Snoop's Take

The ENO TravelNest Hammock & Straps Combo is a portable and versatile hammock designed for outdoor enthusiasts, perfect for camping, hiking, and beach outings. Users appreciate its easy setup and durability, with one stating, "it's easy to set up and it's been incredibly durable." Many users have found the hammock comfortable and ideal for casual use, with remarks like, "Hammock is the move... the gentle swaying in the morning breeze is heavenly." However, some feedback indicates that it may not be the best choice for extended sleeping due to its shorter length and comfort issues when shared with another person. In the camping and leisure category, the ENO TravelNest Hammock is generally well-received for its practicality and ease of use. Many users have highlighted its breezy and comfortable experience, making it a solid choice for casual hanging and short-term use in parks. While it may not be ideal for those seeking a dedicated sleeping setup or higher-quality alternatives, it remains a popular option for those looking for a reliable and portable hammock. Based on overall user sentiment, this hammock is recommended for casual outdoor activities but may not meet everyone's expectations for extended sleep comfort.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy setup and durability
it's easy to set up and it's been incredibly durable.
Works just fine!
You can adjust the hook up and down the arm a bit to hang the hammock tighter or looser if needed.
Durable materials
I'm on year 4 using a dutchgear basic 11' hammock. It was $30.
Easy to pack and transport
I never once regretted that quilt (hammock gear). You could do without the pad if you really want, i think it likely got me 5-10 nights that were *substantially* more comfortable though.
Secure setup with adjustment points
Anything less, and a 5mph wind will suck the heat out of your ass even on a warm night.
Comfortable and breezy experience
Hammock is the move. Last year I just set up my hammock in the grove and slept there every night! So breezy
Hammock, by far. Breezy, no godawful hot spots to turn you into a sweaty mess, quick to dry from dew, and the gentle swaying in the morning breeze is heavenly.
Comfortable and cool for sleeping
A hammock is the best option if you have the space. It is super comfy, keeps you cool, and doesn't run the risk of deflating like an air mattress.
This, every year newbies we take with us make fun of me for not having a tent and then I laugh at them when they can't sleep past 8AM and they are wishing for my hammock.
Great for short-term use in parks
Loved hammock camping, but did not love doing it in an ENO hammock.
Good for casual hanging
I camped in an eno double nest! 510 150lb. It was comfy and works fine.
Useful for casual use
I think my ENO is perfect for me, because I bought it just for casual use.
I have a double nest ENO and its proven to be extremely useful to me.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Higher quality alternatives are available but more expensive
Eno makes one that is leaps better, but way more expensive too.
Issues with metal bending in cheaper stands
The Amazon one I had issues with the metal bending slightly so it didn't fit as tight.
Too short for a dedicated sleeping setup
personally, the ENO is too heavy AND too short for a dedicated sleeping setup, i'd prefer something 10' minimum, with a structural ridgeline to "dial in the sag"
Issues with comfort for sleeping
I couldn’t get a full nights sleep on an eno. I think it was because the length.
Hammocks are not comfortable for two people sleeping
No hammock can comfortably sleep two.
There's a big difference between hanging out together for an hour or two and sleeping comfortably through the night with another person smashed against you.
again no. you can cuddle just fine, but overnight sleeping is for 1 in a hammock
Challenges in sleeping comfortably in a hammock
We slept foot to face for the 2 nights and were able to stay warm.
Too short for optimal sleeping
They're fine for hanging in the park during the day, but try to sleep in one a few times and you'll find it's too short to get an optimal lay.
Mediocre quality compared to other brands
Eno is like a mediocre name brand in the grocery store.
Not suitable for comfortable sleeping for two
I will NEVER EVER NEVER go back.
Too short for comfortable sleep
ENO is good for casual hanging, it’s too short for comfortable sleep.
Size and weight issues
The three biggest issues with ENO are the size, weight, and price.
Higher price compared to alternatives
There are cheaper and lighter hammocks out there that people like more.
Any length I want in any fabric I want for less than 20 bucks.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Hammock benefits with proper setup
If you get a good hammock set up it can be golden. Hammock, underquilt, and rain fly.
From experience, I can say this is true.
I think it fits into the hammock better. If fully inflated, it won't form as well.
Preference for different hammock materials and types
I brought a soft cotton hammock from Brazil and when I laid down in it for the first time I literally teared up because it was so incredibly comfortable.
Discussion about double hammocks and their effectiveness
But there are double hammocks? Never tried one but why would they not be?
There are double hammocks though that are just as large as two single hammocks... maybe those will be fine?
Any setup that would circumvent that would me much more complicated, expensive, and heavy than two single hammocks.
_But there are double_ _Hammocks? Never tried one but_ _Why would they not be?_
Discussion on hammock alternatives
Are ENO hammocks really that bad? So I'm new to hammocks, and I just bought an ENO single.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Exploration of different camping setups
Opinions: sleeping under an EZ up. Which feels better Cot or Hammock w/ stand I’ve camped in a tent.
Have never done either...but my plans are hammock under EZ up. Found a pretty inexpensive hammock stand on Amazon.
I use a coleman queen sized cot with an air mattress on top. I love that thing!
My last Roo I had the BEST setup. I set a cot up in the bed of my pickup truck and put an Easy Up over the truck bed, lowered to be slightly higher than the top of the truck bed, so I would get a constant breeze coming through without being exposed and seen by people waking by.

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Camping gear preferences vary greatly among individuals
seems like the common wisdom is to go with either a cot or a hammock for better airflow
Preference for different hammock stands
best hammock stand for eno double nest? Like title says - have a eno double nest hammock & want to be able to use it at home to get more use out of it!
Preference for different sleeping setups
I slept on a Brazilian style hammock for almost 4 years (I got the Paradiso from Byer of Maine). I would recommend the first option.
My underquilt is a DIY set up with a knitted Afghan and an electric blanket, my topquilt is a homemade crocheted blanket with a foot box.
I slept full time in a hammock for almost a year. I would definitely suggest an under quilt, I used and army woobie (poncho liner) for a long time.
When the 1.2 became available I tried it and it is so much more comfortable due to the slightly increased stretch in the material.
Discussion about hammock lengths and user preferences
Comfort is the most relevant question though… I wonder is it enough to be significant?
Longer is pretty much always better, so go for the longest you can fit in the space.
most decent camping hammocks are 10 feet and above these days.
I felt like I was going to fall out, couldn't get a good diagonal lay, and couldn't turn comfortably in the hammock.
Discussion on hammock preferences and alternatives
there are quite a few people who do not like ENO as others are better alternative.
What do I need to consider when buying a hammock? So far when I am looking it is mostly, "I like this hammock because it is comfortable."
Still a good deal for a bridge hammock if you're into that.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Preference for inflatable pads over hammocks
Pads, cots or hammocks? What’s your preferred sleeping gear? I’ve been using an inflatable pad that deflates every hour and I hate it.
I’m old so I like an inflatable pad on top of a cot, especially on cold weather.
I'm not even old, and this is my go-to. So comfortable, it's worth the added bulk.
I tried out my Dutchware half zip with a Neoair Regular Wide. It worked really well, with the exception of the pad being too plush: The curvature due to the hammock plus the sinking into the sleeping pad was uncomfortable.
Preference for cots over hammocks for sleeping
Hammocks are nice for lounging, but to get a good sleep in, I preferred the cot.
Sleep better than any other way I’ve tried sleeping outside and I’ve tried everything.
I prefer to sleep on a nice cot with a memory foam or some other type of mattress topper.
Hammocks are suitable for lounging but not ideal for a good night's sleep
But i think it depends on where you put up your hammock.
Debate between sleeping options (hammock vs air mattress vs cot)
everything I’ve researched (including this forum) has said a cot or hammock is the way to keep coolest.
As long as it’s under an EZ and over a tarp I think it doesn’t matter if it’s a cot or air mattress.
An air mattress does not insulate (so you get cold if it is cold outside) but it doesn't allow air flow, so if it is hot outside it loses that cooling effect.
