What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.

Lightweight and portable design
Anyone else in love with small fixed blades? What are you carrying?
Just got mine in the mail today!!!
I find it more bulky and less convenient for EDC vs folders.
I’ve always intended to get one for my camping gear.
Durable D2 steel blade quality
Guardian 3.5 in m4. More dependable than a folder in a hard use situation.
Secure kydex sheath for safety
Do you EDC a fixed blade? If so, what and why? If not, why not?
Many folks pan the Eldris as being too small to be useful. I happen to find it to be a very handy little thing that’s easy to carry and fights well above its weight.
Cuts through materials faster than pocket knives
These cut thru the lumber straps way faster than pocket knives or utility blades
Fixed blades are easier to clean than folding knives
My biggest issue with folding blades is they get filth in the joint and are really difficult to keep as clean as I would like.
This right here. Fixed blade with removable handle scales so everything can get cleaned 100%.
And I'm a huge folder fan.
My vote goes to fixed every time even if from time to time choose a folding knife.
Fixed blade design allows for easier cleaning
Many people think it is a gimmick. But for most things you do in your day to day life, especially when you are a city slicker like me, you don't need a big knife.

Hassle during carry due to local laws
So its a bit of a hassle.
Random people apparently are terrified of a 4.5 inch long plastic sheath lol
Folding knives are difficult to maintain cleanliness
That thing gets gunked up and is usually the first thing I clean when I get home.

Inquiry about product identification for knife enthusiasts
Thanks for posting to r/Knives! Would you be so kind as to tell us what item(s) we are looking at?
Damn you might be on to something
Discussion about knife tang construction types
I’ve had experience with Cold Steel knives in the past with no issues like this.
It's not a full tang knife. More like a kind of rat tail tang.
Stick tang =/= rat tail tang.
Batoning was, I think, not done in the past, at least to most knives: users carried an axe *as well* and knife.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Discussion on carrying fixed blades vs. multitools
Fixed blades on belts in general don’t really sit right with me I think, I’d much rather have a multitool on the belt and the fixed blade on the pack but I’m just some dude online.
Kydex sheath making experience shared
Making a kydex sheath is not a big problem for someone who makes Kydex holsters for guns.
I do get it that practice and repetitions are necessary, but now I prefer to get quality sheaths from others.

Curiosity about transitioning to fixed blade knives
Sounds like you have been pleasantly surprised though.
These are my fixed blade knives, which should I add to my carrier/belt and why?
I like more classic looks with quality materials.
Discussion about different knife setups and preferences
This is how I carry a similar set up. Pocket slip for an Izula and Farmer X
Very nicely done with the slip. That looks great
Very nice setup! Did you do the pocket slip yourself? Looks cool!
Love my Izula! Truly fitting of the name!
Discussion about personal knife preferences
Most were bought on sale, with coupons, some secondhand so full retail will be higher for most.
I love fixed blades !! I need to do a family pic one day
All I miss is the Spydercos.. in another life maybe I’ll just get them all even though it’s unnecessary.
My two favourite fixed blades that I know can handle anything I need them to. Kobun always gets compliments.
Discussion about workplace knife usage restrictions
Incidents of self injury with a knife is high enough that, when caught not using a box cutter, they can just fire you.
Discussion about carrying fixed blades vs folders
This.
I think a mora is the sharpest out of the box knife I’ve ever owned. I love mine!
Curiosity about fixed blade laws and regulations
So by removing the thumbplate and tightening the pivot screw I can legally carry an espada XL (which I sometimes do just for the fun).
They looked it over, one cop asked the other cop if the length of the blade was an issue, and the other cop said, as long as it's not a "springmesser" (automatic) then it's okay.
It's a big clusterfuck because if you have a reason you can carry one handed knifes and or fixed blades larger than 12cm.
If i didn't have such a reason, do you think they'd take my knife? Assuming of course its legal, like a slip-joint that uses 2 hands to open.
Discussion about concealed carry options for fixed blade knives
Best concealable fixed blade knife to carry for self defense?
Gerber strong arm is about the smallest I would trust for self defense.
All you need is a a sharp piece of metal that goes unnoticed and doesn’t cuts your hand when fighting.
Discussion about preferences between fixed and folding knives
Any draw backs to fixed blades or folding? What do y’all use?
I know my 2 fixed blade Martiini knives will always work.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Skepticism regarding performance compared to utility blades
Sorry but I find that a little hard to believe. Cuts better than a brand new utility blade?
Comment about Gerber Strongarm performance
Does the job and not bad for the price point
