What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Photochromic feature works well
Absolutely zero complaints from me.
I'm totally lost: cycling glasses Long story short I've been looking for the "perfect" cycling glasses for years and I'm continuously getting disappointed no matter how high I am going in price range.
I knew this brand but didn't know they have trail lenses as well.
Comfortable fit for various face shapes
You just put in your face and forget about them, I don’t need to carry two pair of glasses and constantly swapping them if I go in and out of places.
Are photochromic glasses worth it? Do they even decently work?
I commute 15 km by bike, 3-5 days a week. At this time of year, I'm riding in "city-darkness" in the morning and daylight on my way home.
Good sizing too, don’t pinch my head, which I think you’re probably referring to by “headache”.
Good UV protection
They’re great. Pro tip though, don’t wear them in the car.
I went with the tinted (with UV A/B/C protection) version of the safety glasses I wear at work. For $7 they don't fall off my face in the woods, are reasonable well vented, can take a rock being shot at my eyes while in my full face and best of all- I don't care if they get scuffed.
Affordable price point
Eyewear never lasts forever.
Photochromic feature works well in varying light conditions
If you're commuting, then photochromic are a godsend, you won't necessarily have an option to always ride in good light.
Then photochromic will be the answer you need.
They are all I use. I can head out before sunrise for a 5 or 6 hour ride and not need to think about them again.
They make it easy to see in all conditions, never too dark and never too bright.
Light tint noted on photochromic lenses
I can't remember really noticing any strong tint while riding, but if no one else answers I'll report back after my evening ride today after work
they have a very light yellow tint when not darkened
They have light tint grey/cold/blue. I use them even in dark conditions.
no strong tint, probably more of a greyish filter than anything.

Fogging issues reported
If light conditions don't change fast and often these might be good but for me the tint change is too slow
Forgot to say I sweat a lot and the Tifosis don't fog. Also hit a tree branch once and they have no scratches on the lens.
Tint change is too slow for some users
I think that sort of depends on the lens and what their range of percentage is. My Oakley’s always took frustratingly long, but my Alba’s are perfect.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Inquiry about lens tint variation
I consider getting one of those, with photochromic mirror lens, but would like to know whether the lens is gray, or pinkish, or brown from the inside...?
Glasses are essential for eye protection while riding.
I don’t know anyone that owns some to try out.
Glasses are number 2 in order of importance after a helmet. They keep rocks, mud, branches and bugs out of your eyes. And the sun 😎
I started wearing them last year and now wouldnt ride without them. One of the best mtb related investments I've made.
Protect your eyes. It’s worth it.

Hidden Hero Hacks

Unexpected tricks and side‑door uses you’ll love.
Useful for multiple activities beyond cycling
Hey, just wondering if anyone could recommend any budget / decent cycling glasses? Got whacked an absolute whopper today in the eye by a blue bottle.
has anyone used these Saolar riding glasses? thoughts?
Do you guys have any feedback ?

Buyer’s Cheat Sheet

What to check before you click ‘Add to Cart.’
Comparison with other brands is common
I love my photochromatic riding glasses but I didn’t invest much.
Goodr, great for riding, running… lots of lens options and are inexpensive.
I wear Tifosi sunglasses or Shady Rays also have a couple of styles I like for cycling.
Concerns about high costs of cycling sunglasses
Sunglasses for a novice cyclist Yeah so cycling is super expensive and sunglasses seem to be no exception.
Suggestions for cheaper alternatives to cycling sunglasses
Much cheaper when cycling word is not associated with them.
Tifosi are pretty good. Much lower prices than Oakley or SunGod but still effective and seem to be solid.
no complaints, great coverage.
Mention of Tifosi as a popular alternative
Way easier on the pockets than replacing a pair of Oakleys with more Oakleys.
Their fototec glasses are great
love the fototec. never have to think about which lens is right for the ride any more
Mine came with 3 sets of lenses.
Comparison with other brands like Tifosi and Bliz is common
They shift from amber to copper, which brings out green and brown tones and brightens up my view.
I've been very happy with them. I went with a very low tint.
General interest in budget sunglasses options
Budget sunglasses? What's a decent/good budget pair of sunglasses?
I second the vote for tifosi with interchangeable lenses. Or go with cheap safety glasses which you can get cheap in clear or tinted.
I second the safety glasses! I’ve been using them for years.
I quite been enjoying Rock Bros oversized polarized sunglasses and photochromic sunglasses.
Mention of prescription glasses usage
They definitely get dark enough. And they go fully clear, so light enough as well.
Some users prefer cheaper alternatives for cycling glasses.
I use safety glasses from Home Depot. When they get scratched I throw them away.
They do the trick and do t break the bank. Super light and comfy.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Discussion about varying performance of photochromic glasses
Was wondering if they get light enough? Dark enough?
They have some that don’t get fully clear but get darker and some that start fully clear, but don’t get as dark as regular sunglasses.
They are fine for my morning rides before the sun comes up - I have no issues seeing on our local bike trail on the way to work with my headlight.
Unlike Tifosi, they shift from amber to copper. The brownish tones really brighten everything up, making even overcast days enjoyable.
Discussion about safety ratings and impact resistance of glasses.
That is really interesting, are the lenses certified or just the frames?
The glasses I use are walker’s sport glasses and I believe the lenses have the ANSI Z87.1 rating.
User questions legitimacy of the brand
its a scam stay away
