Best way to clean hydration bladders? I saw notes on using vinegar and water but wouldn’t the acidic nature of vinegar make it more likely to leech the plastics etc from the you material?

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Easy to clean with large opening
Best way to clean hydration bladders? I saw notes on using vinegar and water but wouldn’t the acidic nature of vinegar make it more likely to leech the plastics etc from the you material?
I wouldn’t even think of going to Roo WITHOUT a hydration pack. It is essential
Any recs for hydration bladder? I have a pack that didn't come with a bladder so I need to get one.
Hydration packs - yay or nay? I have a hydration pack and I was wondering what Bonnaroos policy was on those/backpacks in general for Centeroo?
High-quality material doesn't leave bad taste
Yes please carry a hydration pack!! It’s necessary for a music festival as big as Roo especially because you’ll be in TN in June and walking a lot.
You need a way to carry water, but it depends on your setup how you do it. Water is heavy and large, so it’s hard to store on a belt.
Durable and pressure-tolerant design
Yeah but, if the life straw is packed into a plate carrier, and plate carriers are intended for direct action/ force/combat. Do you wanna hang out by the water source or would you rather grab water and get back to cover/concealment?
Quick-release tube for easy cleaning
I generally just keep a water bottle and a lifestraw on me somewhere so I figured a pack wasn’t worth it.
Convenient for hands-free hydration
idk how big ur water bottle is but the extra water capacity is nice esp on hot hot hot days!!
it’s essential for me just simply for the convenience.
Will do, thank you!
Extra water capacity is beneficial on hot days
There’s few arguments for not carrying a camelbak imo.
Game changer compared to traditional bottles
the bladders themselves feel bone dry and I plan on tucking them away in a closet with some silica packets.
Effective drying methods shared
I just fill mine about half full, and then lay it flat in the freezer.
It’s a little tricky to get it back in but basically brute force will do it.
Fully drying a hydration bladder is hard, short of using an aquarium air pump to push dry air up the tube.
The most important thing is propping the bladder upside down and open (not flat) so the moisture can escape.
No leaks during use
No leaks or anything.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Some bladders are prone to leaking
Every other brand I've had has sprung a leak.
I tried wearing a camelbak, but it *always* interferes with the hatches on our IFV.
Difficulty removing the bite valve for cleaning
But how do you dry out the tube? There’s always drips left in it, especially by the bite valve.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
General opinion that hydration bladders are similar in functionality
All the modern ones have the same quick disconnects, and all are just as much of a bitch to clean.
Mine has lasted nearly 3 years with use as a running pack.
It’s very fast and easy to clean once you get the hang of it.
I’ve been using for years for mtb and had no problems.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Hydration packs enhance the festival experience
I went one year (my first year) without and I’ll never do that again, you can get by without but it’
To add on, get a sawyer Squeeze, not the mini or micro. Much faster flow.
Discussion on innovative drying solutions
We got the bone dry/bondry bladder inserts last year for Christmas and they are AMAZING - jus t rinse the bladder and throw it in there and you can put the bladder back in your pack.
Discussion on various methods to dry the tube
Wondering about these methods too:
Storing the bladder in the freezer for convenience
You can either do this or keep the hydration pack in the freezer...

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Discussion on hydration needs during runs in humid climates
my mouth gets dry easily
I do bring a hydration pack if I run in the early morning, no one really cares.
all they see is a runner, and runners sometimes have vests.
If my runs are beyond 1 hour, I definitely need water and an alternative to a running vest is a running belt, both allows a soft flask to fit inside with 350-500ml of water.
Some prefer traditional water bottles for convenience
I carried my large water bottle with me and it also held a few things such as sunscreen, chapstick, Tylenol, etc.
Smart move! We invented the original IMS4 back in 2017 for exactly this reason (external hard cell hydration for packs/rucks/mounted operations).

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Concerns about mold or mildew in hydration bladders
No mold or mildew. Always cold water!
Hydration challenges in extreme cold
Went for a long run last weekend when it was around -13 fahrenheit. The water in my hydration pack line froze within the first mile so I couldn't drink any during the entire run.
Honestly if the long run is less than 2 hours, I just hydrate well beforehand in the winter, and then afterwards of course.
I feel I actually lose more hydration at these low temps, but still not enough to be a problem on an hour run as long as you're properly hydrated beforehand.
Wear your coat over your pack. You may look like Quasimodo but your water will stay liquid.
