern about gear durability
I'm pretty sure it's a combination of a crappy clutch and the plastic gears that ends stripping them when the blender gets bound up on something.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Variability in features and attachments among different brands.
I'd recommend the Breville Control Grip. Very powerful with lots of speed options.
I really like it. I've had mine for a few years, so they might have a newer version now, but I think KitchenAid makes good stuff.
Interest in stainless steel and glass blenders
Can anyone recommend a stainless steel or glass blender that's all steel or glass inside, with no plastic that will touch the food?
This is the way. My 20 year old oster beehive stainless/glass doesn’t blend nearly as well as the 13 year old vitamix with stainless container.
My mom just doesn’t use the lid and holds a small ceramic plate or something over the top when blending.
I'm all about avoiding plastic when you can, but that's the suggestion he's been given as to how to do it and then flipping out what the lid will still be plastic even though food will barely be in contact with it.
Discussion about achieving better blending consistency
You can puree a large amount in a short time and the consistency is very good.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about manual alternatives to immersion blenders
Jesus, Donna! What ever happened to a manual whisk and some good old fashioned elbow grease? 😡
Interest in cooking techniques with stainless steel cookware.
Can you give a brief description of how you cooked them? I’ve heard conflicting info on how to cook best with stainless steal
Discussion about suitable containers for immersion blending
All Clad Immersion Blender Cup in video? What cup does Kenji use in his mayo video?
+1 would like to know. The head on that all clad immersion blender is massive.
I like these tall graduated beakers. Strong, glass and they look cool ;-)
Do you have the same blender? My cuisinart has a significantly smaller head I think, so I'd need a d

General conversation about blending preferences
It goes on sale every now and then on Amazon. I've seen it as low as $139
We upgraded to the stainless container when it came out. I like it but it’s smaller than the regular one which is a bummer.
Discussion about other brands and models of immersion blenders
The commercial models seem to have 200–300 watts only vs 600 Watts for others, but I'm guessing they put out more RPMS or torque somehow?
Cry once and buy the Robot Coupe.
It’s like a vita-mix and a giraffe had a baby
Questions about the differences between commercial and consumer lines.
Do you know if there are separate commercial and consumer lines or are they all the same?
General conversation about cleaning methods for stainless steel cookware
Hypothetically, what’s the worst that will happen if I wash my All-Clad in the dishwasher? And if I do, what detergent should I use?
All clad all stainless is supposed to be dishwasher safe. Google it and that comes up. If you look at all cookware, it now says use sponge and soap, says dishwasher may make cookware look used.
Discussion about various brands of immersion blenders
Should I go high hand and buy the all clad blender or going for the other 2?
I love the Krups 3-Mix handheld mixer. The higher end model comes with an immersion attachment that works well.
Discussion about sourcing and manufacturing locations for All-Clad products.
All-Clad always pops up; however, when I read the details of a selected item, it is made in China.
Seconding Liberty, I love our set and may get another set.
All Clad is really open on their product pages about where each thing is made.
Have you tried contacting them? I have a strong suspicion that it will be largely product line dependent with pans more made in the use than utensils.
Comparison of immersion blenders
Anyone who owns one care to share their experiences and help me decide between the two?
Honestly couldn't tell them apart based on performance.
It's the smallest commercial immersion blender in the world, which is incredibly powerful and comes with 4 blades.
Does it yield a fine purée? Can its attachments fit in small bowls and containers?

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about longevity of non-All-Clad immersion blenders
Good Immersion blenders? I hate cleaning regular blenders and thought this might be a nice alternative for making sauces/soups.
We have a Cuisinart we got for our wedding 11 years ago and I swear it still looks brand new.
We have a Cuisinart from about 15 years ago and same. We blend tomato sauce and it cleans right up.
Totally agree. We've had ours for about 3 and was the best $15 kitchen appliance I've ever bought.
Discussion about the limitations of cheaper immersion blenders.
Don't skimp on quality with these appliances.
General discussion about immersion blenders and their utility
No bamix because no warranty in my country
It impressed me by being proficient at chopping veggies, making drinks, ice creams or simply pureeing.
Robot Coupe makes some low-wattage immersion blenders that are supposed to be quite good.
Discussion about plastic in kitchen appliances
Waring laboratory blenders are definitely BIFL but they have a seal under the blade assembly that is natural rubber and needs replacement every few years or so
Well I didn't think I would need something like this. But now I really want this. Why...
A bigger concern for me than the lid is that the tamper is plastic, which does come in contact with the food as you push it down. I make nut butters which get quite hot, and I use the plastic tamper (with the stainless steel container), but think about looking for a replacement regularly.
We get organic A2 milk in glass and we make our own yogurt. And all of our drink ware is glass or steel.
Discussion about the limitations of hand blenders for frozen drinks.
Forget a hand blender your need a Vitamix blender.
I use a cuisinart stick blender for frozen margaritas. Works great.
You can mix everything but ice in/with a blender, put ice in a cloth and beat it with a bat and then mix it all together and that’s it, blend it all together again if needed
Use water instead of ice, blend everything together and put it into a plastic container with a lid and freeze.
Discussion on the difficulty of removing rubber coating residue
Feels like sticker residue all over this hand blender. Can it be removed?
It's a rubberised coating some manufacturers put on. It can be removed with rubbing alcohol.
I'm going to add you may want to wear gloves so your hands don't dehydrate from the alcohol
This was never a problem for me till I hit 50. Now I LOOK at household cleaners and my skin dries up.
Concerns about the toxicity of rubber coatings used in kitchen tools
I'll ask: do we have any idea if this coating is toxic or made from PFAS/PFOS?
I wouldn't eat it, and I'd wash your hands after cleaning, but it's meant to be used around food, so regular exposure is non hazardous.
Concerns about battery-powered immersion blenders
The battery powered immersion blenders die quickly, about two months after the warranty runs out
