Snoop's Take

The Mossy Oak 7.5 Inch EDC Fixed Blade Knife is designed for outdoor enthusiasts, offering a reliable tool for camping, hunting, and survival activities. Made from premium 14C28N steel, this knife delivers excellent rust resistance and durability, making it suitable for tough environments. User feedback highlights its strong performance, with sentiments like, "These cut thru the lumber straps way faster than pocket knives or utility blades," reflecting its efficiency and sharpness. However, some users noted concerns about inconsistent heat treatment and edge retention, with remarks like, "they look great but don't hold an edge very well." Overall, while the Mossy Oak fixed blade knife is praised for its affordability and functionality, potential buyers should weigh these pros and cons before making a decision.

Positive Feedback

I've read their HT is a bit all over the place and this can result with some 14c28n being softer than competitors.

Good for Mossy Oak switching to 14C28N.

Affordable price for a fixed blade knife
Was at Tractor Supply for less than 15 bucks, so I had to.
More expensive knives don’t always mean better!
Benchmade makes good knives but damn do their sheaths suck.
Fixed blades are easier to manufacture at lower costs
Fixed blades are easier to make well for a cheaper price, because they don't have to worry about folding mechanisms/locks etc.
Excellent rust resistance with 14C28N steel
I’m glad I ordered the better sheath with this as the original plastic sheath that comes with the knife is ok but this kydex sheath is so much better and adding the micarta scales makes it seem like a much better knife as well.
This mossy oak 3pc set is not worth $12. They are too light, and i doubt even a half tang.
Good knife if used properly
I know its not special in any way but I'm just curious.
Good knife
Good for camping and cooking
Its a really good set although it does dull quickly.
Classy appearance
They look classy at least, but I don’t own any mossy oak knives.
Good for hunting or camping use
It looks nice. Planning on using it for hunting or camping? Or just for show?
Looks sharp and well-made
Looks sharp. Appears to be made of steel or similar.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Heat treatment quality can be inconsistent.
I've read their HT is a bit all over the place and this can result with some 14c28n being softer than competitors.
Sheath design makes it hard to access the knife
It's a knife, and it will probably cut things, but in the world of folding knives ya kind of have to spend around $30 to get something that isn't straight garbage.
Quality of knives is questionable
I got it cause it kinda looked like Rambo's (it definitely doesnt) and I thought it was a good deal.
Poor brand reputation and material quality
If you just want a bigknife, it will do the job. If you care about good materials, construction, and engineering, they suck.
Don't hold an edge very well
I have a similar set, they look great but don't hold an edge very well.
Mossy Oak knives are not recommended.
are the mossy oak knives good? I've seen people using them but I don't know for sure if they are actually good knives.
Probably want to pass on Mossy Oak.

Comments on alternatives to fixed blades for cutting
I just use $5 tin snips, that shit will destroy your blade
Sorry but I find that a little hard to believe. Cuts better than a brand new utility blade? And a good folding knife should cut just as good as a fixed blade.

The knife itself does have a really nice looking design, and if I see one on a decent discount I might actually pick one up.

Discussion about the practicality of carrying a fixed blade
Not really a need for it, I don't think, but I am curious.
Anybody EDC a fixed blade?
The only dude I’ve seen edc a knife that large.
Nowhere near the size of yours though 🤯
Comments on setups and carry methods for knives
This is how I carry a similar set up.
Very nicely done with the slip.
Very nice setup! Did you do the pocket slip yourself?
Love my Izula! Truly fitting of the name!
Discussion about workplace knife policies
Incidents of self injury with a knife is high enough that, when caught not using a box cutter, they can just fire you.
Discussion on the quality of cheaper knives
Hopefully yours will serve you like mine has.
Discussion about EDC and concealed carry preferences
It's meant for edc/concealed carry, so to many, the sheath & Ulticlip will be a plus.
Humorous remark on the product's name
That is neither mossy nor oak! Demand a refund! lol

Cautionary Callouts

Discussion about alternatives to Mossy Oak knives.
I’d get a fixed blade serrated for fishing if you use cut bait a lot.
I'm looking for reliable knives for fishing and just EDC knives.
If you want one for both try Bark River.
