Positive Feedback

Pairs that have a bridge that rises up like these do would make contact with my helmets/brow and would encourage sweat to run down the lenses.

What it does well!

Key strengths users can’t stop talking about.
Good photochromic performance
photochromic change occurs in seconds and the overall quality feels solid.
Huge fan of that brand, $25!usd for frame and 4 lens including photo chromatic.
the tint change is too slow.
If you're commuting, then photochromic are a godsend, you won't necessarily have an option to always ride in good light.
Solid overall quality
Absolutely zero complaints from me.
Affordable price for features
Eyewear never lasts forever.
Works well in varying weather conditions
I can wear them in any weather and lighting conditions and especially when conditions may change during the ride
I'm riding in 'city-darkness' in the morning and daylight on my way home
Then photochromic will be the answer you need. I tend to get the opposite (light going, dark returning) for about 6 months of the year.
Effective for varying light conditions
Do you guys have any feedback ?
Yes, if light changes during your ride.
Yes they're fantastic to use, I ride in direct sun, cloudy, and at early morning/night with the same glasses.
I freaking love my glasses. You just put in your face and forget about them, I don’t need to carry two pair of glasses and constantly swapping them if I go in and out of places.
Fast tint changing capability
A few seconds for mine.
Light tint while riding
I can't remember really noticing any strong tint while riding
they have a very light yellow tint when not darkened
They have light tint grey/cold/blue. I use them even in dark conditions.
no strong tint, probably more of a greyish filter than anything.

Where it needs some work!

Areas to watch—feedback on possible improvements.
Compatibility issues with some helmets
Pairs that have a bridge that rises up like these do would make contact with my helmets/brow and would encourage sweat to run down the lenses.
May take too long to change tint under certain conditions
I think that sort of depends on the lens and what their range of percentage is.
Not effective in the car due to UV blockage
They’re great. Pro tip though, don’t wear them in the car.

Core Power Plays

The specs and strengths that make it shine.
Discussion about the need for specific features in cycling glasses
Can anyone recommend good frequently used road cycling glasses that don't look way too spacey, are mid-priced (around $100), and offer common features like anti-fog, photochromic, and polarization?
You don’t want polarization for cycling glasses; selectively removing glare/glint takes away details of the road surface.
Happy with my photochromic Oakley Sutro Lites. You can sometimes find them on sale for around 130 if you’re actively hunting.
Discussion on varying brands of photochromic glasses
Was wondering if they get light enough? Dark enough?
They have some that don’t get fully clear but get darker and some that start fully clear, but don’t get as dark as regular sunglasses.
They are dark enough. They are fine for my morning rides before the sun comes up - I have no issues seeing on our local bike trail on the way to work with my headlight.
The brownish tones really brighten everything up, making even overcast days enjoyable.

Comparison to high-end brands
Tifosi has a couple great models for under $100
Is it purely the brand name and veneer around the glasses that makes them more expensive or is there some big quality difference that makes them worth it?
Pretty much saved my eye/orbit. I'll never buy cheap glasses for riding even though they might also be relatively resistant to breaking.
Discussion on the impact of price on quality
I hate buying expensive sunglasses, i tend to lose them. So i'm always happy to find a low cost solution.
Tint is activated by UV light, so even in the evening they will tint a little, later in a season I just ride with cheap safety glasses.
Discussions on alternatives and price vs quality
I love my photochromatic riding glasses but I didn’t invest much.
Sunglasses can be expensive; exploring budget options
Sunglasses for a novice cyclist Yeah so cycling is super expensive and sunglasses seem to be no exception.
A hack which is quite popular in my cycling club is to use glasses made for construction workers and likes.
Discussion on affordable brands like Tifosi
I’ve no complaints with mine aside from scratching them like an idiot
Way easier on the pockets than replacing a pair of Oakleys with more Oakleys.
Their fototec glasses are great
never have to think about which lens is right for the ride any more
Exploring alternatives to expensive brands
Are photochromic glasses worth it? Do they even decently work?
They shift from amber to copper, which brings out green and brown tones and brightens up my view.
Discussion on varying budget options for sunglasses
Budget sunglasses? What's a decent/good budget pair of sunglasses?
I second the safety glasses! I’ve been using them for years.
I quite been enjoying Rock Bros oversized polarized sunglasses and photochromic sunglasses.
Goodr. Not specifically made for mtb but they don’t move and are very comfortable.
Exploring budget options for cycling sunglasses
My eyes need sunglasses while riding, even on cloudy days.
Good sizing too, don’t pinch my head, which I think you’re probably referring to by “headache”.
Just get these! Great and super cheap.

Cautionary Callouts

Know the pitfalls before they catch you off guard.
Skepticism about quality of cheap alternatives
The trick is to getting low distortion and high clarity while meeting impact.
For $7 they don't fall off my face in the woods, are reasonable well vented, can take a rock being shot at my eyes while in my full face and best of all- I don't care if they get scuffed.
Discussion on cheap alternatives
Which cheap cycling sunglasses is better? Which cheap cycling sunglasses is better? Share your experience with me.
I'm fond of buying inexpensive, UV blocking, safety sun glasses available at your local hardware store.
This is the way. Probably better quality and a fraction of the cost.
I bought a cheap polarized one at lidl and they work fine.
