Snoop's Take

The ihuan Breathable Weight Lifting Gloves are designed to enhance your workout experience by providing wrist support, palm protection, and improved grip. With a focus on comfort and functionality, these fingerless gloves are suitable for various fitness activities including weightlifting, rowing, and pull-ups. User feedback reflects a largely positive sentiment towards the gloves, particularly highlighting their ability to prevent hand injuries and provide excellent grip stability. One user noted, "They protect my ring from pinching my hand and help reduce slippage from my sweaty hands," demonstrating their effectiveness during intense workouts. However, some users expressed concerns about grip strength and the potential for the gloves to feel cumbersome at times, with comments like, "they can mess with your grip strength from my understanding, so I just steer clear." Overall, the ihuan Breathable Weight Lifting Gloves are recommended for those looking for added palm protection and wrist support during workouts. While there are mixed feelings about their impact on grip strength, the majority of feedback suggests they are a valuable accessory for enhancing comfort and safety while lifting.

Positive Feedback

I was crippled without them and preferred to not have them on for some exercises, which drove me crazy trying to take them off while switching stations and choosing weights.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Provides wrist support
What accessory equipment do you recommend?
I like the ihuan Breathable Weight Lifting Gloves from Amazon - wish they were available somewhere else so I could get them quickly when I lose them.
Looking for winter gloves or mittens for negative temps As the title says.
Helps prevent hand injuries
Why are lifting gloves being made fun of in the fitness community? I personally feel like they help me alot, and I don't like having my hards feel like sandpaper, and be all torn up.
I wear gloves because I get bad eczema on my hands, which leaves me with tons of tiny blisters on my hands, as well as all of the other horrible itching, burning, cracking dryness of it.
Enhances grip stability
If your hands sweat a lot, use a plastic glove instead of the thin poly glove.
Helps protect palms during lifting
gloves for lifting? Curious the pros and cons (aside from having to remember yet another thing for class) to wearing gloves while lifting.
They protect my ring from pinching my hand and help reduce slippage from my sweaty hands.
Excellent padding
I've gone through three sets of G-Loves gloves. I can't say they support my wrist, but they do have excellent padding.
Super comfortable gloves
they are super comfortable and the wrist support is on point.
Better quality than most Thai gloves
their quality is just a notch lower than Winning but designed for Muay Thai for a fraction of the cost.
Nice feedback for hitting pads
Very solid gloves. Better quality than most Thai stuff, the padding has nice feedback for hitting pads but is soft enough to spar with
Excellent grip even in wet conditions
They were grippy through the whole match, even tho it was raining and they got wet, but they weren't as sticky as in the video I posted the other day.
Good padding for rolling
the padding on the palms has made them perfect for rolling.
Full-finger design prevents finger blisters
since it saves me from finger blisters.
Helps prevent hand soreness during lifting
Would gloves help? I don't want to lose grip strength but my hands and fingers are starting to feel like sandpaper.
They’re thin, I can still feel the bar, but my skin doesn’t feel like it’s being ripped off.
Allows focus on muscle engagement instead of hand discomfort
It lets me concentrate on my muscles and not my hands.
Provides excellent grip support
A couple of gloves I was looking at:...really can't tell what is good or not?
Thin gloves can save skin without hindering grip
I don’t see the harm in a thin glove to save your skin, as long as it’s not padded and interfering with the grip.
I think something like a golf glove or simple tact glove is essentially no different than using chalk.
Interest in gloves with adequate padding
Gloves. Yay or Nay? What is general opinion on wearing gloves when working out in this community?
I would not mind reviewing them if you need people to give feedback. The thinness of the gloves sounds interesting.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Can get sweaty and gross
I was crippled without them and preferred to not have them on for some exercises, which drove me crazy trying to take them off while switching stations and choosing weights.
Can hinder proper grip on weights
they didn’t allow me to grip weights and bars properly and it lead to a wrist injury
Can hinder grip strength
they can mess with your grip strength from my understanding, so I just steer clear.
I find gloves to be more trouble than they're worth.
Better to build calluses especially if you like to lift heavy.
Can make the bar feel larger, affecting grip
Don't buy gloves. Gloves make the bar bigger in diameter, which makes it harder to hold, which makes you weaker on any exercise where you need to grip the bar (deadlifts, power cleans, rows, etc).
Hinders grip strength and lifting effectiveness
Gloves make it harder to lift since you have to reach around a larger surface area to grip the bar.
it won't really increase grip strength, it will make your grip the limiting factor.
Mixed feelings about the necessity of gloves for comfort
Please just use gloves.
Gloves can interfere with grip effectiveness
Serious lifters don't wear gloves. This is not a macho display or anything.
I don’t see the harm in a thin glove to save your skin, as long as it’s not padded and interfering with the grip.
the study posted above literally tested it out and shows that while thin gloves have a lower impact they still affect grip.
Preference for training without gloves
Gloves are cool if you dont wanna commit but for whatever you do in sports youll be better off without them atleast from my experience in judo cravmaga rugby bmx climbing and weights
He did sometimes. Mainly Roccolo gloves. Which was the brand he owns, obvious reasons to push them. But gloves were a gym fashion back there too.
Personally I don’t for any sort of training. I did try when I was 15-16 but found it to be a hindrance more than anything

Mixed perceptions of lifting gloves in fitness culture
People see them as either a sign of weakness (don't want to rough up your hands), or a sign of cockiness (that you think you're pulling enough weight that they're necessary).
Many people are joking when they make fun of others for gloves. Whether or not it's your preference to wear gloves is up to you.
Discussion about the quality and longevity of gloves
The quality of materials and workmanship just doesn’t compare.
The top one looks like a sturdy work glove while the bottom one reminds me of the cheap Walmart bike gloves I wear when I skate lol
They ain’t the same glove design or even material.
Honestly, I'm guessing the huge prevalence of uggo buildings is mostly due to it being simpler and easier to produce, maximising "benefit" and minimizing cost.
Preference for gloves with different materials
my current “full-grain” goatskin gloves are almost done after about 3 weeks 😭
Discussion on the evolution of glove usage in fitness culture
The differences are not insignificant. Certainly not imperceptible to anyone paying attention.
Discussion about grip technique and comfort
You are most likely holding the bar too high in your hand, which is compressing the flesh of your palm and pulling it.
Yes, if we're talking about pulling movements (DLs, rows, etc.).

You shouldn’t let grip be the limiting factor in your leg workout.
Anyone lifting weights cares about friction. If there is no friction you can't pick anything up.
Debate on using gloves for beginners
I'm just a beginner so these are relatively light weights, so I'm not sure if I should just 'man up' or get a pair of gloves?
No pain, no gain.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Preference for not using gloves for certain exercises
A good solid hold of is key to preventing hand tears.
I mostly just work at the machines for specific muscle groups to keep healthy, active and relatively fit.
Concerns over planned obsolescence in glove manufacturing
their old gloves last 10 years while their new gloves last 3-6 months.
Discussion about glove durability and training usage
Never had this issue with other gloves.
buy a few at the same time and rotate them, then you’ll of course develop the one glove that has that special sauce you need for finals.
it seems like a good choice to use it only as a "competition glove", and have another one for training.
might be worth a try.
Discussion about the durability of gloves
Are those full finger?
Debate on the necessity of gloves for grip strength
Who cares about lesser friction? Do you even lift?
