Snoop's Take

The Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven is a versatile kitchen appliance designed to enhance your cooking experience with a range of functions including baking, broiling, toasting, and even air frying. With its powerful 1800 watts and sleek stainless steel design, it fits a variety of food sizes, making it perfect for daily cooking needs. Consumer sentiment is mixed regarding this toaster oven; while many users appreciate its convenience and versatility, others have experienced issues with functionality. One user shared, "it is the best kitchen appliance I've ever had," highlighting its effectiveness for daily use. However, some feedback indicates that features may fail over time, as noted by a user who stated, "Now all that works on it is the bake/conventional bake and air fry settings." Overall, while the Cuisinart Convection Toaster Oven is praised for its many cooking functions and user-friendly design, potential buyers should be aware of the reliability concerns based on user feedback. If you're looking for a versatile appliance for daily cooking, it may be worth considering but with caution regarding long-term durability.

Very convenient. Not super reliable tbh but we got lucky bc it broke just short of the 2 year mark so Cuisinart replaced it for free.

Positive Feedback

Now all that works on it is the bake/ conevntional bake and air fry settings.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Convenient for frequent use
Very convenient. Not super reliable tbh but we got lucky bc it broke just short of the 2 year mark so Cuisinart replaced it for free.
User loves the functionality and versatility of the oven
I absolutely love it.
both settings should have an extra burner.
Great for versatile cooking
I was hoping to get myself into cooking more using the air fryer to save money and eat healthier.
My Cuisinart is great at everything.....but making toast.
User appreciates stainless steel accessories
there is no other air fryers available that has stainless steel accessories.
Suitable for baking small items
Smaller possibly cheaper option- Cuisinart toaster oven broiler w convection will bake 6 cupcakes or one 8-9 inch cake.
I cooked rolls in a convection toaster oven, so yes.
Requires air circulation for optimal performance
They get pretty hot above/below.
Air on all sides so the heat doesn't heat up cabinets above it.
Speed convection feature enhances cooking efficiency
There is an option called “speed convection” which basically amps up the fan, and (according to reviews and wire cutter) pushes it to be roughly equivalent to an air fryer.
Best kitchen appliance for daily use
it is the best kitchen appliance I've ever had. Everyone in the family uses it pretty much every day.
Great for reheating food
We reheat food in the smaller air fryer, including melting cheese on meats and/or buns, and cooking fish, shrimp, vegetable rolls, chicken wings, etc., etc.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Multiple settings stopped working
Now all that works on it is the bake/ conevntional bake and air fry settings.
the place I took it to said it's not worth fixing.
the bake convection, broiler and toast are working.
Thermostat often inaccurate
It's great except the thermostat is often way off, it gets very hot to the touch, it cooks unevenly, no other trays fit in it, and the controls get flaky so it's hard to select the correct settings.
Knobs can malfunction over time
Different model, but Cuisinarts have issues with their knobs after a bit.
Takes up too much counter space
It took up way too much counter space for how much it sucked.
Dials frequently malfunction
I really want to love this product, but either I am cursed or these are truly horribly designed.
We can't hardly read the display settings so we don't know the temp or time anymore.
I suffered with it for a year. The dial wouldn't select anything but roast and airfry.
Convection setting is not as fast as an air fryer
The convection setting will move air, but not as fast as an air fryer.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on fitting pans in toaster ovens
I’ve literally bought and returned three different Breville ovens. I’ve always loved Breville!
Discussion about air fry vs convection features
Here's an article about the 2 settings on the same appliance -
so what i learned from that article is there really is no use case for convection over air fryee unless you like cooking things longer for whatever reason
Not true, convection can be used to speed up cooking of a moist cake, compared to conventional oven.
Air fryers are convection on crack.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Adapting recipes is necessary for smaller ovens
It's way healthier than buying bread.
You may be able to apply times/temps of your fave recipes based on that
Curiosity about cooking methods and recipe adaptations
Woohoo!! Cuisinart Steam and convection oven just unboxed!! So excited, I’ve just unboxed this, settled on this because the price of a new entire range was prohibitive.
Nice, looking forward to your creations.

Discussion on switching appliances for counter space
Decided to make the switch from lugging our basket-air fryer out almost every day and trying to make room for it next to our standard toaster to getting a counter top oven to replace these two other appliances.
Comments on product satisfaction with other brands
I've been very happy with Ninja Foodi products. I rarely use my full size oven any more.
I’ve been pleased with it and moved my Breville toaster oven off the counter.
This is mine...really happy with it.
I bought the lesser option and have still been so happy with it! We’ve had it two years and the only thing I’ve used my actual oven for is a turkey.
Confusion about convection ovens and air fryers
What's the deal—is a convention oven th[e same as an air fryer or what?
Great for pizzas and smaller portion cooking. It also uses less electricity than a full sized oven.
I feel like u/Wirecutter made a mistake classifying this as a Toaster Oven/ Air fryer.
I just bought a small Cuisinart AF and love it then right after the sale it went even lower /:
Discussion about understanding different cooking modes
Broil for when you want the top seared/browned more than inside or the bottom. It’s fast and focused.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about kitchen space and heat
How hot does the outside of this get?
No heat trouble. At higher temps I’ve seen the bread wrapper touch and melt, and I’ve put wrapped butter sticks on top to soften, but generally not that hot.
Discussion about air fryer performance
I have the same problem with my Breville oven. It's a great oven, but the air fryer and toaster functions aren't the greatest.
>It's a great oven, but the air fryer and toaster functions aren't the greatest
I find I just use it more like a convection oven as the air fryer tray always gets food stuck to it so it's impossible to clean.
Users switching to other brands for better reliability
I kinda miss the toaster oven form factor but so far very happy with the PowerXL fryer/steamer.
Discussion on air fryer vs convection capabilities
Great, I thought, since I had some extra counter space and could use it as a toaster, and for just some regular baking instead of heating up my whole apartment.
User satisfaction with older Cuisinart models
Most of the people posting on this subreddit have the Anova Precision Oven.
Highly recommend this device.
Breads and Steaming fish is very good.
