Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Users suggest investing in heavier duty pads for advanced skating
If you're just rec skating Triple 8s are perfectly fine! Mine have held up well.
Users express preference for hard shell pads for better protection
Like if you're planning on them hitting the ground a lot, go with a plastic shell.
if you’re really trying to send it, get something with a hard shell that will slide on pavement.
Discussion on the need for hard pads on the street
Just bear in mind on the street if it doesn't slide you're taking the full impact.
once your on the street you need hard pads so you can slide.
Introduction of slim pads with hard plastic for protection
I recently came across these slim pads that look like they have hard plastic pads.
Users express preference for heavier duty pads
I just received them in the mail and they feel pretty comfy, especially the knee pads when I practice falling!
Discussion on various brands of pads
If you think there is ANY CHANCE you might want to go to skate parks, get the 187 Killer pads.
I wouldn't bring them to the skate park though.
187 is a bit of a dodgy knee pad brand.
Mention of other brands and types of pads
they are so fucking bulky but definitely better if crashing on tarmac.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion about The People's Elbow as a wrestling move
the People's Elbow was the hokiest finisher ever.
It sounds so silly now, but it was a move I believed in when the Rock was magic in the ring.
The best thing about The People's Elbow imo is that it inspired this move.
the peoples elbow was conceived as a joke to try and make Undertaker break character.

Users compare with other types of pads
Pads like this seem made for avoiding minor scrapes, or preventing those sharp stings when you hit your funnybone.
Users recommend alternative knee pads for better protection
I´m looking for a Knee Pad that provides great protection and mobility, of course.
187 Pro is the gold standard afaik.
Excellent impact absorption and terrific overall protection.
S-One gen 3 pro knee pads are expensive but work great.
Users share experiences with other knee pad brands
The 187’s are on a whole other level.
I love my Pro-Tec pads and they’ve saved my old bones more than once!
On the whole, the Triple Eight Saver Series pad set is a good budget buy.
I guess it's justified.
Comparison of Triple 8 pads with Scabs and other brands
I absolutely love the Smith scabs! They're very protective for their padding size.
The Triple 8 Saver sets will protect you from scrapes and minor falls but not much else.
Discussion on finding the right size
This actually helps a lot, I've been struggling to find the right size and the sleeve pads are just way too tight.

Discussion on investing in heavier duty pads for advanced skating
If buying better quality is within the budget always better to do it when it comes to protective gear.
Discussion on separate sizing for knee pads and other gear
I don't recommend the kit because I run a small/medium in wrist and elbows but need large knee pads.
Discussion on sizing issues with knee pads
I think you have to order them bigger than what the size charts say, but if you do please check multiple reviews on that topic.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion on the effectiveness of non-hardshell pads
Super thin so you can wear them under clothes.
they are fantastic
do they really provide adequate protection for basic skating?
they protect against scrapes and relatively minor bruises.
Confusion over the Eight Ball by Triple 8 branding
If they're legit, that'd be super sweet, haha.
They work great for me and would recommend them as a starter set of protection if they fit you!
Users note differences in protection levels
your knees will love you forever.
