Handheld steamer is quick and easy to use
As a normal person, I much prefer the handheld steamer because it’s quick and easy to put together, swipes swipe Bam Bam and you’re done and it uses regular water.
Conair steamer is effective for residential use
For residential, I’ve had good luck with Conair.
Conair steamer. I swear by an iron, but that thing changed my life in college.
Dual voltage clothes steamer that works Hello. I’ll be traveling from the US to Europe for a wedding and will be packing several dresses that will need steamed.
Found mine on amazon, it's called Conair Power Steam Dual Voltage.
Steamer improves with maintenance
No steam coming out of garment steamer
I’d suggest only using distilled water in steamers and steam irons.
Handheld steamer is lightweight and convenient for travel
Does anyone travel with a garment steamer? I prefer wearing natural fibers and love linen in the summer but it gets so wrinkly, especially after sink washing.
I am new to one bagging but yes I do have one and plan on bringing it for the same reasons you listed.
Steamer is useful for those bad at ironing
Speaking as someone who is bad at ironing, I’ve found my steamer useful.
Compact and handy, especially for travel
Mine is a travel-sized one I think so it’s pretty compact and handy to have around.
Was gonna say this. Get a travel sized one! I did and it was super handy on a business trip.
Steamer is quicker than ironing
It was such an infuriating experience, I returned the steamer and went back to paying $250+ a month to have them professionally pressed.
Wayyy better than ironing. Five minutes vs thirty to forty minute. Woof. I hate ironing.

It's much faster and less finicky than ironing, especially for linen, even though I don't have a fancy set up for it.

Plus you can use it for other things (mirrors and glass surfaces) to get rid of grease marks.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.

Handheld steamers can be a pain for multiple items
The hand held steamers are such a pain if you’re doing more than a couple items.
Can be exhausting to use for extended steaming
It’s one of the best things I’ve ever bought for my business and it’s a tax write off.
Steamer can become clogged
Opened it up and the tubings are definitely clogged.
Steamer cannot fix deep wrinkles as well as an iron
the steamer just couldn’t fix them.
Steamer results are not as crisp as ironing
Steaming won't give you results as sharp as ironing.
if you're comfortable with removing the majority of wrinkles and giving your dress shirts and pants a cleaner silhouette, but not a perfectly crisp appearance then steaming is great.
I've just given in to having my shirts laundered and pressed and leaving my standard dry cleaning fare to the professionals.
Struggles with deep creases and linen
They don’t work on linen or any deep crease because they are hot enough.
Steamer can be tiring to use for long periods
Can I ask how you hold the garment you're steaming? I have a steamer and love it, except sometimes I think there must be a better way to hold the garment that won't result in steaming my arm as I try and flatten out the garment whilst steaming.
Not comfortable to use for extended periods
To be honest this doesn't look particularly comfy to use to me.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Importance of using distilled water
Thanks, will try that in the future.
Preference for steamers over traditional ironing
I don’t have an ironing table and cause it takes too much time but I want to learn how to properly do it.
Really easy to use and saves time talaga compared to ironing.
It’s really convenient especially for dresses and more delicate fabrics.
Debate on iron vs. steamer effectiveness
Has anyone tried this 2 in 1? Spotted this iron at Costco and was debating on buy it or not.
I haven't tried this, but my initial take is that it looks like the iron equivalent of "universal" sewing machine needles.
I assume it's iron + steamer? If so it's a bit confusing to me, because steam irons already exist lol.
Mention of a competing product
ESTEAM Personal Hand Held Steamer, 120 volts but comes with a 220>110 transformer.
Preference for iron over steamer for suits
Iron or steamer for suits? New lawyer here. Do you guys use a steamer or a clothes iron for suits, or both, and why?
Steamer. Iron is more likely to damage suit fabric like wool.
A steamer will do. Hang up your suits as soon as you take them off so they don’t get wrinkled.

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on garment steamer replacing ironing
Can a garment steamer replace ironing most of the time? I want to buy one for everyday ironing - the small wrinkles that form on the clothes from being hung on hanger or after one day's wear.
I want to know this too
Would love to know as well. I’ve been hearing a lot about the Phillips one, wondering if someone has used that?
Interest in trying the steamer function
But very interested in trying this steamer function.
Discussion on holding garments while steaming
I hang shirts on hangers and then put the hangers on the curtain rod in my shower. Then you have a hand free to hold the edges of the shirt, sleeves, etc.
Discussion on the effectiveness of steamers for pest control
so I can get some piece of mind and... yeah.

Discussion on water types for steamers
Do you use distilled water or plain water in your garment steamer? Hi everyone!
I'm lazy AF, so tap it is. So far so good 🤷‍♀️
Did the same for 5 years, went today to run the steamer it didn’t work, took it apart to find out the electronics have been eaten by rust and salt buildup
It never occurred to me that I should be using distilled water! Lucky I haven't ruined any clothes so far...
Challenges in steamer maintenance
Managed to poke the hole that connects to the valve of the water reservoir.
Discussion on preference for travel-sized steamers
Given you are happy with your travel steamer would you mind sharing its brand and model?
Inquiry about sale prices
I’d wait it the sale price was decent.

It's doing great, pre-office ironing is just a 2 min job.
Preference for Philips steamer over Conair
Heats up quickly and removes wrinkles from your garments without those pesky iron marks that you get when ironing something that's delicate.
