Why don't a lot of people wear them. I notice most skateboarders don't wear protective gear.

Positive Feedback

Personally I can’t be pressured into that mindset, I am too old and too over scars and bruises lol.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Protective gear can prevent serious injuries
Why don't a lot of people wear them. I notice most skateboarders don't wear protective gear.
Wear the pads man. No fun to sit at home with a broken elbow or some sort of traumatic brain injury.
Wear your protective gear; it's not a fashion show.
Your comment was worded oddly, and all I was saying is that relying on other people to save you isn'
Wearing pads can extend your skating life
Skate culture has made it uncool to pad up for forever, but I feel like dudes like Andy Anderson are bucking the trend.
>Thank you!!!!
Comfort and safety can increase confidence while skating
Lots of pros have been skating since they were kids, so they know how to take crazy falls and only get mildly injured.
Just wanted to let you know that you specifically posting this has made this issue go away for me.
Most tricep exercises destroy my elbows, what can I do? I've had elbow tendonitis since January last year (my dumbass moved too quickly with weighted pushups) and it's gone from bad to good to bad to good.
Warm up your elbows thoroughly with high rep low weight work before your primary triceps exercises and consider getting elbow sleeves.
Wearing sleeves helps maintain warmth and comfort
I wear mine training sometimes to keep my elbows warm for stuff like one arm pullups.
Buy one. They are cheap. If it makes you feel better or more confident then keep wearing it.
My elbow injury likewise doesn't have any corresponding noticeable swelling. Nevertheless, I feel like the sleeve helps.
I thought maybe through that support it'll help the elbow heal by getting... stressed less while still training? or smth like that?
Compression sleeves help alleviate pain and discomfort
Yes it did!! It was my first time I didn’t know what it was I was scared!
Adjustable buckle makes it easy to use
I’d recommend lowering the weight and focusing on the stretch/pump. I used to always deal with some kind of elbow tendinitis that drastically improved once i dropped the weight, increased reps to 10-20, and chose exercises that gave the largest stretch (incline curls, skullcrushers going behind the head, etc)
Durable outer shell provides good protection
Resistance bands are a good alternative I use.
Perhaps it would be more objective to use a 50N tensiometer for each desk test.
Soft lining reduces vibration and absorbs sweat
Why don't I see test videos of people saying it doesn't wobble?
Protection gear is essential for safety
I’ve always been the …skater kid no pads or helmets unless vert.
It’s not a question if you crash, it’s a question WHEN you crash
Add elbow pads for dicey dicey tech trails up from my local trails.
Knees pads are a must. In fact, I don’t recall ever riding without them.
Knee pads are a must for comfort while riding
Always knee, lid and gloves.
Knee pads are essential for comfort while riding
One of my knees took a hard crash - weeks later it still hurts! It’s a “bone bruise” apparently and they suck (lol).
Compression sleeves help with inflammation and pain relief
Elbow sleeves won't do much for you in the case of golfers elbow I found because it's not a lack of strength rather flexibility.
Wearing sleeves increases confidence while training
Going through it right now! I get my sleeves today! Hopefully that helps!!
Voltaren gel may provide some relief for tennis elbow
Last hope is this gel or maybe cbd balm?
it might have helped but not as much as ibuprofen for me.
Bicep and forearm exercises can help alleviate elbow pain
I tend to focus on preacher curls with emphasis on “pulling” with my pinky in the curl bar.
Physical therapy is effective for treating tennis elbow
Physical therapy is the only thing that worked for me.
Compression sleeves help alleviate pain
The compression sleeves and gadgets deload the tendon and help alleviate pain but won’t fix the underlying problem, which is a repetitive strain issue caused by poor conditioning.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Social stigma against wearing protective gear
Personally I can’t be pressured into that mindset, I am too old and too over scars and bruises lol.
It's socially discouraged.
I just end up stealing them from the shop though cause I really want to skateboard but I also don’t want to kill myself.
This does nothing lol.
Cost of gear can be prohibitive for some skaters
A lot of us just learned without them and stick with it, nothing wrong with using pads or a helmet though.
Once I started actually using the full ROM and getting a deep stretch my weight fell by 60% or more. Never dealt with elbow pain again.
Cost of protective gear can be prohibitive
I always wore a helmet if I did anything other then flat ground.
Pain persists despite extended rest from lifting
even with 2 weeks of not lifting the pain still exists so looking for some sort of topical or medicine that can help recover outside of surgery

Discussion about aging and training
Why people does this? They come all the way from Thailand, to teach at seminar in US and people throw no pad spinning elbows. To prove something? It’s so stupid.
This is off topic, but what's crazy is that I was a teenager when I first met Saenchai and now I'm an old ass man, while my man looks the same age still whooping people's asses.
I mean I'm not that old yet, but I definitely noticed the same. The man doesn't seem to age haha.
That’s why he’s the Yoda of Muay Thai.
Commentary on seminar behaviors
Not suprised if they won’t go to US anytime soon.
It sucks sometimes. You just want to go teach, spar a little, but sometimes you out there fighting like it’s a tournament

Discussion on managing tennis elbow through training and equipment adjustments
I have some persistent, reoccurring tennis elbow, and I’d love some help in managing this discomfort so I can stay on the court.
The coach that I take private lessons from has told me that tennis elbow is caused by bad form.
I think at the beginner level it does come from poor form.
Professional players get injuries as well.

it's a relief to be able to explain this one!
I already feel like it helped! I did them with my right hand/arm (which is the worst of the two arms) and it feels better than the left one now!
