Snoop's Take

The ENO DoubleNest Hammock is a lightweight and portable hammock designed for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy camping, hiking, or simply relaxing in nature. With a capacity of 400 lbs and a length of 9.5 feet, it comfortably accommodates one or two people, making it a versatile choice for various outdoor adventures. Consumers have praised the ENO DoubleNest Hammock for its durability and ease of setup, with one user stating, "it’s easy to set up and it’s been incredibly durable." Many users appreciate its lightweight design, making it an ideal companion for hiking, while also noting its comfort during warm weather. However, some feedback indicates that it may not be the best option for long-term sleeping, as users have expressed concerns about discomfort when sleeping two people overnight. Overall, the ENO DoubleNest Hammock is highly recommended for casual use and short-term relaxation in the outdoors, although potential buyers should consider their specific sleeping arrangements and preferences when using it for extended periods.

Positive Feedback

Hammocks are nice for lounging, but to get a good sleep in, I preferred the cot.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy to set up and durable
it’s easy to set up and it’s been incredibly durable.
Works just fine!.
Hammock Camping (North-South lake, Catskills NY) low 30s, high wind & rain.
Don’t be lazy. This set up is virtually weather-proof this season and wouldn’t take more than a half hour to set up.
Compatible with various stands
I also have that stand from Amazon and it fits the eno hammocks well.
Lightweight and portable for hiking
I adore this [9.5 ft Eno] but it's probably too short right?
I’m considering getting a hammock to replace my bed for daily use, can anyone recommend any brands or types?
Cementing posts in backyard for permanent hammock setup, need help deciding distance between posts.
Easy to set up and compatible with ENO straps
Haven't gone camping in a hammock. But I've heard of sleeping pads and under quilts but why not just lay in a big sleeping bag in the hammock?
Durable and solid construction
they're solid.
Popular choice among users
Bought two. Came here to say I did.
Lightweight for hiking
Going to sleep in it one night when its dry.
Good setup for camping
I have spent many nights in an ENO - usually just with a pad and my Pendleton wool blankie.
Quality materials used
It is! Their ultralight hex tarp. It was the only one I could find in store when I was in a pinch of month or two ago, and when I set it up it didn't even cover the head or feet of my hammock 😂 seems like good quality, just way too small.
Compatible with various accessories
Comfortable hammock for camping (paddling especially) but not backpacking - the spreader bars add weight and reduces packability.
Hammock is breezy and comfortable
Opinions: sleeping under an EZ up. Which feels better Cot or Hammock w/ stand I’ve camped in a tent.
Hammock, by far. Breezy, no godawful hot spots to turn you into a sweaty mess, quick to dry from dew, and the gentle swaying in the morning breeze is heavenly.
Easy to set up and use
Hammock is the move. Last year I just set up my hammock in the grove and slept there every night! So breezy
Have never done either...but my plans are hammock under EZ up. Found a pretty inexpensive hammock stand on Amazon.
Hammock is super comfy and keeps you cool
My experience: A hammock is the best option if you have the space. It is super comfy, keeps you cool, and doesn't run the risk of deflating like an air mattress.
Better sleep experience than traditional camping gear
We all learn
Hammock is lightweight and portable for hiking
An ENO and the Army system is my go to for the field now.

Hammocks may not be comfortable for sleeping.
Hammocks are nice for lounging, but to get a good sleep in, I preferred the cot.
I ended up returning it and getting a Draumr instead.
Not comfortable for long-term sleeping
I slept on a Brazilian style hammock for almost 4 years (I got the Paradiso from Byer of Maine).
I used a comforter/duvet. I gathered one end up like an accordion, then wrapped cordage it to keep it secure, then did the other.
On my hammocks I’ve used both pads and under quilts, underquilt being by far more comfortable to me.
personally, the ENO is too heavy AND too short for a dedicated sleeping setup, i'd prefer something 10' minimum, with a structural ridgeline to 'dial in the sag', and i'd 100% recommend an underquilt, for both comfort and packability.
Hammocks may not be comfortable for sleeping
The insulation gets all compressed and you will wake up with a very cold backside.
You can have a -70F down sleeping bag, if even that exists, but you'd still be cold.
Tarp may be inadequate for coverage
That tarp does not look adequate for that hammock.
Don't you need the tarp to be slightly longer than the hammock?
It was definitely too short. It rained. I was not dry lol.
Air mattresses can be cold and uncomfortable
An air mattress does not insulate (so you get cold if it is cold outside) but it doesn't allow air flow, so if it is hot outside it loses that cooling effect.
Not comfortable for sleeping two people
Can an ENO doublenested hammock sleep 2? I spent the night on the beach in Hawaii sharing a hammock with my girlfriend and I made this video to share my thoughts.
No hammock can comfortably sleep two.
There's a big difference between hanging out together for an hour or two and sleeping comfortably through the night with another person smashed against you.
again no. you can cuddle just fine, but overnight sleeping is for 1 in a hammock

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion on underquilts for comfort
Using a pad is like trying to surf while you sleep.
This had a huge advantage if I got forced to ground I had a pad.
Discussion on versatility and comfort of double hammocks
But there are double hammocks? Never tried one but why would they not be?
There are double hammocks though that are just as large as two single hammocks... maybe those will be fine?
Any setup that would circumvent that would me much more complicated, expensive, and heavy than two single hammocks.
We slept foot to face for the 2 nights and were able to stay warm. It's definitely a tough sleep, but doable.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Hammocks are preferred for lounging rather than sleeping.
Im a hammock person. But i think it depends on where you put up your hammock.
I have an amok draumr, and I love it

Preference for hammock setup for comfort
If you get a good hammock set up it can be golden.
If it's just me, hammock.
I tried out my Dutchware half zip with a Neoair Regular Wide. It worked really well, with the exception of the pad being too plush.
I've also read that you don't want to fully inflate the pad when using it in a hammock.
Personal preferences vary for camping sleep setups.
Sleep better than any other way I’ve tried sleeping outside and I’ve tried everything.
I air mattress it.
Combine that with a darkroom tent with nice ventilation and you're solid.
And... buying a new hammock just for that....? And the specter is not waterproof, and probably lets a lot of air/wind through, so it sounds quite colder as well.
Personal preferences vary for hammock comfort
The Brazilian hammock has been my bed hammock for several years.
I originally bought the 1.6 and have dozens of wonderfully comfortable nights in it. When the 1.2 became available I tried it and it is so much more comfortable due to the slightly increased stretch in the material.
Discussion on hammock setups and preferences
And OMFG how did I spend so much money on Hammock gear?
Discussion on different camping setups
As a hammock camper this looks like a lot of work.
Hammock / included quilt 3.5 lbs
Looks awesome. I have a similar setup waiting to get a chance to use it.
my tent is good for Almost all seasons, with the fly and footprint is about 6 pounds.
Different preferences for camping setups
I love that thing!
My last Roo I had the BEST setup. I set a cot up in the bed of my pickup truck and put an Easy Up over the truck bed, lowered to be slightly higher than the top of the truck bed, so I would get a constant breeze coming through without being exposed and seen by people waking by.
Discussion on camping sleep setups and preferences
everything I’ve researched (including this forum) has said a cot or hammock is the way to keep coolest.
As long as it’s under an EZ and over a tarp I think it doesn’t matter if it’s a cot or air mattress.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Negative experience with air mattresses
I’m old so I like an inflatable pad on top of a cot, especially on cold weather
